“Poor treatment”

Took our c5 aircross in for a service and a mot. L got the car to the dealership for 8. 20 am l travelled through heavy rain and flooded roads to get to the dealership from market drayton . At no point did the service department inform me that the car would be at the dealership for a full day. My other car was serviced at telford in January and it took 3.5 hours. Another customer suffered the same fate ! She was of a good age and would have to have driven home in the rush hour. The service department did.nt charge me for the mot but the car should.nt have taken 8 hours? There where a couple of issues with the car that the dealership did.nt pick up on. We have had 3 cars with this dealership but there won.t be anymore purchases in the future. Awful people to deal with.

“Avoid this MG dealership”

We had the misfortune of ordering a new MG Trophy from this dealership in Shrewsbury. We ordered the car in September and paid a deposit, we were promised delivery in 10-12 weeks or by end of December at the latest. After a couple of months having not heard anything from them had a call from the salesman stating the car would be delivered towards the end of February some 5 months after ordering. We were not happy as we were looking to trade in our car which was depreciating in value and the manager wouldn't fix a price. We were offered a different colour interior which they hoped to have by mid December but offered no apology or discount for the delay. They then contacted us to say they wanted our car a week before the new one was due and they would re value it at that point. Not sure how they expected us to get around for a week or more without a car. We lost patience with them at this point and cancelled the order , they weren't bothered . We then contacted MG Stourbridge and it was a breath of fresh air, brilliant from start to finish. The manager was how a manager should be, very professional, and excellent communication. The salesman we dealt with couldn't have done anymore, perfect from the start. We got the car we ordered on the day promised, we had a guarantee price on our part ex which was set and the car itself which was the same as we had ordered from Shrewsbury was £2,000 cheaper and we got got more for ours so win win. If you want to be treated badly and pay more than you should go to Shrewsbury but if you want a better price , first class service and be treated with respect then look no further than MG Stourbridge, worth travelling for.

“Really impressed overall ”

Really impressed. We are motability customers and was very well looked after by the person we dealt with. From the time of ordering to us receiving the car, was only one week, she made sure we were up to date the whole way through and bent over backward to make sure our car was available before lockdown 2.0. Over the moon with our new vehicle, which she helped us find. She worked with us and our families needs, to find a car that was suitable for us. There was no pressure to choose a particular vehicle, but her guidance and experience shone through. Highly recommend her, and if course Budgen Motors, for anyone looking for a car.

“Abysmal service on a new vehicle”

I have a new vehicle, a Peugot 5008 SUV, bought from Budgen Motors in Shrewsbury. The first fault it developed related to the automatic dipping headlights which sometimes work and sometimes don't. I considered this to be dangerous because of its unpredictability and has still not been fixed after two visits, the second for a "software update" which meant me being without the vehicle for an entire day. The fault is pretty certain to be with the forward facing camera (error message on the display!) but they won't listen. It has now developed a second fault relating to the automatic tailgate which, like the headlights, works sometimes and sometimes doesn't. Having contacted them again today to say the headlight problem is still there and now I have the problem with the tailgate too, I was greeted with "we need the car in for the full day to investigate it". When I told the receptionist that all I wanted was to call in for someone to have a look to see what the problem might be, I was told "we still need it for the full day", this despite my plea that I was moving house and couldn't spare it for the day! My major problem with Budgen is you can't even get to speak to a mechanic, the receptionist is so obstructive and unhelpful. Totally, totally frustrating. I advised her I'd get another Peugot dealer to deal with it!!!

“Brought a used vehicle from this company with a faulty...”

Brought a used vehicle from this company with a faulty heating control, after being messed around we were finally told that the replacement part had been ordered from Ford and would be repaired the following day. We were called and told the part had arrived and replaced, when the unit broke again, we took the vehicle to a local garage who showed us the new and replaced heating control cable, which was actually crimped and glued into place, this was definitely NOT a new cable.

“Customer neglect and incompetence ”

During the middle of February this year I took my Peugeot 208 for a service at Budgen Motors Peugeot in Shrewsbury. Pretty much as soon as I got through the door a seemingly nice saleswoman asked me if I was thinking of upgrading my vehicle and told me that I would get a good deal as they were desperate to sell 17 plate models to hit targets. Eventually we came to agreement on a price that I was happy to pay for a new 5dr 208. The vehicle was ordered the next day and I was in belief I would be collecting it March 1st. I ended up having to call several times trying to find out information about the registration plate and date of collection for my insurance. I was told I would have a call back but on numerous occasions they failed to do so. February 28th I phoned yet again to find out exactly when I was due to collect this vehicle, to be told they can't get it in the colour I wanted 'bianca white.' I find it shocking that they were never able to make me aware of this and never called to let me know. They only told me this because I called first! Disappointed that I wasn't receiving a new car I complained via email a couple of days later explaining how I felt like the sales team weren't prepared to get me a good offer anymore. The next day I had a call from the saleswoman explaining that they managed to get the 208 Black Edition in the colour I wanted. I said no I just want to cancel but in reply was told 'but the vehicle is already on order.' They expected me to accept a vehicle that wasn't my original specifications as I wanted a 5dr. They were just extremely lucky I love the 208 Black Edition. A few days later I went over to sign paperwork and left happy as I was getting it at the same price! A few days later I had another call of the sales woman saying she had made a mistake with some paperwork and I had to go over again to sign it! I live in Telford so travelling to Shrewsbury because of their mistake is not convenient in the slightest. Finally after an extra 2 weeks of getting the car I get to collect it. The sales woman said she would call in a couple of days to see how I was getting on. I was also told they have a customer feedback survey and was asked a few times if I was happy to give them 10/10. I drive home and park on my drive. Try to lock with the key fob, but they haven't activated it! The amount of neglect and slip ups with this vehicle was getting ridiculous. AGAIN, I have to drive over to Shrewsbury to get this activated! Why should I have to keep going out of my way because of their simple neglect. How has so much slipped through the net? Whilst I'm over there again the saleswoman asks if I'm happy to give 10/10. Is she actually being serious. 3 weeks later I go over to the Telford Peugeot garage because my exhaust sounded like it was blowing. This is apparently fine but all of my friends/family comment on the sound and that it doesn't seem right. Whilst I'm over there they inform me I haven't set up a service plan and quoted me £790 over the 3 years. When I asked originally in Shrewsbury they told me that it was included in the price of the vehicle. This literally had to be some kind of joke. Phoned the dealership the same day to speak to saleswoman but she wasn't in. The next day the after care team call to see if everything is okay. No it is not okay!!! Absolutely shocking how this saleswoman has done nothing right and leaving me worried that I'm going to have to pay an extra £790 for the servicing when she told me it was included on 2 occasions!!! Also found out that I paid £95 for 'mats and mudflaps' but I never received these. They are now on order and the managing director is sending me a letter entitling me to 3 years free servicing. In all honestly I would never in a million years buy from any Peugeot dealership again. Still deciding if I'm going to take it even further and go to trading standards. All this dealership cares about is receiving 10/10 on a survey. Most disgusting and incompetent service you will ever receive.

On reading your review I could of almost written that word for word myself
Same thing needed to sell cars gave us a fantastic deal but then it all went wrong
And yes it was a saleswoman we dealt with and we also got asked if we weren't giving them 10 out of 10 in survey it would be better if we didn't fill it in at all for them I did manage to get a set of floor mats but still sorting out the personal registration on car and that's been going on for 6 weeks we also got told 3 years servicing but don't haveing any notification of it so need to chase that up .we have 3 new peugeots in our family and I couldn't rate Budgen highly enough up unit a couple of good salesmen left there and now it's all gone wrong we certinely won't be buying from them again

“Awful customer service”

Went in on Tuesday to have a look around. Seen a car on the forecourt we liked so went and spoke to a salesman. They looked at our car and offered us a low price for what we've got. We didn't mind too much because we liked the car we'd seen and the price was good. Went inside to find out the price of the car on the forecourt was £2,000 more than what was stated on the forecourt. So we decided to mention about the low price they'd offered for our car. The salesman went off and came back with a very confident looking woman who jumped into our car and drove off the forecourt without saying a word to us. Very rude and unprofessional in our opinion.

“Buy your vehicle from somewhere else”

Earlier this year I bought a used Citreon MPV from Budgen Motors in Shrewsbury which was advertised with a 12 month warranty. However when the paperwork came through from Citroen the warranty was for 6 months only. I rang the garage and they told me the problem would be sorted, but after several weeks nothing happened. So I rang Citroen and they told me it was up to the garage to sort out the problem and register the correct warranty, I am still waiting for a response after sending them several reminders, and the existing 6 month warranty is almost up. The car also only came with only one key, so I requested they supply me with a second copy for which I agreed to pay extra! Again despite several reminders it's now several months and I have heard nothing. It's not like they were being asked to do something for free, they can't get it right even when you are paying. They also promised the car would receive a full service before it was delivered. However when I received the logbook only an interim service had been carried out (which I believe is just an inspection), yet they had stamped the logbook to say the next service is not due for another 2 years or 22,000 miles. If I stuck to this timetable the car would be seriously overdue for a service by the time it went back to the garage, and this could cause unnecessary wear to the engine. Finally the car came with an offer of free MOT's for life, it I take it back to them of course. Given my experience, and now having read other reviews, I will gladly pay for the MOT and take it to another garage.

“Avoid ”

Dreadful service, very rude on the phone. Came up with loads of things that did not need doing. Said until they did these things they couldn't find the fault.

I agree with everything in this statement,the service manager is a joke,the receptionists do not listen to any thing you tell them,they are like robots,reading scripts,disgraceful customer service

I took my Peugeot 407 in for minor computer fault and MOT. I was telephoned back and given a list of expensive options - none of which was needed (eg the battery needed replacing at a cost of £90 - but the battery is fine, and even if it was not I could replace it for a lot less). Another item was that would not pass the vehicle for MOT unless they could replace the number plates. The number plate read SN06KER and they insisted it must be SN06 KER. I agreed on condition the original plates were retained for me to refit. I was told this would be done, and they would be in the boot. They were not and could not be found ! Spoke to the MD who promised they would be remade and sent to me. They never came !! Broken promises from a shabby company. Avoid this company at all costs.

We recently purchased a 3 year old Citroen C4 from Budgen Motors in Telford. The whole process was simple and easy with the sales guy really going out of his way to help us and address all the queries we had including getting a new tow bar fitted for us at the same price as anywhere else we had looked. We were really happy with the trade in we got on our old car, much more then we were expecting! I would highly recommend them and will be using them again when we replace our car.

“The windscreen of 307 sw”

despite checking my 307 in when i booked my car in for fitting a windscreen wiper motor a couple of minor dents were pointed out to me however after paying £472 64 i noticed they had added to the invoice that there was a crack in the windscreen. Budgen motors denied that they had damaged my windscreen,as it was there word against mine.the fitter from a windscreen replacement pointed out the two pressure points where someone had pressed the screen causing the cracks.He also pointed out that the bottom 40mm-50mm of the screen is not laminated wich is a weakness and it needs to be lubicrated before any pressure is applied. the service department were very hostile when i tried to complain..they promised a internal reveiw which i am still waiting for,although the service told me te answer would be they did not do it

“Review of parts dept only”

Review of Parts department only! And its really not good!!!!!!! I telephoned the parts department with regard to purchasing a new keyblade for my 306 cabriolet, an older model i know but a peugeot customer none the less. As my key had snapped i was looking to get a replacement same day. After speaking to the leominster and telford dealers, who were very helpful but did not have the part i required i rang shrewsbury. When i called the reception said all parts dept lines were busy and i could either hold or call back. i chose to hold. after a considerable wait on hold the line began to ring however no one answered and i was transfered back to reception who told me to call back, which i did. my second call also involved a considerable wait though i eventually got through to 'brian'. Brian who was extremely unhelpful and quite frankly rude told me the part i was after was not available to buy from peugeot. when i informed him it was available at other dealers he huffed and asked for my registration. after another considerable wait i was told to my delight that the part was available and in stock. After driving the 30miles to the dealership i eventually found the well hidden parts dept. upon my arrival i rang the bell for assitance however no one came. after approx 5 minutes i rang the bell again and still no one came. at this point a very polite and well mannered member of the sales team asked if i was been seen to. he then went out back to find a member of parts but couldnt. he then went downstairs to check if the parts team were in the service dept. he then returned to tell me that he had found the manager and informed him i was waiting after another wait (approx 20min in total) a man called 'Dave' appeared and simply said 'is the bell not working or somthing' i informed him it was working fine however no one had been bothered to help with my enquiry. i told him i had spoke to someone that morning regarding the part i reqired he went out back. when he returned he told me they did not have the part in stock. as you can imagine i was not best pleased. 'Dave' dealt with this well and was very apologetic and gave me the details of another company who could help. unfortuneatly they could not help so i returned to peugeot to make further enquiries. after another frankly quite ridiculous wait i was greeted by the elusive brian. i was spoken to by brian not only in an incredibly rude manner but also like i was a slightly simple child! I asked brian who was his manager as i was so shocked at his lack of public service skills only to be told to my amazement that brian is the manager, not only of the parts department but of the entire franchise. I can honestly say that with this mans attitude i would never even consider buying parts from this franchise let alone a car. I am not only a little upset at my dealings with this company but to be honest completely shocked!!! if you choose to deal with this company for christs sake whatever you do dont deal with Brian!!!!!

“WIll I ever get my car???”

Enquiried about a Citroen DS3 Sport in July 2011 on a lease deal through a website and was linked to a fantastic deal through Gateway to Lease. The car was ordered and all relevant paperwork sent backand approved by mid august. Request made for the car to be delivered at or around 25/09/11, which was said to be no problem as it was 6 weeks away. Following three emails and several phone calls after the requested date we were informed they did’nt even have a build date yet. I managed to find out that the car was being supplied through Budgen Motors Citroen,Shrewsbury. I initially spoke with a very nice Sara in business leasing at Budgens who confirmed that the order had been placed and confirmed, she even placed our minds at ease informing us that the car was in fact in the country and at customs, she explained the processes, re delivery to a distribution centre then to their delearship within a contractual 7 days and then a further 3 days for the cars PDI, registartion, tax etc, (worst case scenario). There were also five similar cars in a simialr situation but we were first on the list!! So we would be looking at a delivery date w/c 17/10/11. After a further 5 phone calls, no call backs and now on the 27/10/11 they have’nt got an update of when the car will be with them never mind with us!!! Wouldn’t be bad if we had use of a car such as a p/x etc, but as we’ve had to hire a car at £19 a day, so you can see that I’m not a happy chappy. Enquired July, order approved and all docs in order and recieved back by 15/08/11 , we are now coming into November and Budgens can’t update me further. I’ve ordered four new cars over the last 18 months and never had so much delay or poor service, even asked Budgens if they could get us a car to use whilst they fumbled about, offering to do the 2 hour round trip to fetch it ourselves, but this was also knocked back. This is the way they treat thousands of pounds worth of business custom in a recession I hate to see how they would deal with after service. Fortunatley after the car comes I can deal with my local Citroen garage who look after our Citroen Berlingo vans. I would have cancelled the order and orderd a new car from elsewhere if I knew what delays would have been in store and saved myself £100’s in out of pocket expenses. I guess it’s as they say “You get what you pay for”. I’d also stay away from Gateway to lease who have been as useful as a chocolate fire guard. Having recently completed a short term hire agreement with Budgen Motors I thought as it was such an easy and pleasant company to deal with I needed to let some people know. The situation was the lease on my old car was coming to an end and I had failed to order my new car in time so I would either have to revert to taxi's or the bus, so I did a quick search on Google and came up with an advert for Budgen motors so I had a look at the website. The website is ok full of information, attention to detail on design is lacking and the car hire section is not the easiest to find, something I think they need to address if car hire is important to them. Anyway back on with the review I called up and got speaking to a chap called Chris Ashford who was very helpful we ran through availability and pricing and I agreed to pick a new Peugeot 208SW the following morning. Three months later and it has just gone back, no problems, no issues all very straight forward. Throughout the hire Chris would make telephone contact and check everything was ok, if you are looking to hire a car in Shrewsbury then it must be worth a call to Chris at Budgen Motors.
