I was recommended CarHireX by a friend who uses it regularly. I booked a 7 seater rental from Malaga Airport over easter. We booked a car for two adults and 4 children with plenty of space for luggage and the car provided was exactly as stated on the website. The car provided was by Alamo which is a well known brand. The price I paid on CarHireX was at least £300 cheaper than booking with Alamo directly. The booking process online was smooth and clear and the people at Alamo were helpful and knowledgeable. Overall a very good experience and would definitely use this website again.

I was going to book with them but just realised there are no contact details anywhere or even a referral to the actual car hire company. One word: dodgy.

I hired a car from a website called CarTrawler (CarHireX appears at the bottom of all the emails/documentation). They apparently directed another Car Hire company to provide me a car in the Lewisham area for pick up at my local railway sytation. Needless to say there was no hire car there for me to collect. On calling the provider I was told that they have an office in Wembley and i could coollect a car from them but they had had no instruction in my name from any car rental website company.

I did not get the car I needed and the cost is due to be debited from my account. I am not sure how much a wasted day of my miserable life is worth but I will certainly dissuade any of my family, friends or anyone that cares to listen from using any of the companies mentioned above.

I recently rented a vehicle from London Heathrow for 5 days (collected 20th Oct and returned 25th Oct 2010). I searched various sites for the cheapest deal and found a Ford Fiesta for 95 quid on www.CarHireX.com. I only needed a small car as there were only my wife and I, but when we arrived at heathrow, we got a free upgrade to a Renault Scenic 1.6 because they didn't have any small cars left in stock! It was apparently 2 or three levels above the Fiesta that we booked. Sweet! The car had 400 miles on the clock and smelled and looked brand new! I don't normally write reviews online unless i had a bad expereince, but this time I got such a good deal i thought i would share it!
