Broil King Porta-Chef Pro.

After lots of web 'trawling' I happened upon 'Riverside' and found the BBQ I was looking for....albeit I had to forgo the 'hot plate' griddle I was searching in vain for. One phone call to Riverside made up my mind to order through them.....a 'human' answered the phone and promptly. Having ascertained the item was in stock I ordered over the 'web' and it arrived the following day. I also received a call telling me my order had been dispatched....there's an example of customer service many thousands of businesses could learn from.

The BBQ cooks well and is relatively compact given that it has a high lid. Packing it away couldn't be easier though I have dropped it from 5 stars to 4 because the stowage for the legs and side tables is not particularly good.....the clips holding the legs in place (and thereby hold the side tables)are not man enough to hold things securely and these items have a tendency to fall off. Also it would be helpful if there was something in the instructions that recommends cleaning out the bottom of the BBQ (underneath the burner) before stowing as unburnt fat accumulates there and could make a nice mess of wherever you choose to stow it away. This might seem the obvious thing to do but it does claim to 'vaporise' dripping fat which in our limited experience of this BBQ it didn't.....nor did it prevent flareup which it aslso claims.

To conclude....yes it has it's faults but it is compact, packs away nicely and best of all it cooks great.
