“Terrible !”

written by Darian321 on 14/03/2024

I am extremely dissatisfied with the level of service provided by Autoglass. Nearly 4 weeks from reporting the issue to getting a resolution. 2 failed appointments. Really poor communication. The branch and call centres giving mixed communication. The glass got fitted on 14/3/24 at depot. It was supposed to be at my home however technician told me it wouldn’t get done unless I brought it into depot after a mix up Really poor. Will try and avoid using this company again

Have complained several times and spent hours on phone plus email, but no ownership from Complaints team to resolve, or technician sent to inspect

“Awful”

written by Maxwellkd245 on 21/02/2024

Customer service was rubbish. First time man didn’t even show up second time man had an attitude of I’m not doing the work. First excuse was he couldn’t replace my windscreen because of ‘excruciating weather conditions’ which was grey skys and slight drizzle which stopped. We then gave him a large open space garage which fits 2 cars in side which he said he didn’t want to park on our private land incase it was a public road. Which I assured him we owned but he still refused to do it. The man from Bath- had no intention of fitting our windscreen and we are appalled with the service yet again so going elsewhere to replace our glass they said they would do 6 weeks ago.

“How can you treat someone like this?”

written by Rwittleton on 20/02/2024

Hate to sound hyperbolic, but these people are bad. Waited a week for the repair, when the engineer came out he has managed to break my boot lock. Meaning the boot will not open. He shrugged this off and stated I would need to sort it before he could conduct the glass repair, despite the fact it was working before he came. He had taken my internal wall of my boot apart and seemingly snapped the mechanism within the lock. He then left my car in this state, with all the parts and glass just lying in the boot, with nothing but a bit of thick clingfilm over the hole that they call temporary glazing. I have been quoted almost £300 to have it repaired from two Seperate garages. Autoglass have been useless since. Since this occurred I have had to move house without a boot, my 1 year old daughter has to sit in the back seat of the car where there is still risk of loose glass flying off. It has now been two weeks and I have been relentlessly trying to get autoglass customer services to help me. The back of my car is getting damp, and it is freezing in the back for my daughter. Everytime I call I get asked the same questions, and get told that someone is due to give me a call back, but no-one does. I have had 3x managers on different occasions promise to give me a call back (one even stated they would do it after their meeting will take 10 minutes). I get put on hold so often that I have now racked up over three hours of phone calls after 20+ different calls attempted. One lady assured me she was putting me through, I was on hold for 20 minutes, only for it to be the same woman who answered the phone on the other side. This is honestly the worst customer experience i have ever had with any company. I feel like they are deliberately trying not to take responsibility for this. Despite their actions putting me in financial arrears, and putting my child's health and safety at risk. I am now desperate, I am a 24 year old man and I honestly feel like crying. This has caused me some serious stress that is effecting me day to day.

The worse customer services ever, a simple glass replacement will now take 3 weeks??, The engineer called in sick and my vehicle was not rebooked apparently that was my job? Can someone explain, because I can't make any sense of this process. I wish I could have rated a -10, my vehicle which is not secure, and unable to drive, which has totally ruined my holiday plans. Thank you autoglass

On September 17th a thief smashed the rear window of my car. It’s now December 9th and the glass has still not been replaced. Autoglass is a disgrace to deal with. Horrendous experience. Don’t use them.

“Let down by poor customer service!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AutoglassRepair on 23/10/2023

Found crack in our motorhome windscreen on the day we were due to go on holiday in it. Our motorhome insurance company deal with autoglass so they made an appt for them to replace it, which at the earliest was to be 5 days later. This incurred us a cancellation fee for our holiday & to rebook for the holiday to start on the promised day of fitting new windscreen. We never received the promised phone call from autoglass giving us a time on the day so had to chase them up. Told it wouldn’t be before 2.30 so had to amend the time if our arrival at holiday destination. At lunchtime we then received a call from autoglass technician to say his partner hadn’t turned up for work so they were unable to fit a new windscreen until at least tomorrow. This has now cost us another cancellation fee. Feel completely down by poor customer service, not to mention cost of having to cancel & rebook holiday twice!

“Expensive, poor fitment, non-genuine parts”

★☆☆☆☆

written by SergiuP on 12/10/2023

Pathetic customer service from Autoglass, clueless and zero effort to resolve an issue they have created. Poor standards for repair too, as the door panel doesn’t sit well, clips appear to have been broken and the pieces of broken glass inside the door haven't been removed, which could cause damage to the mechanisms inside the door. Had a simple job to replace two side windows, the driver’s window and the rear vent. My insurer booked an appointment with Autoglass directly after Autoglass asked me to call my insurer prior. All confirmed, good to go and the excess was paid straight away. They replaced the driver's window first, as the small rear vent window was on backorder. We agreed that I would go back to their branch when the second glass would arrive. I got a call a few days later and they asked me to pay another excess and make a full claim. I told them that there must have been a mistake since I already had an appointment for the two windows, and I was only waiting for the rear vent window to arrive at the branch. They insist that I need to make a full claim and won’t continue with any work. Rather arrogant, and rude at times. Two weeks pass and every time I call, I get answers like: “We’ll investigate with the billing department and call you back in no later than 48h.” I followed up with them 3 days later, the same story, "We’ll call you back in 48h". Finally, they called and said that unless I make a new claim and pay another excess, they won’t continue with the work, despite confirming every time that they can see when a gentleman from my insurer called and approved the repair for the two windows under one claim. It is frustrating to hear in the same call, seconds apart: “We can see when this was approved under one claim” and then, in the same call, “But it shows in my system that you need to call your insurer and make a new claim”. My insurer confirmed every time that they approved the work under Windscreen cover with one claim and that Autoglass should carry on with the work. Autoglass knew all the details, the make of the car, the model and what needed to be done. I have been looking for alternatives and getting quotes and found out that Autoglass are almost twice as expensive compared to the main dealer and they don't use genuine glass. More expensive, cheaper parts and poor fitment. They were the first option from my insurer, and I assumed it was the easiest way. Far from it. Now, not only that I already paid the excess and used my windscreen cover, but I also need to make separate arrangements for the second glass to be fixed. Also, another appointment to fix the door panel that Autoglass couldn’t fit properly. I asked for an email to clarify the work completed on my car so far and why they don’t want to continue with the work as agreed initially. It should arrive in 2-3 working days. "Can’t be bothered" attitude at its best. Don’t take them for granted and shop around before. Otherwise, it could cost you a lot more money, time wasted and a tonne of stress. Despite some very nice people I talked to, who seemed genuinely interested in resolving this. “Can’t be bothered” describes best most of the customer service as well as the actual work on the car.

“OH MY GOD!!!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by instarobuk on 09/10/2023

The only way to review Autoglass is to give it a star, however, in reality, this 1 star should be a -5 in my honest opinion. Back in April, I had a windscreen replacement done, to be honest, at the time I couldn't fault any part of the process. This is, until now! Last week I sadly had to have another windscreen fitted due to a crack but the engineer last week was not able to fit the screen due to the inferior workmanship of the engineer back in April. A large amount of damage to the aperture was made back in April making it impossible to fit the new windscreen. A huge split had been made all the way through, and the engineer did nothing about it apart from covering it up by somehow making the screen fit. I was told that the car was in effect left in an unsafe condition and the screen could have come away easily at any time and was certainly in no way safe as the screen was in effect, NOT properly fitted! My car was new to me, I had it new, less than 2 years ago and have looked after it to the fullest. My intention was to keep it this way and hopefully never have any work done to it apart from service, MOT etc, the norm. Now though it has to have major rework done to it so will never feel the same and will always feel that the work done, which I am sure will be done to the highest standard, will actually not be as safe as it was if it hadn't been reworked. The area will indeed feel weaker than it should be. How many more windscreens have been ill-fitted? how many more cars are driving around in unsafe conditions due to Autoglass engineers not caring and covering up damage and poor workmanship, putting people's lives at risk!? I was told that this is a sackable offence but will Autoglass do anything about it? Yes, they will get the work done to my car but that will be it! Other than that though, NOTHING will get done and that engineer will probably still fit screens with an 'I DON'T CARE ATTITUDE' So, why the hell should I have to pay my excess and have my insurance affected? Will Autoglass accept liability and refund my excess, ideally both April and this one? I doubt it because frankly, like their engineer, they won't care Sadly, most if not all insurance companies use Autoglass, and THAT is why they won't care about this or any other job/person out there!

“AVOID THIS COMPANY ”

written by qyHarvey185 on 12/09/2023

Had our car broken into. Autoglass are our insurance companies approved repairer. Took the car to them to make it "secure". Two bits of plastic that you can put your hands through so not exactly secure. Took them 3 weeks to get pieces of glass. One piece correct and fitted one piece incorrect and still to this day not fixed. Rang them and rang them. Now they see quoting the 21st October for repair. So 10 weeks for a side glass panel on an estate car. Their answer well if you are not happy with us fo elsewhere. Avoid this company at all costs.

“INCOMPETENT VANDALS - AVOID AT ALL COSTS!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by IAmUriel on 08/09/2023

On June 13th an Autoglass technician attended my vehicle at my home address to replace the rear quarter driver-side window of my F Type Coupe. When the Autoglass technician arrived at my property, he openly admitted to never having performed such a replacement on an F Type before. Naturally, this immediately raised concerns, and I expressed my worry regarding his lack of experience. In response, he reassured me that he could rely on instructional resources such as YouTube if he encountered any difficulties. With reluctance, I allowed him to proceed with the task, only to be confronted with a series of issues upon completion. To begin with, the technician informed me voluntarily that a cover piece, which was originally in place and concealed one of the bolts holding the window, was missing. Despite our thorough search, we were unable to locate the missing cover piece. Furthermore, I discovered that the chrome trim and bodywork surrounding the window had been damaged during the replacement process. Shockingly, the technician initially attempted to pass off this damage as pre-existing, but I was able to provide photographic evidence indicating the pristine condition of the trim prior to his intervention. Realising that he had been caught in a lie, the technician promptly admitted to causing the damage while removing the trim. He immediately contacted his head office, explained the situation, and assured me that a replacement part would be ordered and fitted without any cost to me. Three weeks after this incident, and despite my continuous efforts to follow up on the matter, I encountered significant difficulties in having the job scheduled and completed. During my phone conversations with Autoglass agents, I was repeatedly assured that the replacement trim had arrived, yet there was a complete lack of initiative in booking the necessary appointment. I was met with unfulfilled promises of call-backs, leaving me to chase up the job on my own. I later found that the same technician had damaged the leather trim, scratching a puncturing it during his botched repair. Then things got REALLY bad! Because of the nature and extent of the damage, the car had to be taken to a body shop to be repaired. It was dropped off on August 8th, 7 WEEKS after Autoglass brutally butchered my dream car outside my home. Three weeks later, I called the body shop as I had had no update on the fix. I was informed that due to the nature of the repairs required, the windscreen and roof now had to be replaced (!) because removing the chrome trim and windows broke the seals around these pieces. THREE MONTHS after the initial damage incurred on June 13th I got a call (Today - Sept 7th) informing me that the technician who arrived at the body shop to replace the screen had damaged the headlining of my vehicle. This also now has to be repaired and no one can tell me when the work will be complete. I have now not driven the car for 3 MONTHS, in which time I have spent £2,400 on repayments as well as not benefiting from the equivalent spend of £150 on insurance and £150 on road tax. I was looking forward to a wonderful summer of Caffeine & Machine socials and city breaks with my partner - but instead, I've been left with no car and I've lost an entire summer to these incompetent ****. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! And make sure, when you take out insurance, that Autoglass are not the one's who will be carrying out glass repairs in the event of a claim. If so, pick another insurer.

“Extremely disappointed ”

written by Ally8 on 21/07/2023

One of my windows was smashed by a criminal one night. I booked with Autoglass via my insurer, had to wait a whole week, inconvenient but I was ok with it. On the day, the person turned up 45 mins before (3:30pm) the time agreed as he hadn't been told by the booking department I had specified even though the slot was 4 to 7pm, I couldn't make it before 4:15pm. For both of us to then realise that they had also made a mistake with the order as the glass I had requested was tinted, not what he had. 10 days later now, they never got back to me as I was told they would that day. I emailed, phoned to be told it will now arrive in 2 weeks time as had to be ordered. I had to cancel my wknd away last week, now I have to cancel my first holiday in a very long time. Avoid Autoglass!!!

“Worst service ever!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by AnnieBank61 on 10/07/2023

I needed a windscreen fitted due to a crack appearing and with £100 excess was covered in my insurance. I added windscreen wipers as an addition. On booking, I found out it was a two week wait with Autoglass who I had to use, but was happy for them to come to me, so I waited, and every day the crack getting longer. The afternoon before the appointment two weeks later I had a message from Autoglass cancelling. On phoning the following day I was told they had only one guy who did the mobile windscreens, and he was ill so he no idea when I could get the car seen. I said I couldn't wait any longer, this meant I had to travel over 100 miles round trip. And lose a day's wage. I drove off the following day arrived at Autoglass and they fitted the windscreen no problem, but they had not fitted the wipers, and when I asked about it they found some wipers but did not correct wipers, the ones for my car are extra small! So they said I would be reimbursed. It was over £40, I had the expense of having to drive to them and lose a day's wage. I wanted reimbursement but they said there was no way they could do that at the site! But as I was worried the man promised he would email immediately to get it sorted. By the following day I still had no email confirmation from them, for the wipers that cost over £42. This is now 2 weeks later. I managed to speak to a real person who confirmed this was being dealt with and reimbursement went through for action on the 31st June, and yet a week later still nothing in my bank. And still no confirmation by email to let me know what's going on. Is Autoglass the only windscreen company? I hope not because I will be changing my insurance so I never have to deal with these people again.
