We made a booking to rent a car for one day in Santorini through SantoriniCarHir.com, we've got very good discounted price for our car, the staff are very friendly with good English speaking, they called me one day before to reconfirm the booking and delivered the car to our hotel on time. The car was in good condition, very clean! Car handling was very detailed, the representative marked all the existing scratches on the paper to make sure we'll not get any troubles for the previous scratches.

We booked via the web site and were met off the ferry from Crete with the car and were on our way in a few minutes. We dropped it off 3 days later at the airport and again handover took a couple of minutes immediately in front of the terminal. Very good price, excellent service and the car was ideal for the area. Thoroughly recommended.

I literally called Santorini Car Hire as I was on the ferry to Santorini in the hopes of securing a car -- and an automatic transmission at that.

Good service: Zaf from Santorini Car Hire offered great, on point service -- calling me immediately back and meeting me at the port with my desired car ready and (surprise!) it was a convertible! The vehicle was invaluable in getting around the island, and made the trip that much more pleasurable in being able to enjoy the sunshine with the top down and go where our heart's desired.

Good advice: Zaf gave us a great tip about how much to fill up -- he said it woudl be about 10 euro for our trip duration -- and he was right (I saved money by filling up to what he suggested instead of what I normally would do) - thanks for the suggestion.

Good ending: The last bit -- on our way back to the dock at the end of our trip, we called to say we were running late as we were still trying to rapidly finish our lunch. The wonderful generosity continued -- Zaf told us to take out time and he would be waiting to greet us. That was true.

A lovely place to hire a car -- Santorini Car Hire.

We picked the car up at the airport which made it so easy to get to our accommodation on the other side of the island. Having wheels enabled us a means to explore the whole island and get to some beaches. We went to restaurants that were not close and found some real gems on the beach. The car was easy to drive and being small made it easier to navigate the narrower roads and streets on Santorini. The service at the airport from the Santorini Care Hire rep was excellent and he made us feel very welcome and the process was hassle free. We would definitely hire a car from Santorini Car Hire again.

Hired a Suzuki Jimmy open top for a few days in July - the web site and follow up was very good and all terribly efficient - guys were there when the ferry came in and absolute non event>

BUT - car was quite old, a spoon full of petrol which made me quite anxious in driving up the winding road from the port AND brakes were not great at all - quite "spongy"

So - if you use them - make sure to ask for a newer vehicle and ensure that they at least leave you with a bit of petrol!

We hired a car for 2 days, mainly because public transport in Santorini is not that good everywhere. The service we got from the company was very good; they communicated with us all the way and the car was at the airport as promised. The condition of the car was not that good, but it did not let us down in any way, it was just old and used by many drivers.

Coming from South Africa where we drive on the left side of the road, we found the travelling in Santorini extremely difficult. In the first place the roads are very narrow and the lack of road markings made it very difficult to judge where to drive, especially with quad bikes, motor bikes and 4x4's on the road. In the second place we found the road signs totally inadequate, and if there was any it was in Greek! But this is not the company's fault, it's just a comment!

It would have helped if they left us a full tank of petrol, it's so much easier to fill it up again than to judge how much to put in to get it to the same level you received it in!

Professional, intelligent and correct with the agreed amount of the reservation.

I had hired a Chevrolet Matiz well in advance, online, which was a big saving.

The representative of the hire car company was waiting at the airport on arrival and the proceedings went very fast, the service was very friendly.

The choice of car was ideal for the sometimes very narrow roads and streets.

The car had already clocked up more than 40k kilometres and as a result of that it was a bit sluggish - no problem for me as I was on holiday and never in a hurry. Dropping off the car on leaving seemed to be a bit perculiar as the car had to be left in the car park unlocked with the keys under the driver's mat. Obviously evrything worked out fine and I would always try the company again ( hopefully soon! ).

Car was delivered to our hotel on time and paperwork was completed very quickly and efficiently. Advice was given on use of car and car parking.

Car itself was exactly as described and was presented clean and with fuel. No problems at all with vehicle.

We moved to a different part of the island during the hire but the collection from our new hotel went smoothly and there was no additional charge for the service.

I would have no hesitation in using them again or recommending them.

I would not recommend www.santorinicarhire.com (also known as, Emver based in Kamari) as my own experience with them has been extremely painful and unprofessional.

I have just had the most horrendous experience with the company where they have tried to charge me for pre-existing damage to their car. They then behaved in the most appalling manner when a day before we were due to return the car we were suddenly accosted by them on the street, where their behaviour was very intimidating and threatening towards us, shouting quite loudly and accusing us of crashing the car and causing the damage.

We also went to their office at Kamari in the hope of resolving the dispute, where we were once again met by the proprietor who was again very belligerent towards us in the most distasteful way.

This completely ruined the end to our holiday.
