“Bad practice”

I contacted cruise 118 for a costing on a P&O cruiseat this time I specifically asked if P&O are still part of the blue Light discount scheme, was told by Cruise 118 agent they no longer did blue light discount P&O only discount for Armed Services. So I though oh well & continued with booking. Now it seems that I was given the incorrect information , P&O do still honour the Blue Light Discount but only if you book through P&O themselves. If i cancel this booking which was booked less than 18hrs ago I will lose my deposit & extra payment. So even though I was given incorrect info I have no way of getting my 5% discount, so its obvious that the booking agent is told by 118 management to not give out that info even when they are specifically asked because they will not get the booking. Bad practice, so if any blue light card holders are thinking of booking through Cruise 118 for a P&O or any other cruise operator go to the actual cruise company themselves & check first as you maybe losing out on 5% discount. As they say, once bitten twice shy in future I will go straight to the cruise company themselves and advise everyone who hold blue light cards to do the same. Date of experience: 01 April 2023

“Beware refund policy a joke ”

We have had a family cruise booked for some time and unfortunately due to covid 19 we received an email to say the cruise wouldn’t be happening which we fully understood and appreciated in these scary times. We we’re immediately paid the following day by Royal Caribbean without any hesitation. I then contacted Royal Caribbean for them to confirm we had been paid everything owed by them and that the money for the actual cruise they can confirm has been sent back to 118. I contacted cruise 118 on numerous occasions to be told we haven’t received the money at first until I informed them RC has in fact confirmed they had. So I thought I would wait the Period of 90 days (which is unreasonable when already been paid) and still haven’t received the funds. I’ve called over 4 times and still no refund and when I call they keep telling me some story of yea it should be done within another 14 days. We have booked with them before and had a great time/service but they have really let themselves down with this refund policy so BEWARE

I have now been waiting 152 days for my refund with no real answers or communication. This is far from acceptable and I'm getting very frustrated. There seems to be no particular time frame as customers of yours on the same cruise as me had there refund months ago!

Absolutely horrible experience, tried to book a cruise, but the lady absolutely had no idea what she was doing. And what’s with the background noise?? Seriously all what I could hear was giggling and clearly didn’t sound like her colleagues was taking the job seriously... sort your self out seriously

“Complete lack of customer service”

Despite being a loyal customer for several years and having spent tens of thousands of pounds with Cruise 118 I will never use this company again. My request for a quote for this year's booking has been dealt with terribly, passed from consultant to consultant as the first one didn't have time to deal with me! The second didn't deliver on 3 promises to call me back to discuss my cabin requirements and the call I was promised I would get from a manager to discuss my complaint has never been delivered on either. Never again Cruise 118, I will give my business to a company that values it in future.

“They couldn't be bothered to ring me back”

Spoke to two reception staff members a couple of days ago at Cruise118 because the sales staff were too busy and a calls were being diverted. I was told someone would ring me back within an hour. I went back onto their website to check a price and it had changed within the space of 10 minutes to a more expensive price. I rang again to speak to a supervisor. I was informed that a sales person would call back. They did not. Todate, no one has rung me. Dreadful service.

“Lack of communication!”

We was given misleading information! Company policy is completely wrong, we paid the the actual price that was given to us per person. the person I dealt with told us that her manager was trying to sort out the problem with Royal carribeans manager after 3 days we was told we would not be getting this holiday after agreeing to a price and paying in full! We waited nearly 9 days to get a refund which is not acceptable! We have now found the same deal with another company and we are satisfied with the service given to us something crusie118 lacks in! I would not recommend this company to anyone

“Admin. mistake so no tickets or boarding info for our...”

All we want from this company is a refund of the administration fee included in the total cost of the cruise.Three letters written and this Company still seem to think that a mistake of this magnitude is of little consequence.They have had time to investigate - 3 months! Time for some action Cruise 118.

“No interest in your needs once they have your money.”

Booked to go with 2 friends, Cruise staff fully aware of this but we ended up with different airlines, different times and different transfer companies.we had opted to have the price of the wine , a booking offer to come of our bill. It wasn't until 6 months later we realised the reduction was only 20£ even though the wine was advertised as costing £95 to buy. We even had to fight to get the £20. It was impossible go get our boarding passes for r flights with Ryanair printed of and we're given conflicting advice. In the end on our insistence they were e mailed to us. NEVER AGAIN WILL WE USE THIS COMPANY. I wrote to them and received a patronising reply. So beware.

“Beware!”

I booked 3 cruises with Cruise 118, a 3 week back to back and an 11 night cruise both with Celebrity Cruises. On all of these cruises I have had a great deal of difficulty accessing my on line documents. On all occasions I have had to contact Celebrity and Cruise 118. The problem with the first 2 cruises was that the finance had not been cleared, after many phone calls I eventually received my documents a week before embarking. There was also a problem with a private transfer between ships that did not turn up to meet us and getting a refund. The cruise that I am about to go on I am experiencing the same problem, I paid the balance due over 3 months ago to Cruise 118, apparently this has not been paid to Celebrity. I was told by Cruise 118 that they had transferred the money to Celebrity last week, this is 3 months after I had paid them. I have contacted Celebrity again earlier and I have been told that there is still a problem with the travel agent. Cruise 118 have fobbed me off with all sorts of excuses, what they don't seem to comprehend is that I have taken many Celebrity cruises and know the procedure about the online forms. This company is obviously not paying clients money to the cruise companies when the client pays them. BOOK WITH CRUISE 118 AT YOUR PERIL!

“Indifference and Arrogance!”

Currently having a terrible experience with cruise118. After requesting it was essential to have our 2 balcony cabins near to each other ( due to travelling with our frail mother ) we were sent our booking confirmation in January with cabins next door to each other... Delighted! When printing out our luggage labels we then discovered we are on different decks. This has left us in a very difficult situation with our cruise leaving on Saturday. This was our one and only must have request! We have been met with a very poor attitude and indifference despite the company admitting it was an error on their part. We have been offered a very small on board spend with a take it or leave it attitude. What has happened the past 10 days with this company has had a huge impact on what will be my mothers first and only cruise and certainly her last big holiday. There are so many companies to choose from when booking a cruise and considering the amount of money you will be spending please think long and hard before using cruise118.

“Use at your peril”

VERY INEPT COMPANY WITH VERY SERIOUS INTERNAL PROBLEMS. USE THEM AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!! What a horrible fiasco!!!!!!!! With 137 e-mails back and forth to finally get the package we wanted, and paying out extra dollars for changes needed to their wrong bookings (because of major problems once we had paid our funds, we tried to cancel the day after paying our money and were told we would get 50% back, and they would not fix problems without us paying change fees). We spent SOOOOO many hours fixing, checking documents, asking for them to be fixed, rechecking and sending back for more fixes to flight documents, transfer documents, and hotel bookings etc. Almost 3 weeks to finally get everything right, but finally thought we had everything right. Totally worn out before even starting to pack suitcases. Before leaving, had advised Cruise118 that we were concerned that if something went wrong we would be on our own, and we had NO confidence that they would step up with a fix. And guess what - first transfer went great - then the next one the driver left before we disembarked our cruise ship based on instructions from the tour company - guess who. When we tried to call the 24 hour Cruise118 emergency help line provided, first got a message indicating that the number had been changed to -----. We call the new number and got a recording that the office was closed and to call back during regular office hours. This left us to find our own transfer. Then we took our next flight, and at the end of the flight looked for our driver - no where to be found. Called the driver number provided only to learn that they had been at the airport at 11:00 am to pick us up (we are calling at 3:30 as our flight landed on time at 3:15). In discussion with the driver, we learned that while our transfer document was correct, the one that Cruise118 had provided to the driver was wrong - wrong time and wrong flight number. Again - a call to the 24 hour emergency line at Cruise118 resulted in a recorded message that he office was closed. We were left once again finding and paying for our own transport to the hotel. Then in spite of having paid to allow for 2 checked bags each for our next flight, when arriving at the airport that was not the case and we had to pay dearly for our luggage or not fly (or not take our luggage with us). In all three instances we have contacted Cruise118 to rebate the funds and in all three have been told they want 28 days to investigate. They have been provided with receipts, they have been provided with circumstances, and each case is clear cut and straight forward. As expected with the horrendous experience in getting the trip correctly booked - when they have created problems during the trip, they are unwilling to step up and fix them. We are preparing our documentation for presentation to the ombudsman and possible legal, VERY UPSET to any thinking of using this company PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE OR DO IT YOURSELF. CAUTION, CAUTION, CAUTION.

“MARCO POLO CRUISE”

Last minute booking made 2 weeks before sailing. Excellent staff at 118 made the booking painless and gave help where needed. Realy looking forward to the cruise, only been on one other cruise but a very big and impersonal ship, this one much smaller. Will write another review on our return to let everyone know how we get on.

Hello fellow cruisers. I tried this agency only to find out that not only are they not trustworthy but their contracts with cruise lines and definitely not as good as other online agencies. Customer service is only good up to the point of taking your hard earned money, after that, there is no quality control and they make you feel that you are a problem. They do not help with upgrading at all. I would strongly suggest using the USA websites www.vacationstogo.com or cruisesonly.com You will get a guaranteed lowest price and end up with a better cabin... SHAME ON CRUISE 118.com

“Very poor service”

I am very disappointed with Cruise 118. Their telephone service is deplorable and the patronising message provided by the automatic telephone announcer only makes matters worse. I needed to speak to a human shortly before departing for a cruise holiday that was arranged by Cruise 118. I telephoned all possible numbers that were advertised. No one bothered to return my call. No telephones were ever answered. The company are either too busy, understaffed or in business difficulty. I completely agree. My daughter, who is a cruise novice, booked a last minute fly cruise with RCI through Cruise118 for her honeymoon. The agents booked them on a low budget airline, with a notorious reputation for lateness, which, even if the flight was on time, only allowed 90 minutes to clear customs, collect luggage and take a 40 minute taxi ride to the port. When she queried the timing, the salesperson said not to worry as the airline always allowed time in their schedules and that the cruise118 'concierge' would monitor progress and text her if there were any problems. Guess what - the flight was an hour late, there were no text messages and no-one at cruise118 were answering their phones. Even the Directors failed to respond to voicemail messages. To avoid my daughter and her husband being stranded in France I called RCI and they kept the checkin open until an hour before the ship sailed - which they caught with literally 2 minutes to spare. Not a good start for a honeymoon and a complete lack of service from the cruise agent. DONT USE THEM!!

We were looking at booking acruise with my father-in-law. He spoke to this company and they phoned us with some details of a cruise we may have been interested in. The reviews of the ship on the internet were dire so politely we said we woul think about it and get back to them. The agent immediately phoned back my father-in-law and said we were happy with the arangements and booked the cruise taking full payment from him. He cancelled straight away, but we are still trying to get a full refund.

“118 cruise agent to avoid”

We booked on 6th August when £1900 was taken from us. This was supposed to be a special world cruise segment on Oriana but all the elements of our booking have been messed up. The company refuses to answer our emails and our so called concierge Richard Wishart says he will alter things for us but refuses to do so. This company is a franchise of Hays travel who also say they cannot help. If you want your holiday ruined before it starts book with 118 or any of their subsidiaries, World Cruiser and Complete Cruise both of who seem to have had a finger in the pie and a good kickback on our booking. I did not know before booking that I was being charged £27.50 booking fee or that I was dealing with a company at several removes with agents working from home.

Cruise118/Sixstar cruises purport to offer an upmarket service but its more akin to a budget airline service than a 5star concierge service as they describe it. ALWAYS book directly with the cruise co you will also pay later for your cruise.

Cruise118 behave more like a budget airline and not a 5 star pre cruise concierge service that they describe themselves.
ALWAYS go directly to the cruise co and pay later for your holiday. The cruise co s are a lot more interested in you as a guest than the commission hungry travel agents, and by going direct you get info from the horses mouth.
Cruise 118 gave our holiday such a bad start we will never ever use them again, and would advise anyone else against using them as well.

I couldn't agree more with you - dont use this company if you want to avoid problems - they take your money then say they cant get through to the cruse line when dealing with any problems - their staff have limited knowledge of the ships (they read from the brochure) and always pass the blame back to the cruise line when they caused the problems in the first place!

I had a lovely cruise around the Canaries on the NCL Norweigian Jade.

I wanted to provide some feedback about the excellent service provided to me by Mike Davies. Mike was incredibly helpful, professional, patient and provided a first rate service both before and after booking my holiday. His natural, relaxed style made everything seem so straightforward and like nothing was too much trouble. This was particularly evident I had some additional questions after I'd booked. My experience with some other booking agencies would have been that this would have been of less interest to them once the booking had been made. However, with Mike, it was evident that an excellent customer service and ensuring that all my queries were fully answered was an absolute priority.

So Cruise 118, I hope you fully appreciate what an absolute star you have with Mike and recognise what a great ambassador he is for your company.

Annette worked really hard to help us book our cruise on the Carnival Breeze (sailing June 2012) . It was a pleasure to deal with her, nothing was too much trouble, she called back when she said she would and always had the information we asked her for.

When we come to book our next cruise, we will have no hesitation in seeking out Annette to help us.
