“Good service eventually ”

I received an email from DPD saying when the parcel would be delivered. I waited in but did not hear the doorbell and they left a card. Was rather annoyed that they had not made more effort to let me know they were at the door. I rang the local DPD office. They got in touch with driver and he came back later in the day with the parcel. Eventual good service from the office and the driver.

“Brilliant. But slow”

When i received my package (which was a computer from pc specialist) it came with out any damage to the pc and its internals. But it was very slow taking 6 hours to get from a place 20 miles away. But when i did arrive i found the man who served me to be polite.

DPD delivered my items, quickly and safely. I was kept infomred of my parcels progress and given the time slots of when my items would arrive, and they arrived in those time slots. No fuss or hassle just good service.

“Helpful and effective customer service”

The driver had scanned the parcel incorrectly, so that it was delivered to the wrong address (a farm, judging by the photo) - nobody was in, so the delivery was rescheduled for the next day, without my approval. However, when I called DPD, they were very helpful on the phone, and managed to correct the issue and get the parcel to me on the original day. In short, mistakes happen, but they handled it well.

Overall Satisfactory delivery from DPD. However, I will like to point out some flaws. 1st: Being the first time user of DPD service. I needed some sort of clarification about how the delivery works, and after painstakingly written a email to DPD, there weren#t any reply even though they promised to get back in touch within 24 hours. 2nd: My parcel delivery was a little late(30 minutes) outside of the one hour window.

After reading many reviews about DPD - most saying how awful they are I was a bit worried as I was due a parcel from Amazon today. However, I was given a one hour slot and was able to track my parcel. It arrived on time and the driver was really curteous. Guess I was one of the lucky ones?

“First time user”

This is the first time I have had something delivered by them. A card was left saying they would deliver the next working day (Monday). As this was not convenient for me I had the option to call them and arrange a 'safe place', which I did. Today my parcel was delivered (I was at home) and the driver was really nice and said he would leave it in the safe place every time he delivered. So nice and easy peasy no more worrying about if I will be in to receive my parcel. Thanks dpd!

“They are reliable”

I would not normally write a review on delivery services, but having had such an appalling experience with Yodel, I had to review them for the sake of others considering using them. Good service should be rewarded with a positive review. I have had two deliveries this week from Dpd and they could not be faulted. Great communication good webpage and they delivered when they said they would. 1 hour time shot, no wasted days waiting in. Keep up there good work Dpd great service. :-)

Recently had a tyre delivered.I was able to contact the driver to leave extra instructions in case I was out at the time. The tracking is in real time with the drivers location ,how many drops before mine(120) and a one hour window given. Package arrived in the time slot. First class service.

We do not use DPD as a courier ourselves as we generally require a same day direct service for which we use a local motorcycle courier, however a number of our suppliers do use DPD and we have always found that the delivery arrives in the stated time period and that the drivers are courteous and efficient. We have never had damaged goods or any concern about the risk of damage.

“Best of the bunch”

I like that DPD take the effort to work out a route and know, to within an hour, when their driver will be with you. Had them a few times recently and on every occasion they've been within the specified one hour window. Why can't the others do this? Some like Tuffnells can't even offer a basic parcel tracking yet DPD allow you to watch the van getting closer! Never had cause to complain so DPD are always my first choice if I get the option.

“Pretty impressed for once”

Having dealt with cheap and cheerful delivery services, I am immediately suspicious and on my guard when ordering anything from Amazon that I know will end up with anyone other than Royal Mail. However, needs must when you want something the next day (although much crossing of fingers is also required). I wasn't expecting a text message at 9am to give me an hour window for a delivery slot and I wasn't expecting anyone to honour that slot, and yet they did. This, of course, is exactly how all delivery services should work, and while I will no doubt be back here again moaning at the same company, I will for now add positive comments because it can't always go wrong all the time can it? And many commiserations to those for whom it has, I know exactly how that feels and it happened to me just before Christmas with Parcelforce, so... Only thing was the driver could have been more friendly, but then so can I. Not impolite, it's just I may not be a 'sir', but I'm not his 'mate'. Hate this kind of informality.

DPD have my parcel, they have now told me there was a fire at the depot which was holding it and they think it may be there. They made no attempt to tell me this, I have chased them. They just kept saying my parcel had been delayed and moving the delivery date. I have contacted the seller (Netherlands company) and they will not refund me until they receive the parcel. which I'm guessing is now damaged or at worse, ash. Who is responsible DPD or seller?

If your parcel was insured for damage as part of your postage costs, I would think DPD are responsible for paying the seller compensation. Not sure of the full details of your parcel but I had a similar issue with a parcel sent to an EBay buyer by myself using Royal Mail. I had to refund the buyer & claim the compensation from Royal Mail as they damaged the parcel! I hope that helps Lynn
