To be fair its not the fastest v6 engine on the market, but it certainly does the job. But, putting the engine aside the extras you get as standerd are really good - a/c, 18" alloy wheels, st body kit, cruise control (usually only 2004/05 upwards), front & rear heated windows and a 460 ltr boot space and mines has full leather interior, the list can go on. The figures aren't great to be honest. you should with careful driving get 37mpg but I have been getting 42.1mpg, around town these figures will drop to 28mpg. 0-62 is done in 8.6 finishing on 140mph (atleast). insurance group 15. Over all great family car, and great car for when you want a bit of fun. These engines will take you to the moon and back, leaving there rivals way behind (rivals - vectra sri, laguna dynamic, and even the bmw 325 for value for money).

well i have only had my estate a week now, had range rovers and all the performance cars in the past like the cosworth and so on...
as for the zetec s..performance is not like some are suggesting as being exciting to get into? obviously never driven a quick car lol but got to say the engine and drive is very very smooth.its a pleasure to drive! fuel economy not that bad either if driven in a sensible manner, as for being the estate its so practical with a family and good value for money overall with the usual refinements....well worth the money IMHO

i bought this Ford Mondeo Zetec 2nd hand in sept. 2008 with under 30000 on the clock, it was a finance repo. and had stood a while but needed very little work apart from a new back bush (which appears a common fault) and the washers were blocked. it also needed a new set of tyres on which i got a very good deal.it was fortunate that i bought it at a time everyone was panicing about large engined petrol motors. i am certainly glad i took the pluge it is a great car with terrific performance it certainly makes these boy racers look silly perfomance wise and has a great exhaust note when opened up.

Ford Mondeo Zetec s 2,5 v6 is a great car, performs really well, sounds fantastic. Ireally get excited to drive it. Very comfortable and great handling. It looks so good. Fuel costs are low if you welly it, but dont welly it!! if you drive it nicely at a steady 70 it will do close to 40 mpg. but less than 25 around town. Great stereo sytem, overall I prefer this to my ex company BMW 320i by far.

We love our car. it was top of the range when we bought it before the ST came out. It has 150 on the clock and lets just say it goes........ we could have sold it time over, but we wont be. ITS NOT FOR SALE. Being petrol and v6 2.5 its a drivers car and performance.

I feel I have been unlucky. I have had a few problems but love this sporty all rounder and hope to own the Ford Mondeo Zetec for many years to come. It's expensive to maintain but it looks good, drives great and feels the biz.

I go without a couple of luxuries to keep my 2.5 litre Ford Mondeo Zetec V6 in tip top condition. Bought it without testdriving it on the recommendation of a friend who had a saloon and have never regretted it. It had 28k on the clock and now has 42. I can't imagine parting with it, its the only car I have ever owned that I still feel excited to get into every morning.

Got mine for £4500 with 50,000 miles on it. It has had careful owners before it and is mint condition. I cannot see how I could have got more car for my money. This is amongst the best cars I have owned. I wasn't interested in the boy racer style ST version as I'm 34 year old. I went for the Zetec S and its the right balance of looks but not overdone. Ford Mondeo's on the whole are very safe cars. I wash and wax mine by hand every week. I look after it, it looks after me. This car really is my pride and joy and I had a 5 year old BMW3 series before it. The Mondeo is as good if not better for half the cash! Buy one of these!

The Ford Mondeo Zetec is an excellent, sporty saloon car. Very well equipped and useable, all in all a good combination of looks speed and safety.

Even though the Mondeo has been around now for a while, it still is a good looking, and generally all round, good family car. Beware the fuel consumtion if you don't like visiting the pumps. Don't complain if you buy one, and feel it is expensive to run, remember you are driving a V6.
Wheels need careful checking due to corrosion around the valve area (originals had steel ones which react with the alloy), replace with standard rubber valves. Ford did supply new wheels at 70% discount due to corrosion.
DON'T RISK ANY CAR WITH METALLIC/PERAL PAINT IN A CARWASH. Wash by hand and chammy off. Paint looks awful with swirl marks.
