Avoid! Denied Claim And Voided Insurance! Horrendous Custome
My property was severely damaged through an accident by Thames Water / Lanes Group contractors recently. The damage involved a collapsed retaining wall and major damage to the extension (cracking and subsidence). I tried to open a claim with RSA about this, and instead they said that I deceived them about past subsidence history. I was not aware of any subsidence history and only recognised a thin crack on the extension wall that I thought was due to settlement. Without even sending anyone out to actually see the damage, they concluded the investigation and voided my policy! I am now stuck with the possibility of paying more than £30,000!!!!! to repair the damages caused by someone else.
Summary: Extremely long response times in urgent situation, ended up voiding my home insurance and leaving me to fend off a massive case by myself! Horrible service.

John Lewis - Home Insurance Underwriters Rsa
Bought John Lewis Home Insurance around October 2015 after hearing great reviews. My experience not so great. The insurance team absolutely can't fault them but the underwriters Royal Sun Alliance who I even have shares with!!! NOT GREAT. Burst cold water pipe on 2nd February still not resolved and as from Tuesday 15th March will be 6 weeks since we had a leak from cold water pipe from our bedroom into our living room and remains unresolved as they want us to accept 'patch' job. Not impressed. I complained about assessor but they sent email to him! REALLY! So 2nd complaint to CEO on 8th March 2016 asking for resolution in 48 hours not materialised not even courteous call to say can't answer so disappointed. Not slept in our own bed for 5 weeks, my back in agony, shoulder pain like I've never experienced! Going to doctor as far rather give birth than suffer this inconvenience, pain and distress we are in. Would you take out Insurance now! Never again as my first claim and assessor - well REALLY!
Not only that the new carpet delivered on the 2nd February lying down full length of stairs as can't be laid due to holes in bedroom floor - old carpet was lifted prior to leak occurring so has not been included in my claim - but the new carpet that is starting to warp on the stairs and may never be able to be used - may need claimed for.

Rsa Car Insurance Are Awful
i am currently insured with ras as a named driver on a policy that belongs to my father. i have had 2 accidents this year and neither were my fault. i have had nothing but stress. they are unprofessional and very unhelpful i would not recomend this compay to a rat nevermind a person depending on an insurance company to support them after an accident

Revoked House Insurance Due To Building Work
I had a policy with Paymentshield but really that is RSA. My policy was given a 30 day notice to be revoked when I informed them of building work at the house. Nothing major - loft conversion,small extension, new kitchen and general maintenance. House occupied throughout and builder has full insurance. Now almost impossible to get insurance as other insurers ask if you have ever had insurance refused and of course don't want to know if you say yes.
Unable to talk with the person who made the decision and have not been informed of the reasons for revoking other than "due to building works"

When I Took Out My Mortgage This Company Assured T
When I took out my mortgage this company assured to always strive to get me the best deal!!! I recently rang them to negotiate as my insurance had gone up from 300.00 to 1400.00 and this was way out of my budget. No i hadnt had the elgin marbles as a gift and the queen aint moved in next door. The poor girl on the end of the line almost sobbed with me as i had remembered her name and she couldn't get out of the hot seat. Alas even confronted with a screen shot of a recent quote from their website (with all my details it came to about 200 quid)they dug in their heels. What is it with insurance companies? Who monitors them? Royal Sun Alliance, kiss my butt two times because i am not finished yet. Depriving my kids of a hundred pounds a month......i think not!
