Had A Halstead Quattro Gold 13 Years Now No Proble
Had a Halstead quattro gold 13 years now no problems until now, only air pressure switch £40.00 . this has been a very reliable boiler not one breakdown in 13 years ,as long as Inhibtor is kept topped up ie drained down every couple of years & new inhibtor put in as with any central heating system ,this will prevent many problems assosiated with sludge build up etc .still going strong ,and will not be replaced untill it cost to much to repair which will be a good few years yet
hi i also have a halstead boiler which is roughly 13/14 years old it works but my friends say its noisey when i put the central heating on. i guess new boilers are quiet lol.... i dont know if i should look into a new boiler or like you said use it until it die,s is an old boiler dangerous? x

Our Halstead Gold Is Now 9 Years Old And We Have
Our Halstead Gold is now 9 years old and we have had the engineers out countless times.
The biggest issue now is that because the water pressure is constantly falling and the water is regularly topped up with normal water. Any inhibitor that was once in the system is so diluted that all the radiators are full of a thick magnatite and are rusting at the bottom. Because this boiler is so poor once it finally dies not only will I need to replace the boiler but all the radiators as well!
Currently I sit in a freezing cold house having been told by the D and G engineer that he is unable to obtain a new fan for it as they have been out of stock everywhere since before the New Year -it's now the 14th January and with 5 of us unable to bathe properly for god knows how long, it will soon be a very smelly house.

I Have Had This Halstead Finest Gold Fitted From N
I have had this Halstead Finest Gold fitted from new and although it is now over 10 years old, i have had problems with it since day one. It's only down to a good D&G policy that it has kept going for this long though they must have changed just about every part in the boiler on more than one occasion over the years, it would have been cheaper to replace it. My advice would be to steer well clear of these boilers unless you want countless times when you have no hot water, no heating and lots of inconvenient visits from your engineer.

This Must Be The Worse Buy I Have Ever Made In 50
This must be the worse buy I have ever made in 50 years.
Although now nine years old and has been serviced on a regular basis, I have had to call out repair engineers between 15 and 20 times. They have fitted a new gas valve (£180) FOUR - Printed circuit borads (around £200 each) and countless thermostats etc -
I am now sitting in a freezing house once again!- as I was last September and this January.
Next stop the council rubbish tip !
The 'one stars' given above should actually be no stars - but there is no place to record that.
