If you want to be treat like a rat, than go ahead. Poor maintenance, terrible customer service. You won't receive your deposit back, that's for sure. Don't even dream about it. I have rent the property which was in a really bad shape. Left it all clean up, in way better shape than the first day. They had offered me 10% of my deposit. Ridiculous. Never ever again. I would not rent a house from them even if they would pay my bills and rent. Disgraceful creatures.

Phoned them regarding properties near to me who are being very noisy. Have acted immediately to help me. Very impressed with their attitude. Thanks to the team. Very grateful to you all.

I have been in contact numerous times, as two properties managed by them are causing misery. All night parties, loud music, racism etc. They haven't had the decency to get in touch and the council and the police are now dealing with the issues. It appears that as long as they are getting rent, their tenants can do whatever they want. Avoid this company like the plague.

I had the misfortune of dealing with city lettings for years. They DO NOT maintain properties in any way whatsoever. I suffered in a run down property with my family for years struggling to get anything at all fixed or repaired. They don't even get the boilers serviced when the should!

They speak to tenants disgracefully and the owner is a vile, nasty piece of work.

A few examples of problems we had: when we first rented the property everything looked fine on the surface after we moved in it soon became clear they papered over the cracks literally!

No proper plaster around the windows, just holes under the wallpaper causing damp. No joy getting that sorted in the hole 8 years we were there.

A leaky drain for months on end causing yet more damp. Condensation in between double glazing meaning we couldn't see out for many months.

Over 2 months without a working oven. The fridge and washing machine that were there were broken, got no joy and had to buy our own. Broken shower, which we waited for months until we got it sorted ourselves.

Carpet coming away from the stairs which never got fixed until yet again we sorted ourselves. Leaking toilet which never got sorted until we fixed ourselves. Paint falling off the exterior doors, waited again for months just to end up doing it ourselves.

Most importantly they do not even service the boiler on time! Oh and no carbon monoxide alarms, we bought our own.

The burglar alarm never worked, no joy with that either.

When you call them they speak to you disgustingly, and couldn't care less. They are truly awful. My Landlady seemed nice but still didn't get anything done. Nothing got done unless we sorted it ourselves. 8 years we lived there and there definitely was not 8 boiler services done!

All this and when I finally managed to move out the Landlady had the cheek to complain to me about the state of the property! It was covered in damp and mould due to leaks and windows not getting fixed etc.

I could go on and on.

The landlord's that give their properties to city lettings to "maintain" knowing they do nothing are just as disgraceful! You know who you are!

Please save yourselves do not go near these people.

To landlord's please use somebody decent that actually provides the service and maintenance for your properties.

I have dealt with City Lettings for over 8 year. They have dealt with me and my tenants professionally. The speed they work in finding a good tenant is exceptional with a turnaround time in days. If there has been any time the tenant or I have had any contact with them on any related matters they have kept both parties informed of what is being done to resolve. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone either looking for a tenant or for them to finding a suitable property. It is a pleasure to be working with them after trialling another agent this year.

I have been with City Lettings for over 10 years as a tenant and now a landlord and have nothing but respect and gratitude for them. They have helped me and a number of my friends on a number of occasions. I have seen them grow in the last decade and would recommend them to all. they have just re let my property in less than 48 hours. Keep up the good work guys.

this agency is the worst I have EVER experienced they have caused me and my partner so much physical and mental pain, so much stress and shown nothing but disrespect! My partner lived in the property for 2 years now as emergency accommodation half way through one of her uni years and when she viewed the place there was severe damp every where ( this was summer) and she was told that it was were the paint was peeling! obviously later on as this got severely worse and we realised it was damp,

when she moved in their was rubbish everywhere and it took her and her mum 2 hrs to clean. mould in most rooms, its has got so severe in most rooms now that is taken over most of the wall and is jet black and is starting to seriously effect our health! I have reported this for around 8 months now and they still are not bothered, only once I contact several legal services, health services and the police ( and after having a very rude, shouting and disrespectful phone call with me about it) did they bother to come and " look at it" and that's all that has been done..

It takes countless phone calls emails and even going in to the office in person to get a problem fixed or sorted and even the severe ones can take months but yet they are keen to contact you for payment .. again very unprofessional and will shout down the phone at you! I have even warned them about the effects the mould is having on my partners asthma and they laughed down the phone at me!

I have contacted many legal company's and housing company's and they have all stated they have many complaints and problems with this company as well as the police saying this! We also found many times we would come back and find someone had just let their self in as our stuff had moved and mentioned to use about having certain things when they have no way of knowing! many times this has happened and also just let maintenance in with no previous booking and then being left with a mess in a room that didn't have anything to fix in it ( ie foot prints on the bed when we had problems with electrics in the kitchen)

last but not least letting their selves in when you are in the house not fully clothed or in bed) please everyone do yourself a favour and don't bother with them please, the stress and messing around they have caused my partner has made her miss lectures..lab time and be behind on uni work and has also started to effect her grades. and its was also interesting to recently find out they are in the bottom 15 in the whole country for estate agents.

The property we were renting was in an unhabital state when we took possession of the keys,

Rubbish in every room and outside including condom wrappers and food waste

Fire alarms on the floors

Walls with mould and filth

Frayed and dirty carpets

Broken furniture

The property had no HMO license, what gas appliance inspection? Etc

The agents were aggressive,unapologetic and apparently ignorant of there responsibility to tennants

If you must proceed with extreme caution and make sure you get everything you believe in writing and make sure you completely understand your position, more importantly go on the local authorities website and checkout the agents/landlords responsibility

These are by far the worst letting agents I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They take your money and then if anything goes wrong they do nothing. I had a leak in the house, water was streaming down the walls, the heating wasn't working and they told me I was a bad tenant for asking for these things to be done. When nothing was done for two whole months they threatened me with solicitors. I had to get my own legal advice to which they said they had an obligation to sort things like heating and a leak in the house. I was told to get environmental health involved too as it was a hazard. The owner is the most aggressively, intimidating human being that I have ever come across- he screamed down the phone at me for an incredibly long time, cutting me off and was very offensive. He was so aggressive and angry that I would be ashamed to have my house under his company name. Stay well away from them they do nothing to help and leave you to suffer through their incompetencies. The owner is an aggressive lout who is not proffessional and most definetly needs anger managment. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! They will most definitely screw you over!
