This is where it all began, the juggernaught success of Jackson's solo career started with this album and it's worth getting just for that reason. The fact that this was the album before he got really big gives it an unselfconscious and earthy feel blended perfectly with Quincey Jones' vision and keen ear for jazz. Whilst there are a few tracks which are pretty mediocre there are some absolute gems. As well as the obvious classics listen out for the soulful 'I Can't Help it' (co written by Stevie Wonder)and the pumping 'Get On the Floor'. This album will probably appeal to those put off by Jackson's inflated ego which prevails throughout his subsequent albums.

Yes I may be a huge Michael Jackson fan, but even if I wasn't, I would be recommending this to any music fan! There is such a great mix of music on this album and personally, I cannot help but dance to these beautiful and funky songs! I have given this 5 stars because of so many reasons but my top 3 reasons are that:
- It has a great feel to all the songs
- Well worth the money
- You might become an MJ fan ;)
But seriously, don't hesitate, BUY THIS ALBUM!

Every song in Michael Jackson's Off the Wall album falls into that rarest of categories: one literally cannot listen to this while sitting down. Such is it's raw energy and brilliance that dancing is inevitable whenever it is played. This album has extremely strong ties to Disco, but should also appease anyone with any musical taste whatsoever.
