The 14 vignettes in Joel Kostman's Keys to the City: Tales of a New York City Locksmith, just wet my appetite. Some are very everyday, some downright strange. Admittedly, I found a couple of them a tad boring, but for the most part, as the stories track the author from a rejected young lover to a father, from a young locksmith to one with 20 years experience, the reader gets the sense of the author and of New York City from an insider's viewpoint.
A quick read, enjoyable, homey, and humorous. I am still wondering what all the old guys were doing - sitting around naked in an overheated apartment in mid-winter. I'd like to see more from Joel Kostman.
