I have given them a few chances and each time they failed. The clarity of areas of their website is appalling, probably intentionally so, so clients are deceived (e.g. hiding delivery estimated dates if they are longer than what one would expect). Their third party sellers are untrustworthy, slower than they promise and slow to respond, and Play.com just don't care. Each time I have been forced to involve Play.com because third party sellers have performed poorly and then not responded appropriately and taking a long time to do so. Play.com however would consistently take even longer though and then just send off a standard 'paste-and-go' response. NEVER BELIEVE THE DELIVERY ESTIMATES and you're likely to find each product cheaper elsewhere anyway. I cannot see how a company can operate like this and hope it cannot do so for much longer, either vastly improving or dying a fast and humiliating death. WORST INTERNET COMPANY EVER.

I used to shop at play.com all the time but never again. Since they started with this 3rd party rubbish their prices have gone through the roof! It's blatant profiteering. I had a few vouchers I needed to spend and decided to buy a console, play.com sellers were selling it with £100 mark up compared to the sellers own website, when I questioned the seller they stated it was to cover play.coms commission. Thanks but no thanks!!!!!!!

Ordered a cd from www.play.com on 16th June, only for them to incorrectly inform me that my payment card had been declined. So, re-ordered the cd on 18th June, unaware the first order was on its way. Although, it got worse, as www.play.com sent my second order to my former address, forcing me to drive a considerable distance, and ask the new occupants for it back. I contacted play's customer service to complain and demanded a refund, and was met with a very unhelpful response, more of a customer dis-service really. Play.com claim that my former address is still listed as my delivery address, despite my new address clearly shown on my account page as my delivery address, and that they'll merely refund my return postage once I've parcelled the cd and hiked down to my local post office, and scanned the proof of postage and emailed it back to them. No apology for incorrectly telling me payment card had been declined, and no apology for the inconvenience caused afterwards. My advice to any potential play.com customer, is to look elsewhere - as there are so many alternatives to dealing with this outfit.

I used to love Play.com and if i had a problem the telphone staff were quick and poliet infact they were top class. Now from they have changed to 3rd party selling it is rubbish. I placed an order from zoverstocks on 19th May, it was supposed to have been sent on 21st May. today 2nd June and still no game. I have sent loads of emails, contacted play.com I have had no reply form zoverstocks and play.com on their help chat just told me to wait. If i had know i would have bought elsewhere

We signed up to Play.com as a merchant in December 2013, and have to say as a merchant it has been the biggest waste of money. Their systems are not user-friendly and comprise of having to fill out excel spreadsheets to get products listed followed by messing account with yet more spreadsheets. Play then told us if we use a Channel Unity we will be able to automatically upload products from our inventory database. Obviously as nothing had gone to plan up to now this failed and resulted in 2-3 months of constant e-mails and getting nowhere. After three months of getting nowhere I tried to complain just to be told that the start up team are no longer handling my account and that I would have to contact my account manager. This was news to me as we had not been told that we have an assigned account manager and at no point did they contact us. We had to make the first contact and complain to them, not to mention during the three months of trying to get the account set up not once did the start-up team contact us to ask if we needed help, we had to phone them near enough daily and complain to them. We decided to post a complaint about play and to no surprise we suddenly got a phone call apologizing and asking if we could remove the complaint, in return they extended our account a few months and promised to sort out some free marketing. As we thought at last progress we agreed to remove the complaint, however we are now back at stage 1. We have paid for Marketing on Play and have received no conversions from it, 6 months in with over 700 listings and 600 of those being unique products we are hardly covering our costs and no surprise they have failed to do the free marketing as promised. Customers – Please don’t blame the Merchants (sellers), plays system is unfriendly and full of faults and often tells incorrect tails of customers orders.

Purchased a highchair online & estimated delivery was up until a week later. Once the week had past & no highchair I e-mailed baby.com asking when they expected to deliver...no reply! A few days later I emailed again but still no reply so then I spoke to a sales person on live chat & apparently they had none in stock & estimated delivery would be in 4 months time!!!! When I asked why they'd given me the wrong delivery dates was told not their fault & I could contact the seller. I requested a refund which I am now waiting for. Never buy from this company!!!!

jigsaw puzzles with 400% mark up, priced at £45 and over. When I got in touch with Play.com they said to get in touch with sellers I got in touch with one of the sellers shop4usb who were quite happy to confirm that there was no pricing error and were selling a 500 piece jigsaw for £45.26 Absolute robbery for vulnerable shoppers' surely there is some kind of law against this practice will be perusing this

I was trying to get some MP3's from them last night, for half an hour their system was telling me my card details are wrong and then my order wasn't showing up anywhere in there either. Meanwhile it's all deleted from the basket. So I quit and go buy 'em from itunes and amazon. 4-5 hours later they send me an automatic email saying they've managed to process the payment and it's all available in my account. I contact their support to tell them to remove the MP3s from my download area because I'm not going to use them and issue a refund right away, because I did not at ANY point authorise them to keep trying to bill me. Their system failed 3-4 times to take my payment when I wanted to buy from them, they can't just go ahead and try later on my behalf. Guess what, the refund is going to take 3-5 business days to be processed! I lost nearly 2 hours trying to sort this out and they've still got my money....

Used Play.com for years and never again. Since company sold, service is terrible. Don't waste your money as the order takes weeks to process and never arrives. Gives online services a bad name and maybe the high street is he way to go from now on. At least when payment is made the goods are handed in fair exchange.....

If you can at all use an alternative like Amazon, please try them before using Play.com. I had a problem with one of their partners Base.com that was made worse by Play.com's awful account interface. When there was a problem with the order they were just completely unhelpful and I ended up just closing my account (and they still haven't managed to do that properly yet). Given that big companies should be getting better and better at this type of thing, Play.com just seems to get worse and worse and they genuinely don't seem to give a toss. They wasted my time and took my money quickly enough.

So now you are at the mercy of suppliers, unable to contact Play.com and no longer any help; merely suggestions. Just how are they still in business. I feel very sorry for the play traders who are really worth trading with. So now I will switch all my trade to E-Bay where possible, Such a shame

Play.com used to be my favourite site for buying DVDs and blu-rays but now that's changed! Not only are the delivery times unbelievably slow but there's no longer any customer service for all the traders that now trade under 1 mask! And that's now what it is - a mask for lots of small retailers who don't want to deliver good customer services or look after there customers. They don't have to accept any responsibility when it comes to dealing with customers. I might as well use amazon from now on cos while that might be a similar set up, at least the delivery times will be better.

Have Play.com stopped trading? I cannot get further with my order than the basket. I have tried to phone them but just get endless music without an answer and when I emailed them it bounced back and could not be delivered. Even if I could proceed with my order I wouldn't risk it now and would not trust them to deliver.

as the title, this site use to be good and now its very poor, shame on you play.com for deciding not to compete with other companies such as amazon!! they were very popular and now not
