The Slaughtered Lamb In Clerkenwell, London Is Tuc
The Slaughtered Lamb in Clerkenwell, London is tucked away about a 10 minute walk from Old Street tube station. It's fairly standard fare inside with a mixture of tables with Chesterfield leather sofas and old fashioned wing chairs. It was fairly packed when we arrived at 8 on a Saturday evening, service wasn't too bad and drinks are priced fairly reasonably for London.
It started to get a little more empty as the night wore on and by 11.30 more than half the punters had left. This allowed us a chance to have a nose at the regulars, a couple of bow ties and quirky glasses were spotted but nothing too crazy or alternative, not enough to make you feel out of place.
The music started off as "retro" pop, so heaps of Madonna and other pop hits of the 80's. It gradually veered into heavier 80's rock, probably intended to be ironic but a bit lacking tbh.
The Slaughtered Lamb is fine to have a few drinks with friends if you're in the area, the chips are pretty good and a generous size for £3. But if you've travelled a way then perhaps start here then move on as the place empties out.
nice review - I've been here a few times, and always found it a little pricey - in fact, I think I paid over £4 for a pint the last time I was there!
