Generation X Is An Excellent Book That Reveals Mor

Generation X is an excellent book that reveals more about common people. Ordinary people who are dissatisfied with their lives being commercialized. The three main characters, Andy,(the main character and narrator), Dag and Claire move to a desert to find their own meaning of life. For non-English readers, I think it is an excellent book for its phrases, idioms, etc.

Douglas Coupland, Generation X: Tales For An Accel

Douglas Coupland, Generation X: Tales for an Accelerated Culture - This is the novel that coined the phrase. It's about a group of twenty-somethings fed up with their so called "McJobs" who decide to drop out of society, move to a small town and search for more meaning in their lives. It pretty much set the standard for all of Coupland's subsequent novels and follows his usual themes. A group of characters, with deep flaws but still likeable, try to find meaning and happiness in their lives. It is, as with every Coupland novel, easy to read, funny and touching and frankly it really does a great job of summing up the fears and ethos of the generation it describes.

Most people find they either love Coupland's work or they hate it, but I am always gripped by his tales and Generation X is one of his best.
