Paul Pascoe, York Notes on Poems from Different Cultures and Poems of Different Cultures (York Notes)

I would definitely recomend this to a friend it really is worth it!

I am currently studying for my GSCE English exam and one part of one of the exams involves answering a long question on these poems. When I got the York Notes on Poems from Different Cultures and Poems of Different Cultures notes I did'nt know if they would help me, but now I can say they definately are. I think I have got a deep understanding of all of the poems and the techniques that the various authors use to convey them. Not only does it discuss each of the poems at length, but gives hints on how to improve your writing techniques and improve your grade. The only bad point was that in my school we only study one of the two clusters of poems so some of the material was unhelpful, but this varies from school to school. Overall a very useful book, as is the one covering the post-1914 poems.
