I Was A Member Of David Lloyd (because They Bought
I was a member of David Lloyd (because they bought out my old gym) and I was very unhappy with their service. Since starting a new job in Richmond, I have joined Pools on the Park, and very nice it is to.
I enjoy running, swimming and weight training, and there is more than enough here to keep me busy. The equipment is comprehensive, with a good balance of free weights and resistance machines, as well as treadmills, bikes and cross trainers.
The range of free weights is great, with barbells, dumbbells, adjustable benches and units for bench pressing and squats.
The swimming area has 2 pools, one outside and one inside, both a good size... and the sauna and Jacuzzi are a great way to end the training session.
The staff have been helpful and polite, assisted when needed and keep the place in good order. I have set up training programs and eating plans with help from Simon (I think) and so far, I am really enjoying being there. I jog over at lunch 3 or 4 times a week, so I feel I am getting my money's worth.
They have a monthly membership which requires 1 months notice for £66pm, or a year's membership which is around £10 cheaper pm with 1 months notice. So for Richmond central is a good price.
So, I'm very happy with the facilities, I have been to better and more plush gyms, and this isn't for people who want a fancy meal after, but it is great if you are in to fitness in a pleasant environment.
