“Can I do negative stars?”

These jerks--by mistake--deleted my website. When I called them, they told me that it was my fault (? my account was paid up!). But OK, everyone makes mistakes. Except that, OOOPS, they didn't have a back up. And oh, yeah, they had no interest in helping me out, even if I could locate backups. I wouldn't go near these people. Stay away. Their idea of customer service is apparently to take your check and twiddle their thumbs. The worst OTHER site hosting is better than these people. Just for what it's worth? If you can't find a telephone number or name of the owners or management? Not a good sign.

“Don't they want my custom?”

All i wanted was to get a domain name hosted. Why do they need to phone you up? Not explained and is inconvenient for me. Ok. My billing address is in England but I am currently in the Philippines. So, a phone call is now not enough for me. Now they want to email me an "account verification" which I have to print out, fill in, scan or fax it back to them along with a passport I.D. or similar. I declined their kind offer. Overkill designed to annoy and stress you out. All for one little domain.

“Time Consuming Circular Responses”

I need to transfer my domain to another host that provides ASP.NET. I had to repeatedly log on to my accounts, but there is no way to accomplish what I needed. So I tried chat, selecting technical support. After a long delay, I was connected to sales instead and had to transfer. Another very long delay before technical support told me to email my request with the last four of the credit card to validate. Email support instructed me to log on or to use chat. I suspect that current support personnel were recruited from Microsoft.

“Not reliable”

My site was shutdown without informing me ahead of time. I was forced to open a VPS account, which is fine. Then, I couldn't even access my business class account any more. I was promised that someone was working on copying over my site to the VPS account, but that did not happen. The bottom line is: - A live site was shutdown by inmotion without calling first - Did not fulfill what was promised. - The site has been down for over 20hrs. I liked inmotion initially, but it is appearing to be going downhill, a trajectory shared by many hosting companies.

“Was sold a vps $900 package with service and got none”

I was sold the glitz and glam of the $900 a year package with Mike B. today and even took screenshots that your people would help migrate my site over from Hostgator for free. What I got was a bunch of headaches and emails on how to do it myself. Thanks for nothing. I could have stayed with Hostgator and had them migrate it in house. I think I'll be canceling my non-service with you because that is not a very good indication of the future Service.

“Unable to conduct normal business with InMotion”

My business, like many others on the web, relies on customers to submit files to have work done with them. After being with InMotion for about 8 months I received an email stating that because customers were uploading files to my site I was in violation of their policy against archiving and storing files. Not true since nothing was there for more than a couple of days before being deleted. (What exactly is "unlimited" anyway?) I was given 5 days to move, and told to stop doing business immediately. So far I have been unable to negotiate a refund for the remaining 4 months. I talked this over with 5 other hosts in the top 10 rankings, and they all said they couldn't understand why this would be any problem. My theory is that InMotion is run by Democrats, they received a huge government bail-out, and now they need to shut down any small business they come across. Fortunately there are other hosts who understand what it takes to conduct business on the web.

“Not for serious work”

Inmotion hosting has very slow servers that are usually once a month down. Support staff (only on chat) are very kind but that is it. Once when you have a bigger problem that includes technical Administrators everything is going down, very slow response and resolving a problem takes lot of time. Inmotion hosting is ok for personal small websites and blogs but for any serious work i would recommend someone else.

“Simply awful”

I read their reviews which is why I shelled out more than $200 a month for their premier web server. Unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with their service. There has been more than one occasion where their entire datacenter (including inmotionhosting.com) went down! They also didn't provide root access which caused a huge headache. To top it off I had an alleged DMCA violation from a website I owned that was not even hosted with them. The alleged copyright holder contacted inmotionhosting and they shutdown my entire server without even verifying that the DMCA violation existed nor without giving me any warning at all. It has been nearly 20 hours and I have still not been able to get in touch with legal to get my websites running. I lose around $1000 a day every day the site is down. I was willing to pay top dollar for reliable service. With Inmotion hosting, I was paying top dollar for really bad stuff. EXTREMELY disappointing. Avoid at all cost

1. I am paying 37.5$ for backups. But Inmotion only have 24-36 backup with them. Other hosting providers ( I have subscribed) are keeping a backup history with 1 month,1 week and last 7 days backup. Which really have to have to get the advantage of Backups. This paid backup system is really terrible. One of my site was hacked but I couldn't restore it with my backups since the y only have useless backups. 2. My dedicated server was moved without dropping a email regarding it. And the they have not moved last minute backups. What they have done is restore the new server with their backups. So my customer lost their updated and uploaded data to their sites. 3. With the dedicated server I got Inmotion giving 4000GB Bandwidth quota. One of my site gave an error of "Bandwidth Exceed Error". I changed the site allocated site Bandwidth to Unlimited and even after that site having the same error while my Server used only 112 GB out of 4000GB monthly bandwidth. I had a chat with Support team and asked the person contacted to resolve the issue. He said check it with cPanel of the site. Then I tried 2 hours to resolve the problem myself Then I raised a Support ticket and by the time I am sending this feedback It is 3 hours passed and not yet solved. I check the status of my ticket with the Online chat and they said ticket has been allocated to the System-Admin queue and will be resolved. now I am really disappointed With the service of Inmotion Hosting. There is no direct immediate contact (Account Manager) to contact at problems.So no responsible person to contact. All above are really need for a Hosting provider. Now I feel I have cheat on Inmotion customer feedbacks and about the comments on Forums.

“I bought inmotion's business pack, it took me back...”

I bought inmotion's business pack, it took me back $100+/year.
Sadly it wasn't a fair price. Inmotion suspended my website and
account while i was running a basic php regex in a for loop.
They sent an email saying i was using too much cpu and without
any warning redirected my site to a "SUSPENSION NOTICE" page.

I sent them back 4 emails and my site was available 5 hours after
i contacted tech support. After that they sent me an email
saying i have to upgrade to a $300/month package or they will
suspend my account again.

This was totally ridiculous. My advice to php/mysql webmasters
is to stay away from this company if the website they want to
build uses basic php function.

Having said that, Inmotionhosting has a good configuration
page - the Cpanel, but you can find it in all other million
web hosting companies.
