I found this to be very good' Does what is says on the packet and lasts 6-8 weeks,no problem. Only real problem i have is that poundland only seem to stock it for a limited period. Just goes to show you how much profit boots(american)asda(american)and the list goes on. Regards,Richard

“Pleasantly surprised by this! ”

I recently bought the black version of the hair dye, and after reading some of the reviews I didn't really know what to expect with it. I have a small percentage of grey hair, and on black hair its really noticeable, but due to me reading faster than my brain can cope with I forgot to wash my hair first, and I didn't leave it on as long as the 30 minutes it suggested. But it has done the job, a lot better than what I thought it would for a pound! The only downside would be the amount of lock in conditioner it gives you, not really a lot if you have either very long hair or thick hair!

“DO NOT USE!”

written by bridgetgibbs1990 on 26/09/2012

My mum bought this hair dye from the pound shop, we used it once and fine, no trouble a few months later when roots were coming through we bought the same hair dye from the same place and used it again. My mum is currently waiting for a ambulance to go an IV drip in hospital as she has a swollen face, can not open her eye and has gunk leaking from her skin. Her whole body itches and antibiotics have not yet helped. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS DYE!

Hi, thank you so much for your review. I have bought this product but have not used it yet. Although I have done the test in my elbow and did not have a reaction, I certainly WILL NOT be using this. Really strange as I just had a really strong gut feeling that I needed to see if there were any reviews on this before as I used it as it's not a well known brand. I am so happy I followed by gut feeling. So sorry to hear about your awful experience and do hope your mom gets better very soon. Thank you once again!!!!

“Much lighter than expected”

★★★☆☆

written by on 02/02/2012

I bought Pro Colour Plus permanent hair colour cream in "4 Dark Brown" from the Pound Shop as I only wanted to touch up my roots to match a dark brown shade previously used (Color XXL in Bittersweet Chocolate). It has actually come out a light brown and my roots do not match the rest of my hair at all so I will have to buy a darker dye to try to hide them. It did, however, cover my grey well. Can't comment as to whether the colour will fade or not as I intend to buy a darker dye tomorrow to cover my mistake! The dye is a little thinner than dyes I have used previously, maybe smells a tiny bit stronger too. On the plus side, it didn't take long to rinse out at all and my hair feels nice and soft after using the conditioning sachet that came in the box.

“DO NOT USE THIS HAIR DYE”

★☆☆☆☆

written by xhelly on 12/10/2011

I used this hair dye and have never regretted anything more in my life! As it says in the booklet that comes with it, I did an allergy test on the inner fold of my elbow which didn't bother me at all. It didn't go red, it didn't swell and it didn't itch so I took that to mean it was okay to use. Boy, was I wrong! My face and neck were so swollen I could hardly see, breathe, eat or move for days, my ears were also swollen as well as being completely red raw and kept leaking some disgusting sticky liquid. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!

“Ash Brown - Paul Mitchell/Loreal/Matrix”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 21/09/2011

I have been trying for long number of years to get medium to dark ASH (cool) shade brown. And I have left hair salons in the past also disappointed with brown with worm tones and hues, chocolaty colour nonetheless not bad but I have specifically asked for ash (cool) no reddish copperish hues at all!! My natural hair is light to medium brown with very warm orangey tint to it (which is what I have been trying to neutralise to ash tone and not always successfully).I used number of above brands, Paul Mitchell The color Ash Brown or Dark Ash Brown (A or NA) have got pretty close to striping those reddish warm tones with either blue or green base. Recently I tried Matrix SoColor Medium Ash with Ash Hi-tones HT-AA and ended up light to medium reddish brown to my utmost horror. Useless colour, will not attempt to use again! I have heard Loral Majirel and Loa are good…In anticipation and long existing despair of finding this elusive ash cool brown (medium or med to dark brown), could anyone share and point me in direction of best brand/shade of perm or semi-perm glossy hair colour. Thanks!

“Pro-Colour Plus Light Brown Permanant 100% Grey Cover”

★★★★★

written by on 07/08/2011

I also found this in a pound shop and have been using it for about 2 years now. A great find! I have had to dye my hair since I was in my early twenties, as my chestnut brown hair began to have silver hair through it. I have been dying my hair for 40 years now and tried many hair colourants and, as I now have to dye by hair about every 3 weeks, it becomes very expensive. I, therefore, was delighted to find this hair dye, in my local pound shop which was so, so reasonable which covers my white hair and gives a lovely colour, which to me keeps extremely well. It is inevitable that any hair shade will fade in time with the sun, etc but if you use a special shampoo for coloured hair it should last well. I can highly recommend this product. It doesn't affect my scalp in any way and does not sting, as in other products. My only fear is that my local pound shop runs out, therefore, I tend to buy Pro-Colour Plus Light Brown for 100% Grey Cover in bulk.

“I found this hair dye in a £1 store in Dalston...”

★★★★☆

written by on 28/01/2011

I found this hair dye in a £1 store in Dalston Junction and I needed to re dye my hair anyway so I decided to try it out. It was overall, pretty simple to use and the colour did turn out pretty well and it was overall even. The only bad thing about this colour is that it has a slightly stinging effect to my scalp when it touches and also the colour does tend to fade (which happen with most hair dyes anyway. Maybe it just me but you could try asking other people about their experiences too! But really, I think that this product is worth to try out and with the scalp problem just not let it touch the scalp and you'll be fine!
