June Coeln - Growing Pains

I bought this novel for my ten year old daughter because she liked the cover. The spider web with dew drops caught her immediate attention as did the title. From the minute she picked it up she was engrossed in the story about the heroine Christina. I had to tear the book away from her even at dinner time, something that is rather rare. She kept turning the pages until the end. The book was funny and sad at the same time. Some chapters made her laugh out loud and some had her crying. The characters seems so real to her.

As she had enjoyed the book so much, I picked it up and read it too. It was a good novel especially for young children to learn about life and the hardships that children in different parts of the world have to encounter.
