Do Not Buy

Remote Island are bad news. If you're prepared to accept broken goods with parts missing go ahead and order from them. I purchaced a Helecopter, paid £30.00, it was a christmas gift so when it arrived I wrapped it up. Come christmas morning my husband opened the box to find the Helecopter was broken with bits snapped off and the transformer was missing.

I was told to send it back which I did (Recorded delivery)

Many telephone calls and emails later still no response. No refund, no email

They just kept my £30.00 and I would of thought along with many other customers monies?

Excellent Service And Good Quality Products.

I ordered several items from remote island, last week. Having pressed the confirm order button, I was then informed by a mate that several persons had placed negative reviews about the company on the net.

A bit concerned I wrote an email immediately.

I recieved a reply the next day, assuring me that the order had been dispatched.

A few days later a large box arrived.

I have now flown two planes succesfully, and am extremely pleased with what I have ordered.

Remote island have provided an excellent service!

Do Not Buy From Remote Island

My son ordered a replacement battery for his remote control tank from this company. They sent the wrong battery which left him in tears thinking he had done something wrong on line. I checked and he was totally correct. They have ignored all my emails and there is no phone number. Reading all the other reviews it is not just us that have been ripped off. Let your friends know how bad they are so no one else is in the same boat as us. I think this company live on a remote island!! Customer service is non existant

Thanks Bluebird2000. I had that info too. We still don't have a battery and I really hope you get a working RC plane. I'd love to hear the outcome.

bluebird2000

I feel i may have been stung! I've (literary today) ordered a rc plane from the website and i fear i may be in for some trouble.

I'll wait to see what if anything arrives and then follow your advice regarding Action Fraud.

Sons Birthday Present Didn't Arrive. No Refund As Yet!!!

I ordered a RC-Plane from these rip-off merchants (A041-RC 2CH Cessna 182 Airbus Aeroplane Kit)on the 28th April 2012, I have not received the plane or had a reponse from remote island. I have sent 5-10 emails asking them for refunds or information. The shipping was next day delivery and was for my sons birthday also.

I really hate the fact companys like this seem to get away with ripping good honest people off, if they are fleasing £40 upwards from all customers imagine what money these guys are making!!!!

I have been to citizens advise and have also contacted VISA to investigate my claims.

We'll see what happens next!!!

Wish I'd read these reviews on here before ordering with this company!!!

No Customer Service!

I bought a radio controlled boat from Remote Island. What a disappointment, it hardly worked at all. No reverse, no turning left or right, only one motor functioned. Sent email to so called "Customer Service" weeks ago. Have now asked for a returns label and my money back. The Trading Standards People should prosecute them and close them down so as to protect more of us mugs from being fleeced. Still no response from Remote Island. Warning! Buyer Beware of Remote Island!

Remote Island Should Not Be Allowed To Trade

We bought a model plane described as ready to fly. When it arrived it was clear that it needed assembly and we had not skills to do this so I sent it back by courier, intact in its box, with written notification and with courier insurance, and within two days of receipt. A month on, they refuse to answer my emails, provide no contact number, no personal names, just an automated response. The products are not well described. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. If company does not provide a phone number and a contact, beware.

Do not buy from them.

Payment Taken, No Delivery, No Excuse, Final Refund.

I ordered an RC police boat from these guys at the start of March for my son's 4th birthday on their 'guaranteed next day delivery'.

The money wa taken promptly, but two days on - no boat.

I emailed them to ask where it was - no reply.

1 week on, with no boat in sight I sent another email - again no response.

By 2 weeks, I had sent 4 or 5 emails without response, including demanding my money back.

I then had to write a recorded delivery letter stating 'breach of contract' to both the Birkenhead and Sunderland address to ensure they received my refund demands.

Eventually they emailed back (about a month from my order) saying simply they would 'trace the delivery' - I think they were having a laugh.

I also contacted the Sunday Post to investigate the business as this seems to be happening far too often.

Another email and another week passed until they eventually agreed to refund the money.

I wonder how many people give up and let these guys get away with the £30+ rather than fight it.

Anyone who has fallen into the same trap as me, please don't let them get away with it.

I was willing to go through a small claims court if need be - even if that left me out of pocket as these guys should be ashamed of themselves.

Do Not Order From This Company!

I ordered a remote control tank for Christmas, which was received promptly but did not work. I wrote several emails to the company (no phone number available) & eventually received a return form. I completed the form & returned the item but didn't receive a replacement as requested. I followed this up with a letter requesting them to respond but didn’t hear anything. I wrote several more emails demanding a replacement or refund. I eventually received a refund, but had no acknowledgement from the company to inform me. If you have already ordered something for under £100 & are having difficulty obtaining a refund from the company, you can write to your credit card issuer (enclosing copies of the receipt & all correspondence) & request a ‘chargeback’ to the retailer – this can be requested up to 120 days after the purchase. When you return the item or write to the company do not just obtain proof of posting from the Post Office, but ensure you send everything recorded delivery so that Royal Mail have to obtain a signature upon delivery which you can then view on the Royal Mail website.
