“Dyson DC32 vs shark rocket upright”

★★★☆☆

written by AnnabellaIngram1972 on 14/10/2018

Although the Dyson has fairly good suction it has a very poorly designed head. It is designed with 2 1 inch by 1 inch tabs sticking backwards from the head. These always get caught on everything it the room including its own cord. This is highly annoying when using this machine. when compared to my shark rocket (which I only purchased for quick jobs, at half the price) the shark rocket has far more suction power and a better designed head. this head has so much suction power that at the edge that you need to make sure no cords are near as it will suck them in, where as the Dyson has almost no edge cleaning. Although the shark is a little top heavy, in my opinion it has the most bang for the buck at half the cost and almost double the suction.

“Nigel O'Hara only stock about 5% of their catalogue....”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Lucas338 on 22/04/2015

Nigel O'Hara only stock about 5% of their catalogue. Items marked as "Available" or "Available to order" mean they will order from the manufacturer (why two status's for the same thing? probably to make things misleading, they like doing this). It's now been 12 days since I ordered, no-sign of delivery, infact the order status still says "processing", I feel 12+ days to get stock from a manufacturer which is marked as "available" just isn’t acceptable in 2015. They have "LIVE SUPPORT"! Although what this really means is you can send an email through an online form which they will respond to in around 1-2hrs (if your lucky), again very misleading and is far from what the title suggests. Keep in mind this is a company that strives to hide there phone number, there’s several places on the website it says you can call them, but there is no number anywhere on their website, alarm bells ringing yet? Customer Service. I've had two reply’s using the "live support" system, both were very vague, trying to avoid the point, misdirect the conversation, push the blame, of no help whatsoever. Apparently it was my fault I didn’t understand it takes 12+ days for them to get stock marked as "available" from their manufacturer, although if you read reviews 99% of negative ones are based on 1. delivery time, (so I'm obviously not alone here) 2. poor customer servers & 3... what I'm about to come to now. Refunds! Now I can't comment on this yet, because I'm not calling them asking for a refund until tomorrow (it's Sunday as I write this). However as I've already experienced problem 1&2 of what most negative reviews concern, it wont surprise me if getting my money back is also going to be a problem. Story’s of 20-30+ days are pretty frequent in the negative review section, I guess time will tell....

“EXPENSIVE PIECE OF TRASH!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ShortyGU12 on 11/11/2013

A few years ago my husband and I bought a Dyson DC32 which is supposed to be specifically for animal hair. That is an absolute FLAT OUT lie. It does NOTHING of the sort. We have two cats and one dog - all three have a decent amount of fur that they shed year round and honestly, this "vacuum cleaner" does NOT live up to its name in any shape of form. I literally am pushing very hard down on the carpet to even bring up their fur away from the carpet - to the point to where I can feel the wood and teeth that HOLD the carpet to the floorboards and it STILL refuses to work. I literally have to pull it up BY HAND out of the carpet and then actually HAND FEED the fur INTO the stupid machine. Yes, it has a decent suction force but if the rest of the "vacuum cleaner" doesn't work then it's NOT a "vacuum cleaner" in any way at all. If I could give this company an infinite negative number rating, I'd do it an it'd make me feel a heck of a lot better - besides blowing up the one that we have of course! Not only that but the only "attachment" that actually STAYS on the stupid machine is the one in the picture because that actually CLIPS in. The others just kind of sit in it. I'm guessing Dyson just hoped that the "suction" of their so called vacuum "cleaner" would keep the other attachments on. This is not the case at all and they fall off every single chance they can get; especially when trying to actually vacuum with it. The only time they DO stay on is if the machine isn't turned on and it's left alone; to be looked at. My advice; buy a generic brand ASDA vacuum cleaner; I'm sure it will actually be a vacuum cleaner and not a sucking machine that makes a whole lot of noise for no reason other than to upset my dog. Screw you Dyson and I hope you go bankrupt.

“Nice vacuum, great performance, slightly heavy”

★★★★☆

written by on 19/12/2012

What a difference from our old electrolux, worth the investment! Bought this earlier in the year and has made a real difference to our home. Scary to see the dust and muck that collects in the easy to dispose container. Like the email reminders to wash the filter too> The only downside is it is on the heavy side and therefore my other half gets me to do the vacuuming!

“When I was deciding which vacuum cleaner to buy, I...”

★★★★★

written by rupal2 on 26/04/2011

When I was deciding which vacuum cleaner to buy, I came to the decision that it had to be a Dyson. Ever since I purchased my dyson, I haven't had any complaints. It is so easy to use, and really practical. Anytime I need to give the floor a quick vacuum or an intense clean, out it comes. A feature that is ideal, especially because this isn't the lightest dyson, is that it can sit on the staircase, so there is no need to hold it while you are vacuuming. It's great for the car too. It is on the pricey side, however there are some good deals out there. All in all, I couldn't be without my dyson.

If you call Dyson they can send you the part. Depending on whether it needs replacing because it's faulty or just missing or broken will decide whether you have to pay for the part or claim it free under their five year guarantee.

I personally haven't had any problems, but it does come with a long guarantee.
