About the microphone

This microphone has a great quality for its price of $1.50, I used it to record speech and it picked up my voice great, it only picks up a little amount of background noise from the computers and TVs which were around me, but it does come with a free wind cover which slips on and off easily, this reduced the background noise by a little bit, but it was better having it on, than of. The flexibility of the microphone is good because I have my 3.5mm jack input at the side of my laptop, having it at the side means I have to bend the microphone to point at me, that's why I think its good having the flexible head at the top of the microphone.
The product packaging says that it's made for, windows vista, XP, Me, 2000 and 98/98se, however I used the microphone on my windows 7 laptop, so don't query buying this product if you have windows 7, it works just as good as on our windows XP computer. And also another good thing about this microphone was that it worked on my brother's apple Mac laptop as well, so basically, ignore the packaging, it works on any type of computer.
Its an omnidirectioal microphone, I tested the microphone so I was close, far away, left, right and back, each time it recorded is position as clearly as each other, so if you have it not pointing at you, and you can't bend it far enough to point at you, don't worry, it will still record clear and professionally.
With the 3.5mm connection, comes a problem, it was OK for me as I have a new laptop, I have an audio in and out input at the side of it, however with older models of laptops and computers, audio in is right at the back of the computer, so to have this microphone may be pointless as you can't even see it to record, however, budget gadgets sell a USB audio adapter which holds a 3.5mm audio in and out input, so basically, plug it into your front USB socket, and you can then use the microphone through that.

Company Information

Shipping took about 1 and half weeks, so no problems there, and it was free as well, so even better. When I received the package, it took me about 5 minutes to open as I had no knife, this is good in my opinion, it shows that the company took time in packaging to make sure no one could open it or that it couldn't rip open in transit. Around both microphones must have been at least one metre of protective packaging, this is great so the products didn't get thrown about at all.
