Bonnet Problem Sorted At Short Notice

On Saturday last, we had packed the Volvo to go to Aviemore for a few days. I went to check the oil level when the cable to pop the bonnet snapped. I went to my nearest garage but they couldn't deal with it until the Monday. I went to Best Fit. The manager said he was busy but would see if there was a quick solution. We waited 10 minutes while a small hole was made in the grill, the release mechanism was disconnected and the bonnet was opened. My kids were delighted as we would get to go away. There was no charge for the work. I was well impressed. I haven't used the garage before but I'll go back. Thanks for digging us out a big hole at short notice. Friendly staff and no stress.

This Company Choose To Advertise On The Review Cen

This company choose to advertise on the Review Centre website, but clearly don't understand the risk of advertising here. I clicked on the link and visited their website to see what prices they were quoting.

By clicking on your car, it is supposed to tell you what size of tyre the car is fitted with as standard. I checked this for four known cars in my fleet, and all four quoted the wrong tyre size. Not sure where they are getting their information from, but it really needs some work to correct it.

The website contains spelling and grammar errors in abundance, to the point that it is not clear what they mean by some of their statements. I don't wish to be unkind, but what sort of person has the skill to design a website (albeit poorly), but has little understanding of written English?

I called them to enquire about some of their prices only to note that the prices quoted on their website are widely inaccurate and out of date. They do say on the site, "Prices correct at time of print exclusive of VAT. Please phone for confirmation of prices quoted", but this doesn't excuse how badly aligned their online prices are with actual prices.

Incidentally, out of the four quotes for tyres I received over the phone, none of them were deal breakers on a like-for-like basis, so there's even less reason I would do business with them now.

I prefer the small business over the big players in respect of automotive servicing, but I have no confidence in these people. They really could do with some small business advice to drum up some business without wasting money on pointless/inaccurate advertising.

What's "contrary" about you buying tyres? Your comment doesn't change the fact that they couldn't get the tyre sizes correct for my fleet. Micra tyres are pretty small and standard. Plenty of good tyres fitters will supply and fit 4 premium brand tyres for LESS than £200. Not sure why you replied, unless you work(ed) for them? Hmmm...

contrary to your report i found this establishment very good on price and excellent on quality - four branded tyres on my micra fully fitted and balanced for £200.00
