M-Butterfly

i bought a pair of earrings from their plymouth store last week. First time i wore them they fell apart. When i tried to return them they said they do not give refunds - even when the product is faulty! I pointed out that if their goods were faulty then i was entitled to some recompense but they said it had nothing to do with them as it was for me to take it up with the manufacturer. How the hell can i find which backstreet market trader in hong kong who made them !!!

I purchased a dress from m-butterfly, Chichester store. The dress was lovely but the first time I washed it (following the washing instructions) the colours ran and the dress looked awful. I returned this to the shop but was told the dress was not faulty as I could not prove I had washed the dress correctly. The manager even went as far as to tell me the 30 degree wash sign on the dress meant hand wash! She also tried to claim it was not the stores responsibilty to give me a refund as I should go direct to whoever made the dress. I therefore contacted madame butterfly directly (by email as they have no phone number and I had to do this twiceas the first time I received no reply) they have finally agreed to give me my money back after I pointed out they were in breach of consumer rights.

I would strongly advise not to purchase clothes from this store. They are very reluctant to refund faulty items and you will have to argue the law before they even consider it.
