Been Using Braun Since I Was 18 Now 61 ! Used Brau
Been using Braun since i was 18 now 61 ! Used Braun Microns over the years till i got this 5775 in '05. This in no way compares to the older Micron series, cuts badly, requires many passes and still doesnt give a good close shave all over, and i dont have a heavy face growth. The travelling case pivot point broke within 2 months! It took them 2 months to reply to my email parts query ! then sent me the wron case !I was a Braun fan till i got this one but will never buy one again. Just found out they are now owned by Gillette and things went all wrong from then i think. Gonna try a Panasonic next, its a real shame as i was a Braun fan ! aam now using a 1975 Braun as it gives a better shave than the 5775.

Wet Or Electric, I Hate Shaving. I've Always Had
Wet or electric, I hate shaving. I've always had thin and sensitive skin, so am prone to cuts and irritation from shaving. Just to make matters worse, now that I'm approaching middle age my beard is expanding southwards. Faced with a choice between an unattractively hairy throat or permanent barber's rash, I knew that I had to try something new.
My last electric shaver was a Philips rotary, which took several passes to catch all the bristles in my beard. My skin would cry out for moisturiser afterwards and the damn thing could actually draw blood from the thin skin around my adam's apple. When the pathetic trimmer on the Philips packed up after 2 years of use, I used it as an excuse to go for a Braun Flex XPII. I was attracted by the concept of a twin foil with an integral trimmer for stray hairs and I wasn't disappointed by the shaver's initial performance.
What a difference! The Braun feels more solid, shaves closer, needs less frequent charging and cleans itself when you plug it into its 'Clean and Charge' unit. My skin is still slightly irritated but a little moisturiser after shaving sorts that out. Even the tricky area around my adam's apple comes up smooth with less time (and blood) spent going over the same patch again and again. The Flex XP cutting block is a mini work of art and everything about the shaver and its accessories (apart from the tatty travel pouch) says "Quality Item". I understand that Braun's replacement cutting blocks and foils are expensive but I'll happily pay up in 18 months' time to maintain this shaver's high performance. I'm still within the three week adaptation period but I'm very happy with my Flex XPII. It's the best electric shaver that I've ever owned.
It's worth looking at eBay if you're after one of these shavers. I saved 40% on the best internet price and the shaver arrived wrapped with all documentation included. The retail price of the Braun is about £20 more than my old Philishave, but definitely worth the extra!
It is now just over a month into ownership, and the Braun Flex XPII 5775 Men's Washable Shaver is still a joy to use. It copes with 2 days of beard growth with no problems, and my skin feels much better than it has with any other shaving system.
One slight niggle is the lack of a charge level indicator. I have to time the Braun when it's being charged to avoid damaging the batteries. Also, when they run down there's very little warning. The shaver turns itself off when battery power gets too low, which happened to me halfway through a shave! However, nearly slicing my ear off with a wet razor made me forgive the Braun for its faults.

I Bought The Braun 5775 Flex Xp Ii In February 200
I bought the Braun 5775 Flex XP II in February 2005 and have been using it daily for the past 7 months without any problems.
I have found that the Braun gives an extremely close shave but requires several passes in varying directions to shave all the hairs from the neck area, subsequently I am left with a red neck for a few minutes after shaving. The red neck does not bother me as previously I had to do with a constant rash on my neck from wet shaving.
I must also add that I did stray from using the Braun and bought a triple bladed wet razor because I started to think it was taking too long to shave with the Braun - I was totally surprised at how rough the wet shave triple bladed razor left my face (My kids commented that I hurt their lips when they kissed me!) and the time it took to lather myself up and then rinse off again in a basin full of muck seemed an eternity.
In conclusion I rate the Braun 5775 very highly but in hindsight would have bought the model with the shaving head designed for hairs that grow in different directions on the neck area.

My Model Is The Flexxpii, 5770, Which I Brought Ne
My model is the FlexXPII, 5770, which I brought nearly 12 months ago for £74.99, from Boots.
I have used Braun shavers for probably 30 years and although never totally happy, have stuck with them.
Shaver was poor shaving initially, although I followed the instructions, to allow 4 weeks to get used to shaver. This period I kept extending and still nothing improved.
I finally ditched it this week, buying a Remington fro £50 via the Sunday Times Offer - what a difference. Quick, clean shave in 2/3 minutes, instead of the 8/10 minutes grinding away with the Braun.
The Braun was useless. A complete waste of money.

I Have My 2nd Braun Flex Xpii 5775 Men's Washable
I have my 2nd Braun Flex XPII 5775 Men's Washable Shaver in 2 weeks and I am about to take it back as well. I got about 3 shaves out of each of them before the foil started overheating to the point where it was almost burning my skin. Everything else about the shaver seems excellent but I will not be getting another one from this model.
