Bit of a strange one in concept Streets Online, it's like an entire site devoted to music (found at audiostreet.com) which is actually part of a larger shopping site called Streets Online. I suppose it's the digital equivalent of wandering down a street and finding nothing but music shops, whilst another parallel one holds DVDs shops, another Video stores etc. Anyhoo, this is Audio Street!
First things first...they used to be MUCH better.
I haven't used them for a while because around a year or so ago they were taken over by a larger group and have gone down the pan! They have more items than they used to, in fact, an enormous selection, but at the stock has risen so have the prices. It's now one of the most expensive places I've found online to buy CDs! Taking just one example, Mariah Carey's new album "Charmbracelet" (just because it has pride of place on their homepage at the moment). Their price is £13.99(saving you £2 apparently but you need to add £1 postage) whilst the price at cd-wow.com is £8.99 and the postage is free. Umm, need I say more? £6 more expensive after postage for just one CD isn't good!! These are rather more like high street prices than internet prices and to be honest, if you're going to buy at high street prices you're far bettre off buying FROM the high street!
If the price hasn't put you off then rest assured they do have a large selection of goods but maybe it's just me or it's rather difficult to navigate. Searching using the search engine is fine but for general browsing it's a bit of a pain. When you do find what you are looking for though a lot of the items have customer reviews and opinions which is a nice touch. They used to offer reward points for this but it looks like they either discontinued it or are keeping quiet about it now! Like I said, they've gone downhill...
Delivery is apparently within one to two days of the order being placed but I've had problems with this before. Getting order problems sorted out used to be a real pain as well despite all the contact addresses littered across the site. At these prices I'm never likely to use them again to find out whether it has improved or not.
Basically, if you want to pay through the nose for CDs then give them a whirl. If not, you'll find cheaper companies with better service records elsewhere.
