I've made a big mistake to book with travel agent.I've deposited £1,000 for my family to have christmas and attend the death anniversary of my mum in my hometown in Philippines but I didn't know that they cancel my booking after two weeks.evel people, they dont have a spirit.now I tried to claim my money in atol and I'm hoping that they can my money.please people who works in atol help us who's claiming a refund....

hi all sorry to hear you all had the same problem me too paided £640 for a flight to hong kong wanted all money up front,was waiting for e ticket guess what never got it,phoned for 3 days number not availble disconnected,sent e mails no answear guess i knew what was coming phoned quatar yes confirmed gone bust. last time i book this type off holday on the internet,sorry to all you hard working people,some ones having a nice christmas on us.

DO NOT USE THESE EVIL PEOPLE, IF THEY HAVE GONE BUST THERE BOUND TO OPEN UP AGAIN UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME

BOOKED AND PAID FOR 2 FLIGHTS TO AUSTRALIA ON 31ST OF OCTOBER BUT THEY WERE CANCELLED ON THE 14TH OF NOVEMBER. WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS WHY ETHIAD USE SUCH A COMPANY TO ADVERTISE AND PROMOTE THEIR BUSINESS. DISCRACEFUL ALL ROUND.

I have also been scammed by Atc uk. This was a family trip for Christmas. So upset. Be careful times are hard and some businesses are being unscrupulous to lay their hands on cash. Pay by credit card for all things as you can claim your money back from the chargeback scheme if things go wrong.

Hi I just experienced similar problems with this company. I paid 500 pounds deposit for two tickets to Mauritius for my friend and I and was supposed to clear the outstanding balance by 2nd of Dec. I have been trying to contact the company non-stop since Monday to pay the balance but no answer - having read your reviews, I now know they have gone bust. I managed to find 2 tickets to Mauritius but it's costing me 120 pounds more per person. I feel let down and very angry with this company. They knew they were going bust, they should have never taken money from anyone especially at this time of the year when there are so many expenses. Does anyone know if the bank will refund the whole amount? Thanks

Hi All,

I booked my flights with this company at the beginning of November - they took a holding deposite of £500 & were due to rake the remaining amount on the 20th November. Of course, the funds have not been taken & i have spend all day trying to contact them but the lines are constantly engaged. This gave me a bad feeling so decided to see if any info on the net & came across all these posts. Yes ATCUK have gone bust which, is confirmed on the ATOL website. The deposite was paid on Credit Card, if any of you did the same, contact your Credit Card provider. Under section 74 of the Customer Credit Act i think a refund is something they can do. On the ATOL website there is a claim form which, tells you what to do next.

I am gutted about this & very angry considering they must have known they were in difficulty at the time they took my deposite. Good luck people - i hope you all manage to get your money back!

this is no so happening...i cant believe im reading this bad reviews about atcuk...i am off to go home this december, i made a £250 deposit with them and already booked my flights and hotels going to london since i need to get the flights from there...can someone please tell me what to do...the airfare gone up now and i want my deposit back if they could no longer give me my flights...this is really sad...

Hi all. had the same problems with ATCUK. nobody answering calls. Contacted ATOL and they confirmed my worst fears. They HAVE gone bust: Gutted as i should have been travelling to Thailand on 28th Dec with my wife. Paid 500 deposit, called the airline and nothing they can do except sell me the sme seats for twice as much as ATCUK quoted!!
All we can do now is put a claim in with ATOL in the hope we get our money back. Totally ruined my Christmas and New Year, Fraudsters!!!!

i have up to date information fo air travel consultants. i booked a fliht and i paid £300 deposit, i have been calling them to pay off the rest but they were not answering so i called the airline and tehy told me to go on www.atol.org.uk and it is on their website that air travel went into liquidation on the 16th of November 2010 and i called 'atol' and they told me to check in the next few days on their website there will be forms to download inorder to claim my money back, it will take them 28days to respond to the app form and longer to pay me back, i am so devasted because i was going to see my mum and dad that i havent seen for 10yrs and now to tell them i am no longer coming when i had told them i was is going to be so devastating for them, i can only pray i get money to book my flight with the airline on the same date as i was going to travel'sob sob'

oh my God.i just cant believe what im reading from this reviews.i have the same problem.ive booked a flight with atcuk since august 2010 for a family of four holiday in dec.i paid 500 pounds deposits and was told to clear the rest of the balance by the end of this month.i have been calling atcuk in the last two weeks to confirm my flight and pay my balance but nobody answers all their numbers theyve given or its busy 24hrs.its very fraustrating as its a family holiday planned a year ago and they want to ruin it.im left hanging now as i dnt know what to do.at least to contact customers and let us know what is going on.i have 3 weeks to travel and i really cant miss it.has anyone been to their office or know if this travel agent exist?please help.its very hard to loose money as this time of the economy.

Hi all,

I've been experiencing exactly the same today, tried calling to get a flight confirmation since august booking and they are not answering. I got home to find a legal document to say they have gone into Liquidation!!! I have no idea where i stand since they have deposits!! Will update when I know more!

Hi, I am experiencing the same trouble with this company as some others on here. Booked 5 tickets to USA for December and paid £750.00 deposit. Now I tried calling them for the past 6 days but nobody answers the call not even an answering machine. Does anyone know if this is a real travel agency or just fraud.

Dear Sean,
On 15 April 2010 my friend and I booked a flight through your agency from London Heathrow to Buenos Aires, Argentina for £830 on Iberian Airways. We paid on two separate cards, one credit and one debit card and the money was debited from our account on 22 April 2010. On several occasions after this transfer we liaised with Imran to confirm when we would have further paperwork about these flights but did not receive an answer. We were told we would receive e-tickets shortly (in April) and then specifically on 1 or 2 May 2010. When we did not receive these we assumed that the booking information on our first email was sufficient. I have since found out that by law you are supposed to issue an ATOL Confirmation Invoice within 7 days of booking and either ticket within 24 hours of being paid or issue you with an ATOL Confirmation.
On Tuesday 3 August 2010 I telephoned ATCUK to ask about online check in for the flight on Wednesday 4 August 2010 that we had booked and was told I would be called back. Imran called me back about twenty minutes later to inform me that the flight was overbooked specifically by 30 people and that I could either travel on 10 August or have my money back. There was no apology for this and I pointed out that it was something I would not have known unless I had telephoned that day. His answer was that he had only found out himself that morning. I telephoned my travelling companion, Martin and informed him because he had not been telephoned either and then I telephoned Iberian airways. Iberian airways informed me that the flight was fully booked but NOT overbooked and although they had at one stage received a booking for Martin and I it had been cancelled because no funds had been received for it from you. This information confirmed that Imran and lied about the situation and that your company was directly at fault for the booking cancellation.
Following this information Martin and I both telephoned to speak to someone in order to resolve the problem. Martin was told Imran was on lunch and could not help and I was told that they would not be dealing with me and that I should not worry about anything it was all fine, a statement I resented considering £830 of my money had been taken several months previously and had been collecting interest in your business account.
Martin spent the whole day in communication with you trying to find new flights, a costly activity because he had to call you several times for long periods of time. We asked and certainly expected some compensation or at least an upgrade for the huge inconvenience caused and unprofessional manner it had been dealt with. However, we were told that our compensation was you purchasing a new flight at a higher cost (this we noted by our new tickets was minimal). I adamantly disagree with this answer considering the only impact on us was to lose three days of our expensively purchased holiday. We also then travelled to Argentina on inferior airlines (Air Europa and Aerolineas Argentinas).
I would like to point out that it was absolutely unacceptable that it took Martin many hours before a member of your staff would even acknowledge that a mistake had been made on your part. I suggest you provide a better level of customer service training for your staff because all members of your company that I have spoken to (apart from James who was the most helpful) have been either incompetent or incredibly rude. When I called to find out your surname, Afrov did not know it and was shockingly rude, defensive and aggressive when I asked for his name.
The Supply of Goods & Services Act 1982 states that a service must be done to a reasonable standard, and must be done at a reasonable cost and within a reasonable time. This was definitely not the case when reviewing the service we received from ATCUK.
I am very disappointed that by supporting a smaller business such as ATCUK rather than the larger market players such as STA travel I have been caused such inconvenience and received such poor service. I am sad to say that in the future I will not be doing the same and will book with larger more reliable companies.
I have attached correspondence to this email but mainly communications took place on the telephone.
I would like you to financially compensate Martin Collins and myself for the inconvenience, loss of holiday time (three days) and numerous telephone call costs incurred.
I look forward to your reply within 14 days and hope this matter can be sorted out quickly.

DONT BOOK WITH THEM!
