“Tell lies - Terrible customer service”

In early November I ordered a TV in time for Christmas. The website said it was in stock so I paid by paypal. Couple of days later I had a phonecall saying they could not deliver as waiting on supplier, would be another week which was fine by me. No contact from then on, I called them 2 weeks later was told another 10 days. This pattern continued with each phone call I made kept being put back with an assurance I would definately get the TV before Christmas. By mid December I was getting desperate and after speaking to a womin in their customer services who was extremely rude to me I searched and found these reviews on the company. How I wish I'd seen them before ordering! I called customer services back mentioned the reviews I had read anf the chap was finally honest enough to admit I was unlikely to get the TV before Christmas. I requested a refund which I eventually got because I went direct to Paypal's resolutions procedures as I didn't trust their accounts department to act very quickly. Don't believe a word this company says. If an item says it is in stock on the website it is probably not the case and the rude woman in customer services needs sacking although she is probably a family member of the owners because I cannot see how else she can treat customers in the way that she does. Company deserves to go under.

“Terrible, avoid”

Terrible, avoid. Took money from card immediately, nothing turned up in the 'usually 3-5 days availability', a month later no different, no apology,don't care attitude, item still advertised as as top deal despite the fact we have been told no deliveries of the item in a month and none guaranteed. Cancelled order, accepted as such over the phone, no confirmation forthcoming, no refund forthcoming, emails ignored. Liked nothing about it. Last week we ordered a hob and oven from 2 different suppliers both deliverd within days.

“Still waiting for refund!”

I ordered a TV stand which was showing in stock. However 4 days later I was contacted to say that it was out of stockand would be re stocked within 7-10 days, I decided to wait. over the next few days I emailed them for information and finally I received an email saying the the item was not expected until December so would I like a refund or like to wait. I asked for a refund. I was told the refund would take two days,four days later no refund, so chased them again, and was told that 'The guy who does refunds is on holiday and it would be early the next week'. A week later I phoned again saying I'd no refund and was told that a refund can take up to 21 days! I asked to spaek to accounts and was told quite aggresivley, that they do not take calls! BUlly for them eh? I was amazed at the way I was handled, companies like this go bang every day, a sad fact but true. Electrotown have had my money for over 11 weeks and I've still not rhad a refund. The item is still for sale on their website,so presume other people are going through this process? I would never buy from this company again and would NEVER recommend them EVER!

“Item shown in stock when not, took money, now won't...”

I ordered a fridge-freezer from Electrotown on September 24th 2011. It was wanted urgently and the website said that it was in stock. We ordered. When it didn't arrive we rang about the delivery date and they said it was out of stock, no known delivery date. We said that in that case we must cancel and buy elsewhere. I suspect the the fridge-freezer is discontinued or a non UK model - it is not on the manufacturer's UK website. They accepted the cancellation by phone on October 6th and said they would pass it to the Accounts Department for a Refund. By 24th October no refund - so called again. They said they would chase up the accounts department. By October 31st, no refund, so called again. No-one senior I can talk to, the accounts dept doesn't take outside calls, and she promised to chase up accounts again...

I wish i had read your review before ordering my daughter's television for her birthday.On website it was in stock charged my credit card the day i ordered it,then received a phone call saying its out of stock due into warehouse in 7-10 days.Asked them to refund credit card and only charge it when the stock was ready to be despatched still waiting for refund and now been told its going to be at least another two weeks before they receive the stock.Still on website stating in stock and delivery within 3-5days! Would never use again or recommend that anyone else use them.

I am also having the same problem with purchasing a TV. The website said in stock, I ordered it, to then get told its out of stock and they cancelled my order also taking my money in the same day! Then to ask when my money will come back (*tumble weed*) they just don't care extremely unhappy with the service and still waiting for refund

Fantastic service! Ordered the TV on their website and received a call the following day advising me of delivery - I even had to ask them about extended cover - what a refreshing change for it not to be pushed down your throat! - Anyway goods arrived in A1 condition and right on time - use these guys - they are really good.

Had a very pleasant experience purchasing from Electrotown. Ordered the Television online on Saturday afternoon and took delivery on Monday PM.

Was contacted to confirm delivery on the Saturday and told when to expect my TV to arrive. Would not hesitate to use this company again.
