Peter Robb, Midnight in Sicily - I lived in Italy as a diplomat for 5 years. Only after reading this book I finally understood what I did not understand or didn't want to understand during all those years. I adore Italy but now I see Italy with a different view. I wonder when will this book be translated to Italian (I guess never). Robb knows how to write a documentary drama and how to tell and beautifully describe it. A sheer joy. A brave man. I wish I could e-mail Robb and tell him more interesting things from my experience.
