I bought the Decca DDV2120 for £179, each DVD works out at £1.70 each which is good value if you then consider the player is thrown in for free. The DVDs are not the latest blockbusters but are not too bad

Purchased package of the Decca DDV2120 DVD player and 102 DVD movies from Powerhouse Oct 2002. Not exactly Oscar winning movies but hey, less than £1 a film for an instant collection. £199 the lot.
Warning, some movies may not play too well - had one that kept locking up but when played on a friends Sony, played perfectly.
An interesting stopgap measure until the recordable DVD's start to become more reasonably priced.

I totally agree with comments made. Some discs are not read by this machine, but are on others?! There is a remote control hack to unlock/access factory settings for this player at dvd.reveiwer.co.uk - they might also be able to provide help with vcd problems

Why isn't there an ident anywhere on the player or documents that tells you where it's made?

Still can't get this player to play svcd or vcd. There is a bit for vcd on the display but I can't access any hidden menu's. Does anyone know how to play them?
