“Money Card”

In March 2018 I received a money card from Tesco Mobile. On the run-up to Christmas, I lost the card. With having the card for such a long time I thought all was lost (£50) I contacted Tesco Mobile CEO's office and asked them if the card had a reference number. The reply I received back was "I am happy to replace the lost card can you send me your address" Well, I was gobsmacked, no debate, no fuss and the card arrived in time for Christmas shopping.

“Don't do it”

I have tried to cancel my contact which has 4 months left. I called 2 months ago and was told by the advisor I would pay £40 to change handsets but gave no information on any other charges. I was now told 2 months on it would be charged over £71 the explanation I got was the information got was for changing handset and not cancellation. That was not the conversation that I had I had called originally to get information on cancellation. My advice to anyone who wants to take out a contract with tesco mobile is think very carefully before you buy it would record any and all conversation that you have with all advisors. Very very disappointed

very disappointed I have try to cancel my acc. but I forgot my password so I went to the shop and took my passport and drivers licence and they told me to ring the customer service but they said the same thing I have to pass my security question
but I cant remember it.. and they said I have to keep ringing until I pass the security question.. but why cant they help me passport and drivers licence and bank details are all there and not enough ... I wish I didn't bother getting the contract from Tesco.

“Seriously disappointed”

Seriously disappointed........ As a customer for over 5 years, and one to which has spent many thousands of pounds, to find today that an insurance policy for a phone to which was replaced some 2.5 yrs ago and was cancelled is still being charged for from my bank. Speaking with your customers services and being escalated to a manager only to be told that you will provide a 6mth refund or if I was not happy with that, you will write to me and i can take this up with the ombudsman. This is really disappointing especially considering that by offering a 6th month refund you have admitted liability for charging for a service to which you have not provided, further to this i now need to follow an external process to resolve an issue to which you have caused. After 5 years as a loyal customer, i will be leaving your service, as will my partner and as will other friends and family I have referred to you. All because you failed to cancel a service which i did cancel and now you are not able to help with. Shocking Service. I will be contacting the ombudsman and will ensure that this feedback is left on every review site and means i have available online. I honestly thought you were a customer focused provider. Disappointed.

“Don't use the web form to contact them”

I'm leaving Tesco mobile after a year as there are better pay monthly deals out there and the reception is pretty poor (especially if you use more than 10MB in one sitting, the signal will drop from 4G to HSDPA). More importantly I just filled in a web form to inquire about a PAC code (and received a standard "sorry you're leaving" in response but no PAC code) and in the response were the security questions and answers I had to give to them initially, they also requested that I send them further security responses over un-encrypted email. Just wow... in an age where web security is paramount sending clear text security information in unencrypted emails beggars belief, especially in the wake of talktalk losing tens of thousands of customer details. I would recommend that if you are using Tesco and need to speak to customer services do it over the phone, using their on-line portal is a recipe for disaster.

“Wish i hadnt”

I signed up to a 24 month deal, all went well first month so i got my wife and son a contract on my account which give you a bonus. Then i had a problem which needed customer service and id wished i hadnt tied myself to them for 2 years. I got incorrect information time after time, false promises and so much goodwill credit im not 13 months into the contract and only paid the initial months charge for the 3 lines. It got to the point where i was being given that much goodwill credit i turned it down. Iv had £50 goodwill tesco voucher, £35 goodwill clubcard points and 12 months free usage on 3 lines. Your network provider shouldnt be this stressful, luckily id worked in the industry so know when the poorly trained staff are talking rubbish and claiming problems were something that it had no chance of being. My advice, go elsewhere. Its maybe been free for me so far but its took 20 years off my life with the stress.

“Tesco Mobile shirks / sucks.”

Tesco Mobile service provision includes issues of neglecting to act upon technical faults in the service. An example is a fault which overrode the designated ring tone on my mobile phone. When it was reported to Tesco Mobile it went through a charade of obfuscation, and duplicity. One handler would ask for entire history of involvement with Tesco mobile, every last registration detail, and security verification. And would then do nothing further, until pressed further, when the case would be passed on to the next person, and so on, and so on. Eventually I was advised by forwarded E-Mail that the matter was being referred to the 'engineers department' - however no remedial action resulted. The problem was narrowed down to the Tesco mobile service, after investigations by the land line provider (Kingston Communications) of Hull. Tesco Mobile acts in the manner exposed, whilst still presuming to lay claim to your continued custom; and to payment of the charges it stipulates; in return for a poor standard of customer service; and due diligence. N.B. Much the same as witnessed by Tesco Supermarket, as subject of recent times new programmes, current affairs, and documentary investigative programmes. Involving the type of behaviour (towards others) seen in the example of it's treatment of it's suppliers. And customs, and practices of dictating (reduced) level of payment of sums owing to suppliers. And of policy of (unlawful) late payments to suppliers of goods to Tesco. Caveat emptor.

“Avoid these cheats”

Utterly immoral company do not use. I ordered a phone on a two year contract. The phone never arrived . I called and emailed to let them know and cancel, they said they could not do this without a tescos mobile number - impossible since the phone didnt arrive. They then charged me for two years contract and repeately stated that they couldnt cancel my contract becuase a barr had been placed on it whilst thye investigated. When the case went to ombudsman they made up a mythical person who signed for this phone at my home address (after accepting that they had had this phone back at thier depot from ukmail) Im being chased for £178 for a phone i never recived but what makes it worse is the level of lying and cheating that is occuring , what kind of a company behaves so agressviely to customers. Dont use these guys no matter how good your deal looks as they really don't behave in the way your tesco stores do. No longer a trusted brand. Utterly stressful vile expereince.

“Truly awful”

I sent in my phone six weeks ago. It has been replaced by one locked to the Tesco mobile service that they seem unable to send an unlock code for. I have made fifteen or so calls to be repeatedly lied to about what is happening. I despair of this service and will not use Tesco again

Tesco Mobile offered me a great phone at a great price on contract. I have to say, the customer service is absolutely outstanding. The Live Chat and Twitter account is constantly being monitored and I got a reply in 2 minutes! Excellent!

“Felt like a thief !”

Saw great Deal in the Sun,ordered phone package,waited 2 weeks,no Phone.. rang to ask whereabouts? "we will look into it" £10 taken from my direct debit account,followed by demanding letters from Tescos debt collection agency!! OMG..Im so lucky kept all records,e-mails,letters,other-communications with Tesco phew!this enabled me to prove to the wolves I didn't get a phone,letters stopped.£10 lost. Thankfully I didn't cancel my superb Virgin account and kept my 6 year old brick ! BEWARE...

“Bad Service”

I bought a shiny new HTC One from Tesco Mobile, who had made much in their advertising of their customer service. It arrived without a Sim card.....when I called, and eventually got through, I was met with apathy....and told it would be 3-5 business days to get one sent.... When the sim card arrived they had sent the wrong one. I phoned to complain and was told 'we don't expedite theses things, we save money and use regular post, so another 3-5 business days'. So, incompetent in terms of delivery, apathetic in terms of customer service. DONT USE TESCO MOBILE.

“My bills almost quartered”

I moved from Vodafone to Tesco Mobile about 4 months ago (after being with vodafone for many years). I moved in part because we recently moved to an area where Vodafone coverage is poor, but also because Tesco Mobile receives high ratings from Which? I've always ensured I've been on the most suitable/cost effective tarrif on my mobile contracts and so when I switched to Tesco Mobile, I was confident I wasn't overpaying with vodafone. I'd estimate I'm saving annually over £300 after the switch, and I haven't changed my phone usage habits materially. Tesco's voicemail notification system isn't as good as vodafones - other than this though I'm really happy.

“BEWARE! really bad customer service”

TESCO has been incredibly bad! I placed an order in March and they cancelled it without telling me. I never received my phone. SO when i called them they said there was a technical glitch and they would refund my money. almost 4 weeks later still no refund and no phone. would never ever recommend tesco to anyone. They love to take your money same day but when they have to give it back theres just no hope!

“Repair centre is a joke!”

I know situations like mine doesnt happen too oftne but when they do its just bad. Got my phone motorola razr womehwere in january. Two month later handset stopped working correctly no ear piece audio. A simple fault as u may think. I have promptly called tesco repair centre i got jiffy bag and sent it off for a repair with copy of my contract. After approx three and a half weeks phone came back. A letter included suggested that it was repaired but no it wasnt, still no ear piece audio. So again requested a jiffy bag and sent it bag. Waited again three weeks phone came back in the same state not fixed. Spoken with customer services and they have said it will be replaced with new handset swo i sent it back. Guess what today is 03/07/13 i dont have my phone back. Over three months i am posting my handset back and forth. Spoken yesterday with tesco repair centre and apparently REPAIR CENTRE detected that handset was not sourced by tesco store. I have asked how is that possible if my contract has IMEI number of the handset and it was attached every time handset was posted back to them. I really dont even know who to complain to. Tesco has my handset and i cant get it back working after over three months of hassle. My advice is go with major stores they are much quicker in resolving issues. Tesco ppl are just lazy. So many hours spent on the phone investigating what happened with my handset. Phone calls from me were dropped so many times or put through to another advisor. So far all i got from tesco is a major head ache. AVOID!!

“Good for call, text but not internet.”

A good company if you want a simple call and text plan with decent customer service based in their UK only call centre. Bad if you want mobile internet speeds that won't make you pull your hair out. They run on O2's network which has excellent coverage and reliability and I'm pretty sure that the call centre people you speak to are also working for O2 even though they say they are Tesco. The internet is only 2g on my 3g phone and often times out loading web pages. I have used my phone on 3g networks with speeds of 12 Mb plus so my phone is not the problem. However, if you don't care about mobile internet then I think this is the best provider.

“Good value, reception and helpful customer service”

I have been with tesco as a PAYG customer for a year, before I took a contract for Iphone 4s at £20 a month + £100 cost of phone (1gb - unlimited text - 500 minutes which is what I need) Reception is very good as they use O2 network, and they offer a capped tariff which avoid you surprise bills, as I was fed up with stupid bills from tmobile ( who didnt want to cap my tariff, so I left them) The only thing is that their Iphone 5 deals are still too expensive compared to competitors

i think its great value and it works fast in my area. now most of my family use it and we can communicate easily. it has good deal because you get twice the amout of credit as you top up for example if i was to top up ten pound i will get 20 pund free plus the ten!!! thank you tesco

I bought two of my children phones on Tesco pay monthly contracts at Christmas. The deals were superb, they get much more inclusive than I get on Orange for a third of the price! The kids love their new phones, I have got them on capped contracts so I know they cant run up big bills. Never had any problems with lack of service or network issues. I am due an upgrade soon so will be changing to Tesco mobile too! I manage their accounts online and so far have had no need to contact customer service, they have an online live help which has answered any queries I have had so far. And I get clubcard points to which is a bonus, as well as a cashback deal. All good. Would definitely recommend

“Incompetent, appalling customer service”

Bought a Blackberry Curve - 5 months on it failed. Bought new sim card after speking to Tesco (£10)Cust Service, same fault. Sent back to service centre -they returned it stating they could not replicate fault. Called service centre who made me an appointment in a "specialist shop" (T Mobile) to have it checked. Engineer reported hardware failure and should replace handset. Rang Tesco to arrange - they needed sencond opinion! Rang Blackberry as requested. Blackberry advised- known problem, needs new handset but this will be via Tesco - they sent an e mail confirming diagnosis. Rang Tesco who said can only replace within 28 days -THIS HAS 2 YEAR WARRANTY. Asked them to sort out and had call this morning saying that I had to return phone to their engineers AGAIN to be checked. I why the 2 engineers reports were not valid - Tesco policy from Kirsty (no surname!) is that they have to be returned 3 times before they can even consider a replacement and then will send a repaired one. 7 hours, one journey, no managers no progress. Would recommend anyone to avoid this Company.Making formal complaint......asking for compensation for time to be donated to Help for Heroes......and waiting while I still pay rental..
