As an SME, we took the decision to use teamscope crm (over salesforce.com, act etc) a number of years ago. Unfortunately, we've lived to regret our decision, for two main reasons.

Teamscope rope you in with low license costs, but unfortunately this is not the whole story. Support costs (which you will need, if you are not an IT guru) are generally sky high (whether from teamscope itself or one of its mostly usa based resellers. Moreover there are very few IT firms that actually support the software, which leads to extremely limited choice.

Secondly, the software creates much instability within outlook itself (irrespective of whether you use outlook 2003 or 2007). Crashes are frequent, with outlook reporting serious errors regularly.

Why haven't we moved? Well, as everyone knows switching the entirety of your crm database is extremely costly.

If you are considering crm, use salesforce, it may seem a little more expensive, but in the long run I'll wager it will save you money.
