We booked a cruise on Celebrity Constellation (best of India and Sri lanka) in April 2018, on booking we should have been told how difficult it was to obtain a visa to visit India, we were told we had to get the visa ourselves, they sent email saying we could now get e-visa much quicker, we paid up front then it got refused twice and then kept our money, in the end we had to pay for an agent to do it for us, we had weeks backwards and forwards with forms to fill in, no one apparently answers phones in these places, it was only a short time before we went that we received the visa. we were not the only people who had trouble with getting a visa, most people on the ship had problems and came off worse than us paying hundreds of pounds, we found our own agent on google called (visa genie) we had to pay a fee for them to do it but not half as much as refusal from e-visa. We should have been advised that we would have needed a visa in India & Sri Lanka before we booked, if we had know how much trouble it was going to be we would never have booked this cruise, hope people will be better advised in the future and the difficulties they will incur.
