Trying to get the top shelf adjusted on the runners is a nightmare,I've been trying for over an hour!!!normal 11" dinner plates are too big and have to lie at an angle,a complete waste of money.

My old Hotpoint Aquarius blew up after 6 years and I was very happy with it so I decided to replace it with the same model. Unfortunately, this is not the same model. It is really badly designed and will only take two dinner plates (standing upright). Otherwise, the rotary arm underneath the top basket will not turn and chips the plates. I telephoned hotpoint who asked me if I had the basket set to the hightest level, which I had and they said that my plates must be too big - they are not, I measured them. It would take less time to wash my dishes by hand that spend half an hour re-adjusting the crockery in this machine. The only way to stack them is face down, which means that you can only fit 4 dinner plates on the bottom rack. My advice is not to buy a Hotpoint Aquarius+. It will frustrate you, chip your plates, take up time and cost too much money because you have to do two loads per sitting.
