The Outsiders is a beautifully written story, full of deep characters and a forever deepening plot.

Good details. The part that i liked the most was when Johnny died, his death was so deep and sad. Also how Pony was the one who wrote the book for his homework.

I loved how S.E. Hinton keeps you on your toes... She keeps it interesting with a twist. For example: Johnny dies, and Dally cannot take it. He storms out looking for trouble. Meantime, Ponyboy got a ride home from a stranger. When Pony gets home, he tells the gang about the news of Johnny's death. And the gang asked where Dally was. Pony told what had happened. Two-Bit said, "Well he finally broke." Right after the gang finds out, Dally calls and tells him that he robbed a store and is coming to the lot, the fuzz is on his tail. They need to hide him. When the gang gets up there Dally stops points his unloaded gun at the police officer, and the police officer shoots him. Dally falls to the ground and dies. Then to top things off, Pony's (because of the rumble) head is bleeding bad and he passes out for 3 days! 'What a good chapter! :). One bad thing though is right after something maraculous happens, they go into a really boring conversation.... It kind of gets on my nerves.

I think anyone of all ages should read this book. I believe that this book can make the most meanest man on earth have a change of heart because of S.E Hinton's message in this book. The book changed my heart, before I read this bookI used to hurt my friends for like a joke, Now i try not too. I recommend this book to anyone. That's why i give S.E Hinton's book The Outsiders a 10 out of 10.

I bought S.E. Hinton, The Outsiders by pure coincidence; the cover looked interesting. And let me tell you, it was fate! You can not put it down. Reading it you experience a flood of emotions; happiness, compassion, hate, anger, sadness, angst...the list goes on. It tells of the hard life, and how it changes you, of barriers overcome and new understanding of life. If you read this, you will never be the same again, but in a good way! I would recommend it to anybody, my best friend, family, even the person I meet on the street! This book and everything that goes with it, will stay with you for the rest of your life.
