We Arrived At Club Orient In The Early Hours Of 28
we arrived at club orient in the early hours of 28/08/10 first impressions were fine .the young guy on night duty was very helpful even though we had to carry 8 suitcases up the stairs even though there was a lift.the first few days were fine ,it was so hot we priced air con which was 42 pounds.i thought this was expensive,but another member of our party opted for this.on receiving the air con it did not seem to work very well.it was reported to reception that it did not seem to work properly ,they sent maintenance guy up ,he was messing about with it and said it was fine.it still was not cold so thought maybe as it was so hot outside this could be the problem.3 days before the end of the holiday gamza sari whom i assume was the manager was spoken to again regarding the air con got someone in to look at the air con .and to our surprise the whole unit had to be replaced which was carried out.the member of our party thought it would be fair to be refunded some of the money as it only worked 3 days out of 14,the manager advised that as it was not reported sooner no refund would be made .this was incorrect as it was reported on several occasions just in the 1st week.though i cant complain about my own room several guests on the opposite block had been there a week and not once was there bedding or towels changed.one woman i spoke to at the pool had gone out and bought her own supplies as any marks on bedding and towels had to be paid for so could not be used as its impossible to keep a towel clean if it is being used.the food that the restaurant supplied was not up to standard and we could not eat there as many of the other guests also complained.there were 2 guys that worked in the restaurant ,every time you asked for something they either ignored you or took so long to get your order mainly just drinks ,it was quicker just to get up and go to bar yourself.1 guy who went by the name of alex ,every time the children went for ice cream or lollies he always asked them to get him 1 then put it on your bill.we had been there a week and there was a robbery in the apartment directly opposite my own apartment ,the thieves had cleaned it out and also wiped the safe out as well.not 1 member of staff came to us and advised us to be careful ,i was listening to the conversation in the corridor as there was gamza sari (which i assume was the manager) and 4 police officers ,she was translating between the guests and the police.once the police had left gamza sari advised the victims of the robbery not to tell the other guests which i thought was very unfair,as people needed to be on their guard.i had to remove everything from my safe and carry everything with me .i told as many guests as i could about this and they all agreed that they should have been informed.after this we only slept and showered in cold water in this apartment .the final insult was that we needed to keep the room on for a couple of hours till our coach picked us up .gamze sari wanted 20gbp which i thought was too much it was not the money it was the principle .i went to speak with her and asked her why it was this much when the room was only 40 gbp for 2 weeks .she started getting really nasty and told me i was a liar and that i did not pay this amount for the room.luckily i had all the paperwork with me and a breakdown of the price .she still insisted i was lying .my friend who works for the holiday company was staying in the apartments over the road .she vouched what i said was true but still to no avail .they told us that we were not allowed to complain about anything.i told her i would be writing on here and letting other people know how she treated her guests she told me to do what the f??k i like she did not care what other people and guests think ,which i thought was very unprofessional as they rely on people like me to make a living.i was also scammed on the bill .i had to pay a bill for food and drink that i never had as i never stayed there to eat..gonzo which was the other guy that worked round the pool was forever hounding guests into paying 10 pounds in advance for sunday lunches that they did not want .it was suppose to include a full sunday roast with dessert and entertainment all night .as we were unaware the 1st sunday we stayed there .we gave it a go .the food was terrible there was no dessert and no entertainment .we were told that children could use the slide and the times stated was 10am till 12pm and 2pm till 4 pm this was turned off after 10 minutes as the guy that worked round the pool said it cost money to run .so i would never stay in this place again and 90% of the other guests agreed
