I Have Had Loads & Loads Of Mobile Phones Includin

I have had loads & loads of mobile phones including the gd87, x70, gx10i, gx20, e700, t630, p400 and nokia 7600. But this Samsung SGH E710 beats them all hands down - fair enough the menu looks a bit naff but its easy & simple so anyone can use it with ease. I was impressed with the e700 its pretty much the same but slightly better cause its got a video mode with crosshair & a flash which actually does make loads of difference when using it. Battery life is mint and so is the reception.

The only thing I dont like is unless u get hold of a rare & expensive sim free version the network provider sticks there cheesy logo on it & messes about with the menu i know a few people with e710's on different networks and all the menus/tones are totally different why oh why do they have to do these things why dont they just leave it alone.

Well im impressed with it & would recommend this phone to anyone.

Samsung Sgh E710 - I Like This Phone. I Know A Lo

Samsung SGH E710 - I like this phone. I know a lot of people have put it down because of the menus. My friend has a Samsung E700 and I actually prefer the menus on the E710. OK, so they're all the same, red, white and grey, but it is so much more simple to use then the E700; I find the E700 menus confusing, these ones are nice and simple.

I was on a pay-as-you-go Motorolla E365, the camera on it was shocking, the quality of this phone is great, very clear, it also comes with effects such as photo negative, Sepia, Sketch and emboss. There are also options to flip the camera vertically and to mirror the image. The main selling point of the E700 was the self-portrait mode which is still there and works great. The other main selling point was the multi-shot, allowing you to take 15 photos in 5 seconds, this is also on the E710.

Another feature that the E700 didn't have was a video mode, the quality is not great as it is very jerky, however it is very, very good considering it's on a phone, you'll find it hard to find better video quality on a mobile phone.

Overall, this is a great phone, packed woth tons of features, buy it.

I Love The Samsung E710, Small Compact Easy To Use

I love the Samsung E710, small compact easy to use although there are not any games built in the phone, the ringtones are great and the camera is very good for a phone. Video capture is amazing and the style of the phone cannot be beat. Better than the Samsung e700.

One point you raised in your review is not entirely true. Look in the handsets menu under Vodafone Live!/My stuff/Games & more and you should find 4 pre-installed Java games.

The Samsung E710 Phone Is Outstanding. The Camera

The Samsung E710 Phone is Outstanding. The camera quality is fantastic and the videos are also high quality for a phone. The ringtones are very loud but when the phone is closed and you are in an area of high noise you can hardly hear it which is also very bad that you can't have the phone on ring and vibrate simultaneously. The outer screen can be used as a view finder when the phone is shut which is well cool and good for pictures of yourself. The GPRS on the phone is really fast which makes sending and receiving pictures just as easy as text messages. The infra-red is not great however. Although it is good for transferring files with a pc, you can only send numbers between phones and the phone must be a Samsung. Not having Bluetooth is a downside but the phone is great. It is light and small and very attractive. The best deal in the UK is at www.vodafone.co.uk - Choose the online 100 tariff and it is a 12 month contract at £15 a month with 100 xnet mins and 50 free texts. Overall I would give the phone 8.5/10

Best source. I recommend browsing from your phone as the main website is a joke.

magnum2k

Hello, can you tell me a website where I can download some 40poly tones for this phone with vibrating alert on them.

magnum2k

Hello, I just wanna ask, where can I download some of these ringtones so the vibrating feature works well even when the phone is ringing?

prince albert in a can

I have the E715, the American counterpart to this model. The only major differences are lack of video and the outside screen is monochrome, but all my friends and I love it. I wonder if the software is different on mine because if you go to sound settings then alert type you choose vibrating and it will vib a couple times b4 ringing. As for the ringtones mentioned big pimpin’ by Jay-z has the vib function on most phones.

desdesigner

I too found that vibrate and melody failed to work together which was a disappointment. I then found out that you can have melody and vibrate simultaneously. It is simply a question of which ringtone you use. Many 40poly tones that are made, which I have downloaded, contain the vibrate function. Have a butchers around the net and make sure there 40poly before you download.

I Got My E710 From Vodafone To Replace My Samsung

I got my E710 from Vodafone to replace my Samsung T100. I thought that it would have even more amazing graphics than my T100, well it doesn't.

Vodafone have replaced the samsung firmware with nasty vodafone ones.

Basicly red and gray badly designed graphics and screensavers to give you nightmares!! Fonts are tiny, everything is boring. Fancy doing that to this phone.

I've seen the original software on this site www.mobile-review.com/review/samsung-e710.shtml and it unbelievable what vodafone have done to this phone.

I dislike it so much that I have put it away till I can sell it when my contract runs out.

I have now got the Samsung E700 sim free and it's lovely!!

As I Had Owned Samsung E700 Before, I Ordered This

As I had owned Samsung E700 before, I ordered this one with confidence and just couldn't believe what Vodafone has done with it!

Here I am, holding one of the most advanced mobiles on the market and also one of the most expensive ones, yet I can not even do the simplest of things such as changing the color scheme! Instead, in place of the most beautiful graphics I have ever seen (E700), I have to look at the ugly Vodafone color scheme, plain white background, simplified icons and plain font... And that is only the beginning. Even though this is a pay monthly phone, Vodafone has locked it and censured virtually everything. It is difficult to get around their home page, and as I hear/read, it is even more difficult to upload games, tones or anything else unless it is done through the Vodafone Live site.

Needless to say, I am not putting up with this and will be returning the phone but will also migrate to some other more sensible network.

P.S.

There is a design fault on these: The flash LED gets too close to plastic frame when the phone is fully opened and light blue haze will appear in the lower left corner of the photos.

Yes I agree with you, I had the Samsung T100 and when my contract ran out joined vodafone and got the Samsung E710, boy are the graphics ugly, Vodafone have killed this lovely phone with their gray and red software.

I have now sold my T100 and a couple of other thing to buy the samsung E700, it is fab!! Lovely samsung software on it. I will be selling the E710 as soon as my contract ends as it's living in its box, unused.

PS Anyone know if the E710 is available SIM free?????

I Got The Samsung E710 In Mid-june, After Searchin

I got the Samsung E710 in mid-June, after searching around desperately for a phone complete with video that wasn't a brick. The E710 is fantastic - the camera and video are both great and the ringtones are really clear. There are many features and it is an amazing phone. The stylish design sets it apart from other flip phones and there is also no arial! The only down side is the extremely poor battery life - especially after using the camera or video. Mine usually lasts 3-4 days - and that's with being switched off at night.

The Samsung E710 Really Is An Excellent Mobile Pho

The Samsung E710 really is an excellent mobile phone, with many great features, very beautiful design, very handy, nice reception, photos are really good quality and colour, the menus are very easy to use, most of the ringing tones which are provided with the phone are not very good, but more can be downloaded via the internet. The LED lights are very useful, the LED flashes when the phone loses its signal. It's useful to know that we are in the signal area. Samsung has created a new type of internal antenna it calls an Intenna. The Intenna is a convergence design innovation, which includes the traditional functions of antennae, like the receiving function. It receives and transmits voice, data, images, and email, over a global wireless internet based network. All while being neatly concealed inside the phone. It's really worthwhile to have a great phone with many useful features with a handy and stylish phone.

Battery is not that good lasting.

One minor correction: You can transfer images and sounds via infra red using an IrDA (Infra-red Data Association) device coupled with the latest version of Samsungs PC suite (Easy GPRS 2.1.8).
