Stockport Flooring - Pre 29th Feb 2012

Have been trying to receive a promised sample of Quick Step flooring since 24th May.

Have now made 8 phone calls and been told that they can't understand what's happened and will put another in post. Still waiting! Now when I try to ring i'm put on automated hold for up to 20mins and then cut off.

I'm NOT going to deal with this company under any circumstances and consider myself lucky judging by so much negative feedback.

I strongly advise avoiding this company regardless of any price they quote you. I went to them on a recommendation and it is by far the biggest mistake I have ever made. After getting what I thought was a good deal has turned out to be a massive joke. Placed the order, and confirmed an installation date at a set time. The "installation team" turned up nearly 4 hours late and blamed their own boss (very professional) and have now left me with an unfinished floor. I have tried on several occasions to speak with the "owner" to arrange finishing this off, but have had intermittent responses. Poor communication, no concept of customer service and clearly do not value customers or their reputation. DO NOT USE - YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!

Please be aware that this company go under several names such as Stockport Flooring Solutions and Directflooring2u. They are based on Stanley Green Trading Estate, Cheadle Hulme.

In June 2011 I ordered some additional flooring to extend a wooden floor bought previously from this company. I paid in cash upfront for a special order that was supposed to take 3 weeks. Nothing arrived and there was no communication from them. None of my phone calls were returned and letters, sent recorded delivery, were ignored. In the end I resorted to getting a judgement against them in the small claims court but this too was ignored. I have given up hope of ever getting the goods I ordered but I intend to make life as difficult for them as possible and have just got the debt collectors who my firm uses to take on the case.

The warning signs were there because the day I went in to order another customer was having an argument about a similar problem. I should have walked away then but as the previous purchase had gone through without a problem I didn't. Isn't hindsight wonderful.

We spent nearly £4000 with this company on a wooden floor. Within weeks it had started to lift. I recalled them and after months and months of delays, excuses and failure to turn up they refused to acknowledge any of it was their fault. I had an independent survey carried out by a NICF and FITA inspector and his report indicated they had fitted it badly and it was entirley their fault. They still refused to acknowledge any responsibility.

I tried to speak with the director of the company but he was rude and abusive.

I am considering legal action but as with most crooks they wouldn't pay up.

I also heard they have gone out of business. This would be the best outcome so they can't rip anybody else off.

Please do not consider using this company, they would only be intersted in your money and have little or no skills in this business.

My big regret is not finding this site earlier as it looks like I am not alone.

Where to start.... i ordered some Karndean flooring from this company over the phone, They took my card details and I was told as soon as it is processed they would ship my flooring. they never took payment so I called and they said they had a problem with their card machine, could i pay by Bank Transfer, which I did.

8 weeks later of going back and forth, still no flooring! so I asked for a refund, which they said would credit my account in 3 - 4 working days! No refund came. We called again, no one had done it. So we spoke to a Barry who assured us it would be processed and we would have it in about 7 days. Still no refund.

So we then decided to call them again... spoke to Barry, we told him that we had contacted our advocate and he has told us to send a cancellation letter by registered post, followed by a complaint letter, we also found out their local newspaper and were going to write to them, that we would be copying in Trading Standards and contacting Karndean flooring.

He assured us he that the funds would be in the account on Thursday and asked "if the payment is their will you NOT go ahead with contacting Trading Standards and Karndean".

It's Thursday today, and we have a payment in our account. So all I can advise is, take action this company is obviously trying to rip people off.

You need to persue with Legal action... otherwise this company will keep getting away with it!!

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a company! Definitely do not buy from these guys.

I ordered £500 worth of flooring months ago from stockport flooring after seeing the completlyflooring.co.uk website . Was told it would take 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I called them and they gave me a delivery date. Took time off to stay at home for the delivery which never arrived. I was then told it was in packing, then again it never arrived, they finally told me that they actually have never had it! Gave them another chance, and still no flooring.

So I told them to cancel the whole order and to refund my money. They said I would get it within 7 days. That was about 3 months ago! I called again after The 1st month thinking of the whole can take up to 30 days thing, and was told they had to change the company they were using for credit/debit card processes or something so they would send me a cheque that would be with me within a week. Never arrived, they avoid my calls, never ever called me back after endless messages. I am still waiting on my check, last time I got hold of them on the phone I said I would be contacting my solicitor if I didn't receive it in 7 days. They are obviously not bothered about a legal investigation as still no cheque.

I have checked with citizens advise bureau and I am contacting my solicitor tomorrow morning. Surely it is illegal to take money from someone's account and fail to provide the product or service promised?

Extremely annoyed!! They are not to be trusted!

I should have been wary from the rearranged quotation appointment. On the 30th September I was told that my order would be fitted within 7 - 10 days. After 3 phone calls I was given a fitting date of 27 th October . 7.45 am on the fitting day I was told that there was a problem, but the carpet would be fitted the next day or Friday at the latest, I would receive a phone call at 9.00 to confirm the day. AN hour later I rang them, I was promised a confirmation phone call within the next 10 minutes, they were awaiting delivery of the carpet. No return phone call. At 12.00 I rang them, and was told that the carpet was not available. They would send someone around straight away, with alternative samples, this was a 10 minute journey, over a hour later, someone arrived with some samples of an inferior product. I was told that they were more expensive but they were bear the cost. I knew this to be untrue, as we had already rejected this carpet as not suitable for the area.

I now have to start again, but I know I will not set foot in Stockport Flooring again!

We ordered an adhesive from Stockport flooring and paid by paypal. After weeks of chasing them the glue never arrived therefore after six weeks of placing the order we decided to cancel it. That was back in April and are still waiting for a refund. I have made over 30 phonecalls and have been told that the refund will arrive by paypal which it hasn't. The latest update is that they are writing me a cheque but that was three weeks ago so its fair to say we won't be getting the refund any time soon.

I have used this company before with no problem but this time when I ordered 2 lots of Karndean worth over £1000 the money was debited from my credit card account the day after ordering but the goods hadn't been delivered after a fortnight. One excuse after another was trotted out and I think I spoke to every employee bar the works cat, all to no avail. Not once did any of them return a phonecall. At first I was told they weren't delivering as they only had part of my order then when I told them to deliver what they had they came up up with delivery dates. I took the time off work but they still didn't deliver. After 4 weeks I finally got them to admit that they actually didn't have any of the items but once again was promised they would deliver the next week. Stupidly I gave them one last chance to deliver but once again was let down. I then cancelled my order and spoke to my credit card provider who sorted a credit for me. Well done MBNA.

Have to say the staff at Stockport Flooring were really helpful and very friendly. Makes a refreshing change! They showed a good level of knowledge to help me get the right product. The safety floor vinyl was perfect and the price was very competitive. Would highly recommend.
