Sino Orthodontic molar bands are thin metal rings that are placed on teeth to secure orthodontic attachments. Also known as orthodontic bands, they are wrapped around individual teeth and act as anchors to fasten parts of braces.

I read the other reviews and saw you need to do some legwork - FIND A DENTIST THAT WILL HONOR THIS PLAN and will give you their price schedule in advance so you know what you will save. I needed crowns - 2 to 3 - and was told by a new dentist that I was looking at $1200 per tooth and that each tooth would take 2-3 visits and about a months time to complete process. THIS DENTIST DID NOT TAKE CAREINGTON so I looked online and found one who did. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I found a dentist at WOODBURY SMILES in Woodbury, MN who not only took CAREINGTON but also offered state-of-the-art, CEREC crowns that are made on site and installed in just ONE office visit! The real kicker was I could also go with a step-up for a more durable crown on these molars and not have to worry about cracking like I would with regular crowns. I was THRILLED to get my first gorgeous, state-of-the-art crown in a SINGLE OFFICE VISIT. The tooth looks as if it was made by GOD HIMSELF! It is that beautiful! I was VERY IMPRESSED with the high quality service, the super high quality materials and, most importantly, the fact that, thanks to CAREINGTON, I got this amazing work done at a price that actually came in lower that the other dentist offered me. Thanks to CAREINGTON, I not only saved money and got MUCH BETTER SERVICE, but, most importantly, I SAVED MY SMILE. THANKS CAREINGTON!

The prices that are shown on the Schedule 501 are only if a regular dentist dares to do the procedure, in other words, if you neighbor or friend can do the extraction of the root canal, then Careington will honor those fees. If you are referred by your dentist to see a specialist like a Periodontist, Orthodontist or Surgeon, then you have to pay 80%. And they only pay 20%. Basically, the company is a liar, and it should not be in business. I am reporting this company to all agencies! This company should not be in business!!

I called on March 9 due not seeing a refund and they're telling me they have to investigate it before refunding my money..what is going on?Why investigate..??? My money should be refunded to me because I did it within the 30 days.. No questions asked.. Something is not right with these people..

The company is bogus. I joined because of my health insurance Aenta was there. I went to the dentist. No coverage. They had no plans with them. They have no customer service to help.
Written on: 02/06/2016
Sorry, but it seems you may have our company confused with another. We do not carry health insurance here. One of our discount dental plans does use Aetna’s Dental Access network, but we are otherwise not associated with Aetna.

I signed up after being assured that my dentist was on the list of approverd doctors. I paid the $99 enrollment fee along with the additional $20 processing fee. Luckily I made a quick appointment and found yhat my dentist not only had never heard of the plan they did not allow for any discounted billing practices ever! So I at least was able to cancel the plan within the 30 day cancellation policy otherwise I would have lost the whole $119! This seems to me like false advertising and a way for this company to make $20. Quite a disappointment. The customer service was curtious though.

Bogus company. I paid the yearly. My dentist was on their cover page. Did not cover anything. No customer service to help. Save your money. Stay away from them.
Written on: 02/06/2016
We are sorry to hear that you had trouble using our plan at your dentist. It happens sometimes (but not often) that a dentist will drop himself from the network without contacting the network administrators. As a result, he would still be listed on the site of providers, unfortunately. When this happens, we take responsibility and refund the processing fee, as well.

This is not a dental plan or insurance. Most of the dentists I've been to will only accept specific type of insurance. Please CALL your dentist ahead what kind of insurance plans or discount plans they will accept or you will just waste your money. I went to several dentists and all of them will not accept Careington 500 Dental Plan or they never heard. This company make it sounds too good to be true. Beware.
Written on: 02/06/2016
We apologize for the confusion about the plan. The Careington 500 is a dental discount plan that has contracted with a specified network of dentists to charge patients discounted prices. You can search over 100,000 dentists who honor Careington 500 discounts on our website.

I purchase Careington 500 plan on 1-29. I had 57 dentist to choose from within a 50 mile radius. Went to the dentist on 2-4. I was quoted $8,939 to have 22 teeth removed and dentures made. After Careington plan my total cost was $4,861. I am so impressed with there service it saved me $4,078. Thank you so much 1Dental and Careington it will be so nice to go through life without my teeth hurting.

I have at work dental plan but my boyfriend is self employed, so after extensive search I got Careington 500 Plan, paid $95.00 for a year. I Was skeptic but it comes with 30 day full refund (except for $20.00 processing fee ), so it was worth it as his tooth cracked and he was in pain, needed immediate root canal on molar tooth and a crown. I found that HUDEC Dental (I live in OH) accepts it. Today went to dentist, here are the savings by procedure codes: 3330 Root canal molar - $1152 - paid $438 0140 Limited oral exam - $79.00- paid $19 0220 Periapical first film - $25 - paid $11 0230 Periapical addt'l film - $22 - paid $6 So, the charge w/o insurance was $1,278 and I paid $474, it is %62.9% savings! I have guardian insurance from work and my root canal price is more than that! I have seen bad reviews here and thought I was scammed too, but was pleasantly surprised today! The only downfall is that you really have to search for dentists that participate in the plan and there were not many of them in our area that are doing specifically molar root canals, so had to drive about an hour to Hudec dental in Bedford, OH but it was worth the savings! Definitely recommend to everyone and considering he gets for $95.00 full year discounts with no limit of how much you can use and covers preexisting conditions, I will get myself that plan too rather than pay 3 times more at work for my dental and have higher prices and cap at $1000 per year. And if you get insurance for 2 or more people, it is discounted rate- for 2 people is it $129. I bought is online at 1dental.com and I liked the fact that I was able to chat with representative online before buying and ask all the questions I had. It was easy, painless and super rewarding! I will add another review on the crown savings once I have it scheduled for my him.

I had this plan over the years & just renewed it last Summer. I never received an id card & needed that to go to a different dentist after having implants done. I got a terrible runaround, saying they couldn't find my name in their file, yet I used it earlier that month. Now, to date, since January 7th, I cannot get my card & I'm being billed monthly on Amex. Amex opened a claim for the card in January & they have not gotten a response yet either!!! total NG!
Written on: 09/04/2015
We're sorry to hear you're having trouble receiving your cards. We would be glad to send you another set if you will just give us a call and verify your mailing address. Our phone number for the direct customer service line at 1Dental.com is 855-329-6305. Or, we can go ahead and cancel your plan out if you no longer want to be billed.
One of the best things about our plan is that you can use it and the dental office will just call us to verify using your last name and zip code as long as they are in the network.
Best Regards,
The 1Dental Team

This is NOT dental insurance. It is an arrangement for "discounted" services from a variety of dental companies. I was referred to Great Expressions in Cross Creek, Tampa. They then referred me to a colleague who was a periodontist in Wesley Chapel. I have had periodontal disease for the past 24 years and been treated by regular cleanings every three months and deep cleanings once every two to three years. The discounted cost of basic Xrays and cursory evaluation by the regular dentist was sixty two dollars. The periodontist charged me $ 312.00 for evaluation and 890.00 for a deep cleaning. My last periodontist charged me $600 .00. It was the worst cleaning I have had in 24 years. Then after a month of pain I returned for my re-evaluation. Another $82.50! My wife's dentist charges 60.00 for a regular cleaning. I will take my Acetaminophen 500 mg. twice a day Rather than return to these (what I consider to be) dishonest people. There were no savings. I ended up paying about $1300.00 for continuing discomfort. Plus of course the membership in Careington! Oh I paid $20.00 for a small bottle of mouthwash and I filled a prescription at the Walmart pharmacy for twice the volume for $4.00. So much for Savings. Never again!

You're right, we do not offer dental insurance. Instead, our dental discount plans provide our members with savings up 60% off procedure prices at network dentists and periodontists. We'd be happy to help you find a new provider in your area. Please give us a call at 855-329-6305

This is the first time Ive been compelled to write a negative review. Do yourself a favor and do NOT use this plan. I had a very bad experience with one of their dental providers about three months ago, filed a complaint with Carrington and have yet to receive any status of my complaint. And when I requested cancellation due ti my bad experience, they denied it due to the request being after the 45 day trial period. Ive used other dental plans in the past and have been satisfied for the most part, but not this one.

Everything happened so quickly and my teeth look so fantastic now that I really can't believe how easy it seems it was for you to put things right. I really appreciate all of the aftercare your calls and your staff's friendliness made all the difference."

In central PA, hardly any dentists recognize the plan much less use it. If you have no insurance at all, many dentists will give you a discount which is less than what the plan "offers" if you can find a dentist who will honor it. When it really got bad was when I needed to find an endodontist and crown and bridge work (forget about implants). After I cancelled, the company continued charging my credit card. When I cancelled again, they refused to give a refund even for one month, after charging all year for nothing. Worthless. Zero for value, zero for customer service, should be investigated by states' attorney generals or other fraud officials.

You probably live in a very rural area right? Well, if a dentist is in a small town and doesn't have to compete for customers, there's no reason for him to offer his patients a discount. It's NOT Careington's fault - it's because of where you live. Not many providers in Alaska either. :)
Written on: 23/01/2015
Oh no! I am very sorry that happened. Our network has over 100,000 dental access points nation wide, but sometimes we simply just don't have dental offices near members. Please call us and we will get this taken care of immediately. We can issue a refund check for the months you were cancelled, but got charged anyway. If you email me, i'll investigate what happened.

If you go to the plans participating providers and you are fortunate enough to have great teeth and just need maintenance then it will work. However, it has been my experience that the providers tack on every single possible extra charge to an already exhorbant "Treatment plan" that they possibly could. After going to two different providers, I have been told I have periodontal disease bad enough to need root scaling. I just had this done about 1 year ago and the hygenist said I was back on for every six months. I am diligent when it comes to brushing and flossing. I believe the providers are just in it for the almighty dollar first and foremost and the patients dental health secondary. I am rather disgusted with the industry as a whole. People think our medical system is broken! My dental bills will surpass all medical out of pocket by thousands. About ready to say "Yank them all out" and buy dentures. Current treatment plan total is $6,301.00 thus far. On poverty wages who can afford to pay that amount on their teeth? This is not for cosmetic purposes but just to keep them in my mouth.

I called and told this company that i have cancer and no longer need this insurance/plan... They refused to give me this months money back. They are wrong and whomever wrote the 'policies' shall pay one day. You don't treat folks like this in a business. Todd is the one that took my call. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE RUDE AND RELENTLESS.

Their representative on the phone wasn't very helpful in articulating how their coverage actually worked. I called the dental offices provided on Carrington's website and I must say the dental assistant/receptionist was very nice on the other end of the line until I mentioned my "Carington500 Plan". Her attitude completely changed, and said she would call me back with pricing but that they have a lot of problems with their pricing. I felt very uncomfortable, embarrassed and almost felt humiliated. I called a few offices, they all told me the same thing. Three days went by and I never got a call back from any of the offices I called which were listed on Carrington's website. Not only is this unprofessional but it was a complete waste of time. Since I was told I had 30 days to get refunded my money I went ahead and gave Carrington a call, they were very pleasant and helpful up until I told them that I wasn't happy with the way this whole procedure worked, they had me on hold and no one would ever come to the line. I was on hold for over an hour at one point and the call cut off on their end. They left me no choice but to call my Bank and file a claim, I was credited my $96.00 which were initially charged to my account. I think its funny how they state they will NOT reimburse you their $20.00 non-refundable fee. Luckily my bank really knew how to help me out in this scenario. Not saying Carrington is bogus but the dentists whom they are contracted with seem to be less than pleased with Carrington. I cannot believe how unprofessional they were in helping me out to cancel my membership. But how they were oh so helpful and quick to charge my card!!! When there's a will, there's a way!!! GOT REFUNDED CARRINGTON!!! :) Who are you to say I couldn't get refunded every last dollar!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! WOULDN'T RECCOMEND TO ANYONE (NOT ANYONE I LIKED ANYWAY).

I’m sorry for any miscommunication. Our website does explain that the discounted fee schedule is for general dentists and that specialists in our network do offer a 20% discount. The prices shown on the website are contracted rates. We explain these features over the phone, as well. There is nothing hidden about how the plan works. Please give us a call at (855) 329-6305 if we can answer any questions.
