We Ordered An Oak Sideboard From A Display At The

We ordered an oak sideboard from a display at the Grand Designs exhibition a few years back; staff were friendly and helpful in answering all of our questions.

We were very impressed with the quality of the sideboard for the price. It did take a while to deliver but this was expected and sales staff had made this clear to us prior to our purchase.

The sideboard is still in great condition and remains my favourite piece of furniture in our home.

Appalling Customer Service

Direct Interiors is a company for whom customer service is clearly an alien concept. They have no qualms about keeping you waiting for months for your order without keeping you informed in any way about its progress.

We ordered an oak table & 6 chairs from them at the Ideal Home Show in Manchester on 6th June 2015, paying a £200 deposit. At no time was there any mention of the fact that these tables were imported from China, nor any indication that they could not be delivered as soon as we wished. In fact we agreed to an August delivery date, which was marked on the order sheet as 'Deliver August (Not before)'.

We duly sold our existing dining table and chairs on Ebay in July, and phoned Direct Interiors to arrange the August delivery. We were then told that the new table/chairs would not even arrive from China till 14th September. China?? This was the first we'd heard about China.

Trying to contact Direct Interiors on their 0845 phone number is a nightmare. Whenever I phoned it rang and rang and there was no reply, leading me to think the whole thing had been a trick. There were no replies to voicemails I left. When you do get through and explain how long you've been waiting for your goods to be delivered, their attitude is one which can only be described as righteous indignation. It was all my fault for not asking in the first place where the goods were coming from. And by the way, they never phone you to let you know what's going on.

After much wrangling, eventually I was told that my table would arrive in the country on 28th September. But at this point, they divest themselves of responsibility for it and hand over to their delivery agent, Furdeco, whose business it is to pick the goods up and subsequently deliver them to you. So now you have to start phoning Furdeco instead. Do not forget that your contractual relationship remains with D.I. and it should be their business to ensure prompt delivery. Instead, all I got was confused messages from both parties. D.I. then have the gall to insist on payment in full before they will agree to delivery.

Again after a series of phone calls, email messages and text messages, all of which indicated confusion and lack of organisational care, my table & chairs were delivered on 22nd October, a full 20 weeks since I ordered them, and after 3 months of dining off a temporary fold-up table.

I must be fair and say that the table & chairs are beautiful quality when they eventually came, but it was just a hugely frustrating process getting them.

Very Poor Customer Service

The furniture is of fantastic quality but when there was a supply problem with one part of our order it took a further 5 months to get this item. Even then the delivery company Furdeco that they used were a complete fiasco. Twice they told me the furniture was definitely on the lorry only to be told at the end of each of the days that in fact it wasn't. Then when they finally did deliver it they refused to unpack it and put in place and left a VERY heavy piece of oak furniture in our hallway. At least Direct Interiors sent them back to put it in place but the whole saga has been so stressful that I would never recommend this company to anyone else.

Worst Company Ever Dealt With

Bought table 4 chairs and sideboard. Shocking condition!!!! Don't bother with these guys _ one star is too generous!! They shouldn't be trading. Go to Oakland Furniture. Seen better furniture in charity shops.They don't want to know once they have hold of your money.

No Refunds, No Aftercare, Quality Worse Than Fence Panels!!

Delivery dates do not exist... when you do finally receive your goods they are not all there. Opening the packaging you are disappointed to see the quality as there are numerous scratches, gouges/gashes out of the wood and even large cracks on your oak furniture. When you ring customer services (and get actually speak to someone) they advise that you need your brand new furniture repaired. I DON'T THINK SO! Surely if you are spending hard earned money on what they call quality furniture, then it should not have to be repaired. They advertise that they are cheaper than any web site / high street retailer and obviously this is why, as the quality is terrible. Getting any money back from this company is a no no as they will continuously tell you it is repairable. Before I made this purchase I would have liked them to explain specifically to me about items being repaired and not refunded. Make sure you read the terms and conditions first, even though they will find a loophole. AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Absolutely Terrible Service

I ordered a set of coffee tables in November 2014 and was told that if I could wait till early January for delivery then it would really help them as they were busy over the Christmas and New Year period, so I obliged. It now March and still no tables, I have since the middle of March called Direct Interiors and spoken to sales 4 times and customer services 3 times with no resolution, no call backs and no solutions. They still have my deposit which I can not seem to get back. I would very much like a resolution, however Direct Interiors are not interested. They are happy to take my money and provide a terrible service.

Exactly The Service You Want From An Online Furniture Store

Found our way to the Direct Interiors website from a Google search when we were looking for new oak furniture for our new property. Brilliant range of items at the best price we found after extensive research. Spoke with the very helpful and friendly staff to confirm our order of 6 items and they were fantastic. They even allowed us to pay a deposit so that they would hold the items until we move in. Would definitely use them again in the future if we need any other items and will definitely recommend to friends and family.

You were very lucky. We ordered in January and paid in full for an item that had a 2-3 week delivery window and on 21 April I am still waiting!!! They won't return calls or respond to emails. Won't return my money either.

Quality Furniture, Excellent Service

I bought my bedroom furniture through direct interiors after seeing them at an exhibition. The quality is fantastic and is good value. I researched quite a few companies before placing my order and this company were the best value for money. The staff were very knowledgable and happy to help. Would recommend to anyone and will be buying more from them.
