Shakespeare Slender Bender 18grm Lure Set

At first sight I thought the Shakespeare Slender Bender 18grm lure would be like a dead duck in shallow/snaggy ground and only suitable for deepwater fishing. How wrong I was. I have used this particular lure for three years now and found it to be one of the most versatile toby hybrid lures I have ever come accross. The lure is compact and well finished. It comes in a 5 set of assorted colours and is fully rigged with split rings, swivels and a good quality treble hook. My only criticism is that it does not have a second split ring to the treble which negates the lever effect of this type of lure. Because of its compact size it casts like a dream even against the wind and can be placed with ease. It is when fished that it comes in to its own. The lure despite its heavy weight can be fished just subsurface with simple angle adjustments of the rod. It can be held there with ease making fishing snagy or shallow areas that little bit easier with less resultant snagging in to the bottom. By the same measure if you know the water you are fishing it can be fished at an almost exact depth. Couple this with the very reasonable pricing on this item, (as cheap as £3 per set in some auctions), they are very good value for money. I have caught more fish on this type of lure than any other, and I fish many different types which speaks measures for its versatility. All in all apart from the lack of the second split ring, which can be easily added later, I srongly reccomend this lure which has a permanant place in my tackle box
