“Dodged or maybe winged by a bullet.”

written by 324Stafford on 29/10/2020

Started dealing with this company while under the impression it was another company with great reviews. The trick I missed was UK missing from company title.(attention to detail lacking) I stumbled over these reviews after smelling a rat. Strange having no cards no brochure, only "the office one",3 tatty sample doors. Asking prior to the survey day if I was in a position to decide and pay the deposit on the same day. Didn't bother to measure up till I had said yes. I googled the office address to a 9 storey office block, rang the "office" number and got redirected(why?).When I hung up was immediately called from a mobile(no one spoke when I answered (again strange) Called the buildings agent and although they couldn't comment on individuals there and when I explained why I was asking they said its probably an empty office solely for a business address. Hence redirected phone, just nothing seems right about it. So I am glad I stumbled on these reviews and although I paid a deposit I hate to think of the trouble that was hurtling my way. Not wanting to take the chance I have since cancelled and begin the fight to recover my money.

Simply kitchens and now trading as kitchens simply. the workmanship was poor and the units fell apart after 6 months. I will never buy from them again and any potential customers please stay away. never ever pay cash upfront and don't transfer cash into his account because you will have no way of getting it back.

“DONT BE FOOLED”

★☆☆☆☆

written by 127Pritchard on 28/08/2017

I wish I had read the reviews before I went to simply kitchens in Bradford. To summarise and reiterate what the other reviewers have said; this company and its owner are c.on artists, they will give you a cheap quote, but when it comes to delivery and installation, you will receive the wrong items, things that don't fit, cheap materials. The owner was very rude and unhelpful, and refused to refund or provide compensation for the shoddy work, and told me he would continue to do what he does because he can't be stopped. He is a vile man, please save yourself money and heartache by avoiding this company. If there was on option for zero stars then this company would get the trophy.

written by Rogerf224 on 26/07/2017

Simply kitchens Bradford, don't ever get taken in the worst experience ever! They mis sell to you by adding costs at time of fitting, pressure you to pay deposit, don't deliver right items and the quality of splash backs is disgusting! Incredibly rude owner and honestly the worst experience ever do not get drawn in due to cheap price!! Honestly would never rate anyone so low.

I have never had a nice kitchen so I decided to go with tihis company as they seemed reasonably priced As it turns out they are not reasonably rices at all !!! The whole experience from start to finish was a sham!! I have never felt so humiliated and disgusted Three days off work ..no show Three attempted deliveries...wrong colour/products All deliveries after 11pm at night so that you don't notice their substandard products I really wouldn't have gone ahead if I hadn't been forced to pay £100 deposit Every time I go into my kitchen I want to cry They also trade under Christian Kitchens I was racially abused and had sexist remarks made towards me !! Please ladies BEWARE!!!

I nearly ordered my kitchen with this company but got suspicious when they only take cash or bank draft . also the salesman left no paperwork or brochure it seems like if they don't catch you on the day they just don't want to leave a trace . i decided to check for reviews on the net and was not surprised at what i read . the old rule applies ,what looks too good to be true usually is . its amazing that dodgy traders like these can trade ,something wrong with the law. thanks for the warning everyone.

“Cowboys”

written by on 25/01/2013

I hope I'm talking about the same company here. It's located in Bradford bd3. Please don't waste your time & money. Cowboys running this place. I'm angry at myself as when I went to their showroom some of the doors weren't level / straight so I that should have sent alarms bells ringing. (It actually did but I think I pressed snooze.) Very pushy sales people. Promise the earth, do all the "don't worry, don't worry" We had hinges falling off, missing bits, shoddy workmanship, appalling after-service. Save yourself one BIG headache. And two headaches if your married as the missus won't be happy. Ciao

“Do Not Buy From This Company”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 09/11/2012

I should have known better than to buy from a company I had not heard of before, but the sales guy was informative and thorough albeit a bit pushy. I placed the order and it was delivered as stated on the day but that is when everything went down hill!! The cupboards were good quality but the hinges were not!! they bent at the weight put on them buy hanging a door on. They did not supply handles or legs for the cabinets and when you rang to complain they just put you on hold and thats where you stayed untill you gave up after dangling for half hour.

“Avoid at all costs. - now trading as Kitchens Simply”

written by DaviesFlintshire on 28/08/2012

We are in the process of renovating a property and came accross an advert for this company in our local newspaper - advertising last season B&Q kitchens at half price. We had already had a design and quote completed by B&Q so we contacted the company to arrange a visit. As mentioned in previous reviews - a scruffy looking salesman arrived, along with his deck chair , a pad of graph paper and a ruler. He proceeded to transfer the B&Q design onto his pad, making no changes what so ever,he then gave us a very favourable quote on a like for like kitchen, informing us that we could receive delivery in 2 - 4 weeks. He advised us that in order to process the order he would need a £100 cash deposit (this is when the alarm bells should have started ringing)but unfortunately we foolishly ignored them. On returning home we checked the web site and found lots of bad reviews. We immediately sent an e.mail and cancelled our order. The following morning my husband tried to phone the salesman on his mobile number - suprise, suprise - the number did not take incoming calls. He then contacted the company (after being on the phone for approx 35mins ) - spoke to a number of individuals who informed him that we would get a full refund of our '£100 deposit' once they had received formal notification of cancellation (this was sent to them the following day - recorded delivery - that was over a month ago. - still waiting but not holding out much hope. We, consider ourselves to be lucky considering some of the reviews - it could have been worse. but equally we feel embarrassed that we allowed ourselves to be duped. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Why many reviews on one specific kitchen supplier often involved B&Q. That's suspicious..

“Why are they still in business??????”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 20/05/2012

I have just returned from my daughters house correcting faulty workmanship on her kitchen. Most of it was small things like hinges not fitted straight but the worst was that the hole in the worksurface for the hob was sufficiently wide that there was a gap on each side and it was out of parrallel with the edge by about 5 mm. The company said all responsibility for the fitting was with my daughter as the fitter was not employed by them. Obviously the sooner this company is out of business the better.

I qent on to this site and got a phone call and made an appointment for them to come although I could not remember who they were. Thwe sales man was very nice and when I wshowed some skeptism he stated "do you hear from people when they were happy and we are different as we do not ask for any money until delivery. They turne up at my house in the evening without prior notice and because thy only take cash I had to go to the Bank to get the cash, and although I queried what wa delivered could mpt check. The salesman sttye tht if you use their fitters work is started two days after delivery. They did not come within two days but when they did come after trying to say they did not employ the fitters, hqt the customer did, the fitter stqted that there were missing items which he would order. The battle thn started as I was waiting for weeks for this dleivery and had to make loadsa of tlephone calls (when the Company was answering their phone) and emails. The so called fitter eventually came and gave me an agreement that my kitchen woudl be completed by 15 December 2010 and requested the payment which stupidly I paid, again in cash. Needless to say that he did not finish the kitchen and I spoke to supervisors Daryl who was very rude as he objected to my sending emails etc. I am still waiting for completion of my mitchen and we are now nerly at the end of April 2012. Their stationery ehich they gave me stated tghat Mr Brundet was the person to contact shoudl you have any queries but he infromed me some months after I had been chasing that he no longer workeed for the company and tht Mr Vance Miller was the person (may he rot in hell). I am a pensioner and this two bit company has caused me a lot of strwess which has affected my health.

I feel genuinely sorry that you have been conned by this unscrupulous company. Yesterday I had a quote from the company and was asked to sign the paperwork. When I asked what I was signing was told it was to order the kitchen. Luckily I did not sign and haven't handed any money over. My daughter visited and said it was unusual for a company not to give brochures or business cards (both of which I was told was to cut down costs). She checked on companies house ....nothing. She then googled the service contact number on their website, it was amazing , everything that came up referred to them as a scam company going under several names. I have been lucky, apparently Vance Miller has been on Watchdog several times. I do hope that you can get some help from someone to complete your kitchen.

“total ripoff company”

We also got taken in by simply kitchens, i cant stress enough that you need to avoid this company at all costs.our salesman was barry, a total liar and also very slick and pushy.he measured our kitchen all wrong even though he came out TWICE. when the kitchen arrived it was awful, completley horrible, the units were the wrong size, battered and looked second hand, the end panels even had scratches and holes in them. We refused to keep it and the delivery driver took it back. we have phoned customer services and cancelations constantley since then trying to get our £100 deposit back but if they do actually answer the phone they just put you on hold and you never get to speak to anyone.they are a scam company but i wont give up without a fight, i intend to blast them all over the internet in hopes that other people will not get caught like we did and i might even try watchdog aswell. Be aware that this company uses other names such as kitchen kitchen kitchen amongst others, so approach with caution.

He came we haggled and i was ok with the price and paid deposit. Wasnt that a BIG MISTAKE. kitchen was delivered and luckily i had a joiner in waiting to check all was complete, surprise surprise wrong size units and incomplete kitchen. He refused it and driver loaded it all back on the van(wee shame eh). I was given another delivery date for following week which i agreed, unfortunately i could not get the joiner again to check delivery and i was unavailble and had to rely on my neighbour. MISSING 3 DOORS, 3 DRAWER FRONTS, LARDER UNIT AND OVEN FACIA, ALSO WRONG SIZE HANDLES FOR DRAWERS. i spent numerous hours on the phone only to be hung up on time and time again. i am now on the verge of gonig down to their office and smash somebodys face in if i dont get my stuff.pity help the fool thats in front of me lying through their teeth, they wont have any left by the time i leave. i have had enough of being taken for a IDIOT and lied to time and time again. “KITCHEN SUPPLIER FROM HELL”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 23/10/2011

We fell for the slick saleman, fancy website, and the price. Kitchen arrived minus hob, faulty extractor, some fittings such as the cooker housing panel and the cornerpost also missing, extra units, more coving than was needed the list goes on. Tried to ring - got through after an hour listening to "sorry to keep you waiting - your number XX in the queue" This I did 5 times. When finaly answered THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED HUNG UP.We have also faxed, emailed. We were LUCKY had a good team of fitters (our own) who have managed to finish the kitchen but it cost us a further £400. I have also contacted Trading Standards, Consumer Direct, Watchdog who hopefully will do another program on this company. We have also sent letters recorded delivery to both Simply Kitchen/Kitchens Uber but dont hold out much hope of getting any refund. But Consumer Direct wants to know what happens so maybe they can do something with this company after all they are a goverment department. I always thought I was savy and knew my rights (I volunteer at Citizen Advice) but I still got caught. By the way our saleman was called Flannagan (supposedly lives near Lincoln) so if he comes to you , show him the DOOR. I only wish we had seen this site before we ordered, would have shown him the door.

“Lucky escape”

I too was drawn in by this company who appeared genuine and good value. It seems that at a time when people have little cash that some vultures will take advantage. Fortunately I only lost a deposit of around £100 but still feel like a mug. I fist thought that this company wasn't all that it seemed came when 1 - the salesman who saw me gave a different company name to the website I had visited and 2 - that the method of payment is essentialy cash only. Following this I searched the internet for the company given by the salesman (simply kitchens) and was horrified by the numerous warning messages posted on this and other similar forums. If you have placed an order and 14 days haven't passed you can still cancel the order and save having to fork over the remaining money when you receive your faulty goods. This is how I went about cancelling my order: 1 - I phoned the salesman soon after reading the reviews stating my intention to cancel. He directed me to the customer service number and stated that he couldn't do anything. 2 - I filled in the cancellation slip attached to my quote and kitchen plan sheet. The address on this sheet was somewhere in Hull. I am assuming that this is a false address as after a bit of detective work found the true address to be in Oldham. 3 - I sent the cancellation slip with a letter outlining that I wished to cancel the order. I sent this recorded delivery (first class). I did receive numerous calls following their receipt of the letter trying to confirm a date for delivery of the goods, each time I explained that they had received my cancelation request. Eventually the delivery day came (a day I had been fearing for weeks) and thankfully there was no sign of a mob of hoodlums trying to unload yet another dodgy batch of kitchen parts. Don't be fooled by the smartly dressed polite salesmen and fancy website(s), and don't be tempted by the ridiculously low quote!
