“Avoid! Damaged Items & Property. No Face Masks. No Refund.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by JamiyaHudson on 15/03/2021

M25 Movers claim that your move is insured and protected, but what they don’t tell you is that doesn’t apply to items three years or older. They did not wear any face masks the entire time they were doing the job, until the on-site management of the new place told them to. In the apartment though, they took them off. During our move they damaged a clock, tv unit, Sonos speaker, another set of speakers, the wall of the building we moved into, a collectible box from our wedding amongst other items. They also advise that the claim you make must be reasonable and cannot reflect the original price of the item. So you have to have your item refurbished by the cheapest place possible basically. They constantly advise they’re protected by their terms and conditions; they genuinely believe that if they damaged all of your items and they were older than three years, it would be fine as they’re protected by T&C’s. They will NOT refund you any money directly, they do what they want, and then just try and process an insurance claim, using a policy which is cheap for them but not fit for purpose for the customer. The company has a duty of care, and they should know that they can’t just shrug their shoulders. They will act in this manner until they’re held accountable, and if anything goes wrong you better believe you’re going to fight tooth and nail to get anything back. If you’ve got items older than three years old, avoid them, if you want an honest company that actually cares about their customers, avoid them. They will be taken to a small claims court, and all expenses will be reclaimed. I’ve attempted to settle this, but they’re being difficult and I just want to make sure nobody else goes through this. I will be leaving this review on every single review site I can find to warn as many people as possible.

“Awful service, do not use. Supposed to have 2 vans,...”

written by Jbu1010 on 26/01/2020

Awful service, do not use. Supposed to have 2 vans, then told 3 the day before. Only 1 turned up in the morning. Second came in the afternoon and the third came in the evening. Move delayed as a result and couldn’t get through to anyone on the phone all day. No acknowledgment or apology given until I complained and just got excuses and said they didn’t do anything wrong. Offered £50. Disgraceful customer service. There are plenty of removal companies out there, use someone else!

“Not even good to give me a quote”

★☆☆☆☆

written by vhar91-mov on 07/06/2018

They didn't even bother to show up for the inspection and quote appointment. It happened twice, first time the guy was off sick and they contacted me 2 hours after the appointment to tell me that. Second day they didn't show up and not even a call or email to tell me the reason of not showing up. I asked for two days at work to be at home, which was a waste of my time. So unprofessional and I am glad I found out the poor quality of their service before booking anything with them. The other companies were on time, friendly and excellent service, so my advice don't go with M25, there are many others with good customer service out there.

“WARNING! DO NOT USE THEM!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 29/05/2018

The guy who came round to give us a quote was nice but the boss of the removals team boss was incredibly rude and disrespectful. He literally threw our possessions around, broke FOUR items of furniture, broke a hifi speaker and scratched, dented and ruined various other things we treasure. Total nightmare. Moving is stressful enough without this kind of trouble. Their insurance policy is a joke. Read the small print! We're currently looking into legal action against them. We gave them a chance and got burned. Badly burned. BEWARE! Ps we refused to 'rate' the boss guy on his mobile phone at the end of the day because we were so angry, but later found out he'd 'rated' himself by choosing himself five stars. What a joke. As we unpack we're discovering more and more broken stuff. Gutted...

Dear Ms. Perez,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback.
We are a growing company and appreciate that there is always more to learn; as such we will take your points on board and pass them on to the relevant employees and make the necessary changes.

We did however noticed that on your delivery confirmation you rated the moving team "Excellent" and noted no damages upon the completion of the move.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch with us via email or phone, should you have any questions of how to file a claim.

Kind Regards,

The M25 Movers Team

“Terrible company”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Schaefer436 on 25/04/2018

M25 movers made my moving day extremely stressful: they were rude, arrogant, and incompetent.  They were uncaring of how I felt about their horrific work ethics.  My experience with this company was awful.  When I made a complaint the managers didn't seem to care and when I tried to speak to a manager on the day of the move they were all in meetings: how convenient for them.  They were only available when they wanted my money and after the day of the move. They are not experienced with taking care of furniture, they don't care about it.  In my experience, I really felt as if the only thing they care about is money: they wouldn't compensate me.

“Terrible. Beware!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 468Hammond on 09/11/2016

I decided to go with M25 Movers as their reviews were good even though they are not the cheapest. We agreed a date and I paid the deposit. Unfortunately works on my new flat was delayed and thus I had to change my moving date. It was only when I called M25 Movers, that I found out that I would lose my deposit since it was less than 7 days till the moving date. This info was NOT in their confirmation email but embedded in the middle of their Terms & Condition webpage. I would not have paid the deposit had I known as works tend to over-run. I spoke to their Sales Manager and he became dismissive when I told him that since I am losing my deposit anyway, I prefer to go with another company. Asked the Sales Manager and later emailed them to ask for their complaint procedure but I am not holding my breathe that they will respond. Feel like a company that only wants your money!

Dear Ms Lim

We are disappointed by your review. If you had made a direct complaint to us in the normal manner, we would have dealt with it ourselves and investigated.

As it is, you just chose to write an extremely negative review which did not reflect reality. When you booked, we outlined the cancellation policy. You telephoned to cancel with less than 48 hours notice, giving us no opportunity to fill the slot and therefore causing us financial loss. It is normal practise to charge a cancellation fee in such circumstances.

We consider that you writing a review about what happened, instead of raising the issue with us is defamatory because it does its utmost to negatively impact the company and cause it to lose business.

The easiest thing to do is to try and damage a hard earned reputation behind the key board; it can sometimes be harder to pick up a phone and try and resolve an issue in an amicable way. There are people with jobs and families on the other side too.

Kind Regards

I would like to stress that this is exactly the kind of treatment I am now expecting from M25. They are the only ones with families. They are always in the right, everyone else is in the wrong or loaded with money.
I have a family too. I don't have £200 to throw away. I am on fixed wages and have budgeted carefully for the move. Now I have to prioritise the essentials since you decided to take £200 from me.
I tried to come to an amicable agreement with you on call and in email correspondence but you wanted everything done on your terms and only on your terms. Everyone else can lose out but not you.
I am a person trying to get by in life and do well by others. You refused my offer to meet you half way but you want what you think is yours.
As I really need the money, I have no choice but to recoup via the courts.

Dear M25 Movers,
As mentioned, you did NOT tell me about the cancellation policy when I paid the deposit. You could wait to get me to part with my money for the deposit. Even your Sales Manager implied so as he said to me that your sales representative couldn't possibly go through your T&C during a sales call. Later you took more money from my credit card without my consent.

I tried to initiate your complaint procedure but you refused my request.
The purpose of online reviews is to inform others. In this case, you took money from my credit card without my consent thus I am informing others to be on their guard of such possibility in the event they are contemplating using your service. Using website like AnyVan would have saved me so much grief and I would definitely recommend instead for removal service.
I too earn my wages and have a family to feed. My hard earned money was taken by you without so much as by your leave with you being your own judge and jury. I tried to meet you half way but you wouldn't even consider it. In addition, your legal team tried to misled me in their email response when I told them I will be exercising my right to file a complaint with the Small Claims court.

“Stolen item”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Brent106 on 13/07/2016

M25 helped to pack up our things and with our move to our new house. Most of the staff assigned to us did not appear to speak or understand English. They went against express instructions not to touch items we had set aside, including my camera and laptop. Things that we needed were packed away, such as my glasses and contact lenses, which I need to see properly. This made for an even more stressful moving experience. Things that we didn't need, for example, the contents of our waste paper baskets, were boxed up nicely by M25's staff. My biggest grievance is that my camera mysteriously disappeared after the first day of packing and when notified (after I gave M25 the benefit of the doubt and waited to unpack everything before bringing this to their attention), M25 refused to take any responsibility for this even if their staff were the only people with any access to the rather expensive camera. If you are looking to have your items arrive safely at their destination, I would be careful using this company.

Hi.

We have not been able to reply to you personally as we have no record of moving any Brent106 in recent years. We have also searched for claims like yours on our system but, we have no record of such claim in the 12 months prior to this review being written.

We are not aware of any complaint being raised of the nature you have written about in your review.

Under the circumstances we would request that you contact us immediately so that we can look into this further. Until then, as we have no record of this removal or complaint, unfortunately we would not be able to progress with any help.

Please contact us.

“Not worth it! ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ClaytonDean475 on 10/03/2016

While these guys were one of the cheaper quotes I found, it definitely was not worth it! I only had a few items of furniture to be moved, so I booked the first timeslot of the day, to avoid delays. They called me 15 minutes after they were meant to arrive, telling me they would be 40 minutes late. An hour and a half late they finally arrived. However they forgot to get x1 item, so they went back to get it. They had asked me to pay cash, which I had arranged, but then the delivery men wouldn't accept the cash. My experience with M25 Movers was a complete and utter disaster, and I would never use them again, nor recommend them. My easy 2 hour booking, was drawn out to a painful 5 hour saga.

“Missing items!”

★☆☆☆☆

written by robinldonovan on 13/01/2016

M25 certainly deliver on cost - under half of the major companies ! Unfortunately it turns out that we paid dearly for our decision to go with a cheap option Alarm bells first sounded when we noted that throughout the inclusive packing service - none of the boxes were numbered and checked out/ back in during the move. We have relocated many times throughout the world and this has always been the norm. Our major items of furniture were also not properly wrapped and I was particularly alarmed that a precious wooden ornament was not sufficiently protected. -I pointed this out to the removal supervisor who grudgingly wrapped it in a blanket. Subsequently it has sustained damage. At our new house we realised ( all too late ) that we were missing a box of precious family photographs and other items such a a bedside lamp, reading glasses cook books etc - nothing super valuable but precious to us all the same. The real disappointment has been the absolute lack of interest shown and indeed we feel as though we have been stalled and put off from making a claim. Here are the conditions as ( finally ) sent by their claims department: "In brief, your claim will not be processed if: 1) It is worth less than £250.00; 2) If there was any other contractor working in your home at the same time as M25 Movers Ltd; 3) If your item is more than five (5) years old; 4) If more than seven days have passed between the date of your move and the filing of your claim." The goods are not worth 250 pounds - As we used a hoist operator to remove the goods ( well trusted and used before ) we fall short on point 2. The items are mainly family photos - very precious and over 5 yrs old. Although originally reported within 7 days - We have since been put off and stalled at every turn and so unfortunately we are out of luck. We have learnt our lesson but I shall continue to fight to get them to take us seriously and deal with our complaint. In the meantime I can in no way recommend M25 Movers.

Mr Donovan

We are disappointed by your review.

We value our customers and pride ourselves on the excellent feedback we receive (see other reviews on the site). Simply, you gave us no chance to deal with your claim, you sent in the claim form and on the same day (not even an hour later!) wrote this negative review, which you duly submitted on two sites.

We do not accept that none of your boxes were numbered or checked out-this is simply not the way we operate. Our movers are all well trained and know how to pack and protect furniture. As for your missing box, I can assure you that none of our movers want your family photos..or anything else. In any event, we would of course have processed your claim in the normal way...there was no reason to prejudge us in this manner.

If you wish to speak to us about your move (we note that you never complained directly to us), please feel free to do so. We do however note that you tipped the movers well, commented on our feedback form that everything was good, praised the movers to the quality control team and confirmed that you checked the van and that it was empty. Yet you gave us 1 star, the lowest possible score, for your move! You've also so far denied all of our attempts to contact you to discuss your experience.

Did our service really merit this review?

“Movers great, boss a disgrace”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Terryeg1948 on 11/05/2014

DISGUSTING. My card details were taken for a £25 deposit, and told to give the remaining £95 to the drivers in cash. Once moved, and having handed over £100, the drivers said that their boss had advised that no deposit had been paid. Upon calling the boss, and after being shouted at when I asked what he expected me to do (in a brand new area, short on the money having not been told, and no idea where the nearest bank was) he told me to "just go to a cash point and take out the rest" and then hung up on me. Trying to intimidate a young girl alone with two of his male movers is a disgrace, and the way I was spoken to by someone being paid for a service, was vile.

*As an update, I have now been threatened with legal action if I don't remove this wholly accurate review, which I am not willing to do. I have been accused of lying, but wonder why on earth I would make up a story having already handed over £100?! I refuse to submit to the company's bullying tactics to try and silence me.

Hi,

I write regarding the two reviews that you have recently posted about my Company.

As you know, the reviews do not represent the facts of what occurred. I can only give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that the reviews were posted in anger, rather than in a bitter attempt to ruin my Company's reputation.

With regards to the actual facts of what happened, you called my Company on Saturday afternoon (10 May) begging us to move you the following day. Although as a matter of policy, we don't work on Sundays, we made an exception in your case because you seemed to be in difficulty and booked you in. The reservation was made but unfortunately the credit card that you gave was declined and so we did not manage to take a deposit from you. Instead of bothering you about this on a Saturday evening and given that the amount required was only £25.00 and we were to see you the following day, the sales representative did not call you back about this but left it to the movers to discuss this with you the following day.

On Sunday afternoon you called my sales representative to ask why you were being charged for the whole amount of the move. He explained to you that your card had been declined but you then started screaming at him, asking how you were to get the additional £25.00 and that it was very inconvenient for you. You began to swear and told the movers (who you admit in one of your reviews to being 'great' and who had by then finished the move) to go and you left them without payment.

Your behaviour toward my employees is disgraceful and even worse, when considering how we went out of our way to fit you in at the last minute on a Sunday and decided not to contact you again on the Saturday to obtain the deposit only because we did not want to inconvenience you on a weekend. From the fact that your credit card was declined and that you became so terribly rude when asked to give the additional sum on the Sunday, I assume that you are in some sort of financial difficulty and unfortunately my Company finds itself at the receiving end of your anger.

no good deed go unpunished

Regards

Gabriel, Director M25 Movers Ltd

Hi Marquez

I noticed that you have contrived to have at least two further replies removed from this review.

In case you had forgotten the content of one of these replies, let me take this opportunity to remind you that publishing unfounded public assumptions about a person's financial status (as you have above, with the inclusion of personally identifiable information, i.e. user Terryeg1948's surname and gender) could be described as defamatory. That's even with the relatively recent change to the legal definition of defamation.

On a less serious matter, I would like to remind you of the content of the second deleted reply (mine, as it happens) which queried a detail in your reply to Terryeg1948. In it, you state that your company does not work on Sundays "as a matter of policy". My erased reply to you stated that this is not true, as can easily be ascertained by simply reading your own company website's FAQ. You appear to have made a mistake about your company's business hours.

My object in reinstating the contents of the erased replies is simply fairness. If this is intended to be an independent and impartial review site, one does not proceed to post a legally-problematic reply and then proceed to have alerts highlighting said issues removed. Unless, of course, you wish to remove the personally identifiable and defamatory details from your own reply - in which case there would be no need for my comments at all, would there?

Think about it.

I couldn't agree more.

The boss, Gabriel is a nasty piece of work and a bully. He couldn't care less about his customers and made that very clear to us during and after the move.

He was outrageously rude to us; he showed up on the morning of our move and told us it wasn't going to happen that day, because his staff were tired and there was nothing we could do about it. He appears to have a particular problem with women. He deliberately obstructed our move. When we complained he threatened to stop the move mid way. When I wrote to complain afterwards he threatened us further.

The guys who packed and did the move were lovely and did their best. I can see if you were lucky with their resourcing, admin etc then you could have a good experience with M25. But goodness help you if you have a problem, or if you catch Gabriel on a bad day.

This man is a thoroughly nasty piece of work.

“Value for money until things go wrong! The removal...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Dereko271 on 22/03/2014

Value for money until things go wrong! The removal men themselves were very hardworking and only one of three spoke English which did cause a few hiccups. Whilst the move itself was somewhat frantic two out of the three men were very helpful. It is worth pointing out you should read the small print as you are liable for any parking tickets so should orchestrate your move carefully!,also apparently you are not covered for jewellery or cash!! which was pointed out to us us after a query was raised. Whilst trying to sort out a problem one of the staff became extremely rude, aggressive and antagonistic as well as threatening!,before putting the phone down on me!.He is obviously unable to communicate in a civil manner and appears to be somewhat misogynistic !,I wish i had read the bad reviews before using this company as it becomes apparent that they are good as long as you have no queries! Would NOT recommend under any circumstances.

Dear Ms Doble (aka Dereko271),

It is always such a shame to meet people such as yourself that apparently have no issues with attempting to hurt a company’s hard earned reputation in the easiest way – by hiding behind a keyboard.

Lets look at the details of your move for a second for the benefit of those who read your review;

1. Your claim: an envelope with £100.00 exactly, no more and no less, was left in one of your kitchen drawers and 12 hours after the move is completed, you say that the envelope is missing and immediately blame the movers.
2. You failed to acknowledge that we moved at least 2.5 tones worth of goods from your house, hundreds of boxes, bags and items of furniture – (3 van loads), one of which went into your storage facility…In the time that it took for you to blame my Company for the missing cash (12 hours from finish), I highly doubt that you took the time to check through those items for the money (unpacking a three bedroom house is a task that takes most clients several weeks to complete!).
3. Despite efforts on my part to resolve your claim, you instead chose to become aggressive and then set about writing destructive reviews.
4. In fourteen years of running moving companies and thousand of moves that I’ve performed, this is the first time ever that I have seen such a claim.
5. You also said that you wish you read the bad reviews about us – we don’t have any! You will see from the reviews on this site, that people rave about the service that we provide.

This experience has saddened me, but I do hope that prospective customers will now have a fuller understanding of what happened and consider all the rave reviews about M25 Movers Ltd when choosing their moving company.

Regards

Gabriel, Director M25 Movers Ltd
