Movecorp are in the process of going in to liquidation....hooray!! But I have spoken to one of their ex drivers who has told me they are back in business under the name of removals.co.uk a trading name of Nationwide Removals and Storage Ltd. Same address, same people with their big cars no doubt and same vans but with a different name on. Totally wrong.

we chose Movecorp to shift back from the UK to nz. We have moved many times both nationally and internationally. This turned out to be a disaster for us. They did not do what they quoted and promised to. Our move included a car which their rep agreed a platform would be built around. This would ensure using all the space above the car. On the day this was not done and our goods did not fit. We were given a quote for our excess. We were booked to leave the country before our goods were. Once back in nz we received an email for nearly three times the amount they had said. So not only did they not build the platform around the car which meant there was so much empty space in the container, they then stopped our first container until we paid an exorbatant amount for the overflow. To add injury to insult our goods arrived damaged and badly packed. Do not use this company. We have used companies such as crown and grace in the past and I wish we had gone with them. We have never had such an awful and expensive experience such as the one with Movecorp.

By far the worst company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Initial quote was around £800 but ended up paying around £1600. Delivery was quoted at three weeks but took nearly six, which we only found out by repeatedly emailing them about the delivery date. Communication was, at best, sparse and slow. Collection was on time but removal men had no respect for our belongings. Also fabricated the condition of our belongings marking everything as "scratched", "soiled", "marked" - even those that were already packed in boxes (their x-ray vision really let them down). Delivery men were much nicer, and agreed that a number of items of furniture were damaged (bed frame, mattress, headboard, chest of drawers, radiator). Movcorp tried to lie their way out of paying anything by claiming we refused the wrapping service that is considered standard service (but backed down when I asked them to prove it). Insurers are pretty much as useless as Movecorp and will try to avoid compensating you at all. They will listen to your complaint, but don't expect any kind of compensation or acknowledgement of a shoddy service. Also don't respond to any social media messages. If you DO use these charlatans, arrange your own insurance as their valuation form is rubbish and they refuse to cover half the stuff we paid to cover.
