On The Optima Speakers From Heybrook: Good Point,
On the Optima Speakers from Heybrook: good point, bass; bad points lack of "bite". If you like soft background music in your living room these are ideal,
but no good if you want a heavy metal band in your face. Sound stage seems narrow, if you shut your eyes you can still hear where the sound is coming from. I tried running these with the covers off but treble still sounded almost apologetic. Bi-wiring and volume up improved things but budget limitations showed through. Saying that these floor standers look really nice. I have a pair of old HB2's, they sound clearer but don't have the bass extension of these. Overall these sound "boxy" but can't complain for £120 s/h.
I probably should have spent £700 to get the sound I want. Generally below standard for Heybrook, trying too hard to budget and sacrificing quality.
Fussy, ain't I?
I'm Fussy too,
