Came across Cermica Blue completely by accident on Saturaday (5th June 2010) while at Portabello Market. Thought we mind find a present for a friend of ours who loves cooking and found the shop to be full of kooky kitcheny goodness. We were spoilt for choice in choosing a gift and eventually went for a really nice platter made from acacia wood.
I guess in look its much like wooden kitchenware that you can get in lots of places, but becasue its made of acacia its super light and looks great. It was also only £14 which I thought was really reasonable.
When we went to pay we stopped to speak to with the two lovely staff for about 15 minutes. We were shown other products and had explain to us some of the craft of making the wooden objects (such as growing specific fugus on the wood before cutting it to give it amazing patterns before outting it in the kiln to dry it and kill the fugus!).
When the found out it was a gift they offered to wrap it and finished off with a bow.
The layout of the shop is a good, but slightly contricted by the size of the shop itself.
All in all, it was the great customer service which made the shop stand out (and the products ain't half bad either!).
