Clearly DPD got lost. Got a text to my phone to say that noone was at home, at a time when my partner was 6 ft from the front door. There was no note left. Besides which, we have a smart doorbell. If he'd rung it, I'd get a message on my phone. We're getting to an age now where delivery drivers can't lie with impunity anymore. When I wrote to complain, the response boiled down to "We can understand why you're upset. **** happens. DPD have improved in the past few years but there's a long way to go before I'd recommend them.

Paid extra for a company to deliver my parcel before 12 on a saturday, recieved a message that it would arrive between 11.39 and 12.39, which is still over the time frame they had told me and yet the driver didn't arrive till 13.45. He also bashed the parcel on the doors and stairs of the block of flats I live in. Luckily my parcel had rigid internal packaging but this still isnt the point especially that the box had 'Fragile' written over it. Would rather use another courier that I know deliver well and on time.

Whilst the delivery of my computer was done in a speedy manner, as you would expect from DPD, the driver got to my door and was ready to post a "You were not in letter" of some description. The driver verbally told me that he thought no one was home, and I know for a fact he hadn't checked beforehand as I was watching the door to be ready for the delivery. Obviously I understand the need to be as fast as possible, but not to the detriment of a customer who was patiently awaiting a delivery in his living room.

I was dubious about choosing DPD because of the poor reviews I'd read here and elsewhere. But having looked over feedback for ALL of the major courier companies, it seemed each had been equally condemned. But the parcel HAD to go (4.5 kg, 44cm long, 30cm wide, 28cm tall), so I picked DPD just really because there had at least been *some* positive feedback about their online tracking system. I actually booked the service through Parcel2Go (P2G), I needed to get it from the UK to Bulgaria in the run-up to Christmas. I paid about £65 pounds for the Classic service, which included extra cover for loss since the value of the goods was about £215 (normally you're only covered to £50). It was collected the following day (11th December 2014). I'd printed the address label prominently and stuck it on the box (A4 sized, with the text covering the whole page - 2 copies actually on two different faces; and my return address on a thirdface). The driver was friendly enough, but asked "are these the only labels you have" - which suggested I probably should have printed something else too (perhaps a tracking ID? I wasn't told about this when I booked online - P2G suggested a label, but it tiny when printed and only included their separate tracking number, so I didn't use this). He copied the recipient address onto a tablet, and said an extra label would be added before it was sent on its journey. I was given a receipt, and off he went. I watched the website closely (type "DPD tracking" into Google), I had a Consignment Number (from the receipt), but it seems to accept other values too (none of which I had). Note that it's a bit confusing because the Consignment Number (CN) has two separate and unrelated numbers either side of it - I thought these were part of the CN initially, so that led to some frustration on the DPD tracking web page since nothing was showing up when I included these. The only part which IS the CN is immediately above the red text that says CONSIGNMENT NUMBER. Within 24 hours it was in Birmingham at the main UK DPD depot, two days later it was in Eindhoven in Holland; three days after that it was in Budapest in Hungary; the following day in Bukarest in Romania, and then on the 19th it reached the nearest depot to its destination in Bulgaria - so 8 days of travelling, all told. Not bad going at the time of year. But then it was marked "out for delivery" for each of the next 5 days. On the 5th day it was additionally marked "We were unable to deliver your parcel as there was no one present to sign for the delivery. The latest status of your parcel will be shown here. Unable to Deliver". It was marked "unable to deliver" twice more, 3 days later, and then 6 days after that (the Christmas holiday took place between these later two times). However, the recipient was able to go and collect it today (Jan 5th 2015), a full 26 days after it was sent. The good news is that it was completely intact and everything was present. The recipient was told that previous driver delivery attempts had failed because the entry door to her block of flats was shut. But it's never locked, so she's not entirely convinced by this explanation. Nevertheless, it arrived, and it arrived safely. That's the main thing. I'd read so many horror stories about parcels arriving terribly broken, or with items missing, or just vanishing altogether, so it was a great relief that it was received at all!

Ordered a £1,100 PC from PC Specialist, delivered by DPD. The guy walked through the gates with the PC in one arm - upside down! I wasn't impressed that he took no care of my goods and said he always did it that way after I'd commented. I'd waited almost a month and didn't want it damaged by a careless courier. Please guys - have more respect for people's goods, especially the expensive stuff.

I recently ordered an item via Amazon website and the company used DPD. I have had other deliveries from DPD and it has been fine as long as you are able to give up your day waiting for the delivery, which can be from 7.30am to 7.30pm. On this particular day I was not going to be in so requested that they leave with a neighbour of which 3 were in at the stated time of delivery. When I came home I had a fail to deliver card, so I tried to contact them to see if the delivery driver had received the note about leaving with a neighbour. I have failed to speak to a person and it is most frustrating. I have now arranged a new date and will have to wait in since I can not trust them to try all my neighbours doors.

After reading all reviews I was so scared my delivery will never arrive. They were suppose to deliver on Thursday but e mailed that no one was at home. They didn't leave a calling card. I tried to rearrange to pick it up myself but their online service was completely useless. So instead I called them. To my biggest surprise the guy on the phone was really helpfull and arranged it to be delivered as soon as posible which was on wednesday (due to bank holiday) And again to my biggest surprise it came when it said it would. I will give them a benefit of the doubt for the first time cos I wasnt myself at home, but the fact that my 3 flatmates were and they didn't leave a calling card does put a question mark. I wouldn't use their services if I would need Smthg quickly and wouldn't recommend to my friends mainly because so many people had a bad experience with them. They might getting better but it will take a lot of time until people begin to trust them. The order was from Amazon and I live in north London.
