Penelope Farmer, Charlotte Sometimes

Charlotte Sometimes is about a teenage girl who has just gone off to a boarding school where she experiences all the troubles of a new girl plus more. Somehow she has swapped places with a girl called Clare from 1918.

The book has a slow and unclear start and you can easily become misled. Though once you have gotten into it the pace starts to quicken and the plot increases tension as the days go on. The ending is very touching but not as exciting as the rest of the book.

At first I found the book dull and confusing but by the end of it did not want to put it down.
